If you've been locked in on the butter-yellow trend, you know it has been steadily gaining steam and now reaching full‑on mania. Sitting between beige and lemon, this shade is mellow enough for the colour‑shy but bold enough to stand alone. Locally, Australian Fashion Week saw the colourway peeking into runways for Aje, Carla Zampatti Wynn Hamlyn, whereas international runways have seen designers from Alaïa to Erdem drenching everything in the soft, happy hue: Simkhai and Emilia Wickstead featured minis and midis alike; Chloé and Bally bathed jackets in the sunshiney shade; and Chanel and Ralph Lauren's bags are basically pats of creamy goodness. The best part of butter yellow? It never feels one‑note, and there's a way to work it into your wardrobe, no matter your vibe.
Want to keep things muted and grounded? Team butter yellow with another trending tone, chocolate brown — think tailored trousers or a pencil skirt for work. Here for more relaxed styles? Layer a buttery piece over white separates, or team with a butter-yellow accessory like bags or shoes. For off‑duty cool, pair your favourite jeans with a yellow top or flats. Feeling extra? Mix your boldest butter-yellow piece with ballet pink or mint green for a full pastel party.
From knit minis and sleek work‑to‑dinner maxis to crisp cotton‑poplin tops and throwover jumpers, there's a butter‑yellow moment for every mood. Not ready to go head‑to‑toe? Dip a toe in with a bag, shoe, or accessory that melts seamlessly into your everyday favourites.
A Butter Yellow Dress
A butter‑yellow dress — whether softly draped or crisp and voluminous — brightens any mood. Pair your favourite with everything from chunky sandals to kitten heels in warmer weather, or fresh sneakers in the colder months.
In place of your beige, ivory, or grey top layers, opt for a buttery yellow jacket instead. Style over a white tee with jeans on the weekend or pair with tailored trousers for work — whatever your flavour, it's one of those 'the coat is the look' moments.
Butter Yellow Cotton Poplin
Butter‑yellow cotton‑poplin separates feel crisp, cool, and utterly refreshing — a coordinated look, yet easy to break up for endless outfit options. Wear an oversized shirt open over a cami and high‑waist jeans for weekend ease, or go for something that can peek out of your coat in winter.
A Butter Yellow Sweater
Winter calls for chunky knits, so why not make a brighter version your go‑to? Our faves range from a butter‑yellow cardigan to a collared pullover — cozy enough for chillier days, but also airy enough for warmer months — even when styled as a top. If you just want the cozy pop, drape your favourite over your shoulders atop a slip dress or tee for a street-style-inspired look.
Butter Yellow Bottoms
Butter‑yellow bottoms are here to brighten your favourite basics for low‑key, sweet style. Whether you choose a ruched midi or tailored trousers, we love them paired with simple pieces like a tee, tonal sweater, or easy tank.
A Butter Yellow Top
You don't have to colour‑drench to give butter yellow a try. Tops are like a fresh squeeze of sunshine — perfectly balanced by classic bottoms from tailored trousers to baggy jeans or slim skirts, or peeking through with some cute layering.
A Butter Yellow Bag

Butter‑yellow bags are bold enough to steal the show yet subtle enough to ease you into the trend. Shoulder bags and smaller top handles are the most versatile shapes to carry any day of the week.
Butter Yellow Shoes
Butter‑yellow shoes are the pick‑me‑up your feet have been craving, from flats to block and kitten‑heel silhouettes. Wear them with denim for casual cool, or team them with occasion wear, like a wedding guest dress, for a sweet burst of sunshine.

