MP: 4 Maoists, including 3 women, killed in encounter with security forces
The encounter took place in the forests of Pachama Dadri village under Bithli post of Rupjhar police station area of the district.
Balaghat superintendent of police Aditya Mishra said, 'Information was received about the camps and movement of Maoists. The operation was launched on Saturday morning. The Maoists were seen in the forest. They were asked to surrender but they started firing. Forces retaliated and gunned down four. The search operation is still going on. The team recovered a grenade launcher, 1 SLR and other weapons from the encounter site.'
Police are trying to identify the slain Maoists, he said, adding that there is a possibility of finding more bodies of Maoists.

Phulbani: Three Maoists, including two women, hailing from Chhattisgarh, on Monday surrendered before security forces in Kandhamal district, police said. The surrendered Maoists were identified as Made Beti alias Champa, a divisional committee member of BGN (Basadhara-Ghumsur-Nagabali) division of the CPI (Maoist) outfit, Raju Dodi alias Ajay (area committee member) and Admo Madvi alias Manju (area committee member) of KKBN (Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh) division of the outlawed organisation. They surrendered here before senior Odisha Police and CRPF officers, including IGP, Southern Range, Niti Shekhar, Kandhamal SP and CRPF's 127 battalion commandant. 'They surrendered as they were disillusioned because of the intensified and sustained combing operations, and also due to the attractive surrender policy of the government,' Kandhamal SP Harish B C said. 'We have intensified combing operations in Maoist-affected areas to curb LWE activities in Kandhamal,' Harish added. The surrendered cadres were involved in several violent incidents in both Odisha and Chhattisgarh. 'We once again appeal to all the Maoists to shun violence and join the mainstream,' IGP Niti Shekhar told reporters.

3 Maoists surrender in Phulbani
1 2 Berhampur: Three hardcore Maoists, including two women, all from Chhattisgarh, carrying a total bounty of Rs 13 lakh, surrendered to police at Phulbani in Kandhamal district Monday. The surrendered Maoists were identified as Made Beti alias Champa (30) of Dugumarka in Sukma district, working as divisional committee member (DCM), Raju Dodi alias Ajay (35) of Basaguda, and Admo Madvi alias Manju (27) of Pangud in Bijapur district, working as area committee members in Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division of CPI (Maoist). They surrendered at the district police office in Phulbani in the presence of inspector general of police (southern range) Niti Sekhar, SP (Kandhamal) Harish BC, and commandant 127 battalion of CRPF Pankaj Verma. "The task of the surrendered Maoists was to reactivate the North-South corridor from Jharkhand to Chhattisgarh through south-central Odisha. They were working in the Maoist organisation since 2009, 2016, and 2011 respectively," said the SP (Kandhamal). The trio were involved in several Maoist-related violences in Kandhamal.