14 Bits Of Juicy Gossip To Sip Your Tea To

Recently, u/lailaa2513 asked r/AskReddit, "What is the spiciest gossip you know that you are willing to share on reddit?" And we thought we'd share some of the best responses. "Mother from a girl in my kid's class cheated with the father of another girl. Six months forwards they both get a divorce and start dating. Another few months forwards and the other parents (who got cheated on) started dating together. The girls are now double step-siblings." "At my old job, two coworkers were having a secret affair both married to other people. They got caught because they both called in sick on the same day… and posted beach photos from the exact same location on Instagram. To this day, neither returned to the office and their desks were cleared out by HR without a word." "An undercover cop in my hometown was secretly banging the biggest coke dealer in town." "I worked in a grocery store. And one of the cashiers and a vendor had sex in a storage area. A couple of weeks later the vendor came in and yelled about how the cashier gave him the clap." "I started work at this telecommunications company back in the early '90s. One of our co-workers was diagnosed with two different types of cancer." "When I was in the third or fourth grade, a classmate, Carla, came to my house to play. The next day at school Carla told others that I peed my pants. I denied it for 34 years. I did, in fact, pee my pants that day. It was a great play date. I was very amped on soda and excitement. Carla, why did you share my business?" "My cousin Brad and his wife Eliza spilt up. I assume he cheated on her, because of past cheating on girlfriends. He stays with his mum for a bit." "I used to work at a daycare and and the same guy was the boyfriend of two of the mums. He'd come in with Rhonda in the morning to drop off their baby, and then he'd come by in the afternoon with Susan, to pick up her kid. They eventually found out. Wild behaviour." "At a family gathering, my aunt got drunk and accidentally revealed that her youngest son isn't my uncle's kid… He's actually my dad's best friend's." "We currently have a guy at our work who keeps putting banana peels on everybody's car door. They've been trying to find out who it is for months now. He started out by just doing it to a few cars, but now it's escalated to pretty much every car door in the parking lot. Everybody has gotten pissed to the point that HR and all of the top managers are now involved. Crazy it's been going on this long, and they still have no idea who it is. But I know who it is.... Because it's me..." "My boyfriend's daughter had an affair with (and just left her husband for) my ex boyfriend." "I taught girls who I thought were twins. Turns out they were half sisters. Dad knocked up mom and then impregnated his side piece. Both ladies dumped him and got together. Now they have their mums, their dad, and his new wife." "My dad's cousins are twins. Let's call them Tim and Tom. In high school, Tim and Tom were dating another set of twins. We will call them Joan and Jane. They dated through high-school and ended up having a shared wedding. After both had one child, they got divorced, married each other's ex's, and had another kid. The four kids are half siblings but genetic full blood siblings. It makes for great family reunions." "My close friend discovered her loser bf had been cheating on her while he was overseas with his fling. Upon finding out, she made the big decision to pack her bags and ditch him after almost eight years together. Just before she left she flooded his carpets, scattered grass seeds and fertiliser all over, and cranked up the heating for a couple of weeks. When he returned home from his trip, he was greeted by a lush indoor lawn in his tropical abode. And not to mention an incredibly unpleasant odour. Best f'ing burn ever." H/T to u/lailaa2513 and r/AskReddit for having the discussion. Any of your own to add? Let us know in the comments below!

12 Chic July Outfits That'll Get You Through the Heatwave

You know that "Satan's doorstep" thing everyone keeps talking about? Well, congratulations. You're in it. With the temps hovering between "oh hell no" and "ungodly hot," you probably don't want to wear anything more modest than a string bikini and booty shorts. And, honestly? That's a choice I wholeheartedly support. That's why when I was sourcing this July outfits mood board, I went with ensembles that can withstand even the most cruel and unusual temperatures. Summer outfits that look hot as hell, but don't feel hot as hell. Ya know? Ahead, you'll find new ways to wear some of your favorite summer staples—from bra tops and button-downs to slip skirts and capri pants. Bookmark this page for the next time you're contemplating leaving the house totally naked, because these heatwave-proof outfits are the next best thing. This summer's take on the classic Little White Dress comes straight from your Bubby's kitchen table. Delicate doily dresses are just as lightweight as a classic mesh bodycon, but they look so much more romantic. Bra as a Shirt Season is in full effect, and the girlies are out here thriving. Pop yours on with a streetwear-style button-down and sneakers for an edgy vibe. Summertime office attire is the bane of every commuter's existence—sweaty on the train, freezing in the office, repeat. Layers are a key element for staving off this irritating phenomenon. Go for a skirt suit in a trendy color (i.e. chocolate brown) that allows you to take off your jacket when needed. A chic co-ord is the easiest slay you'll ever serve. Dresses require styling to look put-together, whereas matching sets come pre-paired and ready to wear. Just add some chunky gold jewelry and you're good to go. Once you've officially sweated through all your tank tops, head straight to your lingerie drawer. Style your sultriest lace number with a blokecore cargo skirt to nail the Instagram baddie vibe. In just a few short weeks, oversized Bermuda shorts have become the superhero of my own personal wardrobe. They can balance out a nearly-naked bra top just as well as they do an oversized T-shirt—and I highly recommend wearing them with both. We love an unexpected combo! A sporty polo with a pair of Parisian-esque capri pants makes absolutely no logical sense. And yet, it works so well. It's Chloé's world, and we're just living in it. Embrace the early-2000s boho vibe with a ruffled dress, statement belt, and a pair of strappy sandals. Though I would advise against wearing jeans in this heat, even I have to admit: This 'fit is a banger. Balance out all that fabric by pairing your favorite denim with your sheerest shirt. Then add a boujee-ass handbag, for good measure. Freeze! Step away from the LBD! A little red dress is just as versatile, but feels so much more summery. Reach for one of these the next time you have a summer wedding, dinner party, or promising Hinge date. This combo is a classic for a reason. A simple white tank styled with a floaty satin skirt will always, always, always give off effortlessly chic vibes. It's a fashion rule that quite literally never fails. 5 shorts outfits to keep you cool from linen to Bermuda, because it's too hot to wear anything else RN

Forget summer dresses or skirts, when it's this hot outside – as in 24-degree-plus, officially a heatwave weather – there's only one thing we're reaching for: shorts. Sometimes, a floaty dress or midi skirt just feels like too much fabric swamping your legs, while mini styles are practically asking for chafing. *Shudders.* Well, not only do shorts provide much less of a risk of chafing, but there are so many trending shorts styles to choose from this summer. So, if you've previously struggled to find a flattering pair, we can almost guarantee that will all change this szn. From Chloé's ruffled bloomers to Miu Miu's preppy chic Bermudas, the SS25 runway proved there was something for everyone and the high street has followed suit. Don't just take our word for it. Below, we've rounded up the biggest shorts trends to know about right now, plus the best ways to style your shorts outfits this summer. Nothing beats the easy breeziness of linen for surviving the heat, but when even your linen trousers feel too constricting, turn instead to a pair of linen shorts. Our favourite styles are easily linen boxers, styled with a coordinating oversized shirt for effortless polish. Sorry, micro shorts, summer 2025 is all about Bermuda shorts that fall *at least* to the knee. As there's more fabric on your bottom half, you can get away with your teeny tiniest crop top or a sheer lace cami without feeling too exposed. Bloomer shorts have emerged as a new trend this summer, right in time to see you through the boiling temps when all you really want to wear is, well, nothing. Bloomers are a close second, falling somewhere between knickers and shorts. We love the idea of contrasting against the ultra-feminine, coquette vibe with a sports jersey top. Sure, you might think denim would be counterintuitive for staying cool in hot weather. This season, however, denim shorts are cut in longer line silhouettes with wide legs, allowing for plenty of ventilation. While you can't go wrong with a t-shirt and flip flops to keep things casual, it's surprisingly easy to dress them up with a boho ruffle blouse and heeled sandals. For truly sweaty days, there's no other option than a pair of sports shorts. In the same way track pants were big news in autumn winter, athletic shorts have become a cool girl signifier in summer. Wear yours with an oversized tailored shirt, loafers and stacks of jewellery. Follow Alex on Instagram. Alexandria Dale is the Digital Fashion Writer at Cosmopolitan UK.
