2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 Breaks Cover, Here's What You Need To Know
The popular tourer returns with bold new shades but keeps its tried-and-tested engine and design.
Kawasaki has unveiled the 2026 edition of its much-loved adventure tourer – the Versys 650.
While the design remains familiar, the new model gets a splash of colour with three fresh paint options: Blue, Red, and Green.
These additions bring a modern twist to the bike's well-known silhouette without straying too far from its original character, as per Team Bhp.
Engine Specifications
Underneath the new colours, the Versys 650 remains mechanically unchanged. It continues to draw power from the reliable 649cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that delivers 66 BHP and 61 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a smooth 6-speed gearbox.
Features
The Versys 650 retains its rugged touring appeal with practical features like dual LED headlamps, a sporty short beak, and a comfortable stepped seat for both rider and pillion.
The bike's suspension setup includes an upside-down front fork and a mono-shock at the rear – perfect for absorbing bumps on rough terrain. Braking duties are handled by dual front discs and a single rear disc.
When is it coming to India?
The updated Versys 650 is expected to make its way to India by the end of this year. With no change in performance but a fresh visual appeal, it's likely to attract riders who love touring but also want to stand out.

Hero Mavrick 440 Discontinued, Here's Why The Most Premium Bike Failed To Impress
Last Updated: The Mavrick 440 shared its platform with the Harley-Davidson X440, which has seen relatively good success in the Indian market. Hero MotoCorp has quietly pulled the brakes on the Mavrick 440, its most premium motorcycle to date. Several dealers across Maharashtra have already stopped taking bookings, and the company has halted all dispatches to showrooms. As per Bikewale, Hero hasn't manufactured or shipped a single unit of the Mavrick 440 in the past three months. Even before that, the bike was struggling to cross triple-digit sales. Why Did It Fail? The Mavrick 440 was built on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440 — a bike that has seen far better success in the market. However, where Harley won buyers over, the Mavrick failed to strike a chord. Experts believe that weak marketing campaigns and lacklustre styling played a big part in the bike's downfall. It didn't look premium enough to justify its price tag, and it didn't manage to create the aspirational value that Indian buyers expect from a top-tier motorcycle. But even great performance sometimes isn't enough. Without strong brand positioning or standout looks, the Mavrick couldn't find a loyal customer base. What's Next for Hero MotoCorp? With the Mavrick 440 now off the shelves, Hero may focus on more budget-friendly offerings and rethink its premium strategy. The company might also look at partnerships and better marketing to avoid a similar fate for future launches. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Influencer says his Lamborghini Aventador that caught fire not scrapped
Last Updated: Bengaluru, Aug 4 (PTI) The owner of luxury car– Lamborghini Aventador that caught fire on a busy street here a couple of days ago, videos of which went viral on social media, has junked the claim that the vehciles has been scrapped. In an Instagram reel, influencer Sanjeev S, who is famously known as Nimma Mane Maga Sanju, showed that nothing happened to his vehicle despite the fire. 'The vehicle is very much here, as you can see it. Nothing happened to it. Only a little damage," pointed out Sanjeev in a reel posted on August 3. According to him, he took his family out on Saturday and while returning, the car caught fire at Kundalahalli. 'I had a fire extinguisher, which I always keep with me. I parked the vehicle to the side, so that people won't be inconvenienced. I then tried to douse the fire," he said. Meanwhile, many people were making videos of this, he said. 'They had uploaded it on YouTube and other social media platforms," he added. Sanjeev said in his Insta reel that people started trolling him about how he often goes to temples — and makes reels of them — and yet that could not save his car. 'But what do they know? It was God who sent me autorickshaw driver and a cab driver to help me put out the fire," said Sanjeev. A wire had caught fire due to petrol leakage; it has got nothing to do with the engineering of the car, said Sanjeev. 'Try to help people when they are facing a crisis instead of making videos," said the social media influencer. The viral videos, which show flames erupting from the rear of the expensive 4-wheeler where its engine is located, had people, including Managing Director of Raymond Group, Gautam Singhania, demanding the luxury car maker to take responsibility. Singhania posted on X: 'Another day, another Lamborghini in flames. This time in Bengaluru. This isn't a 'rare incident" anymore. It's a pattern." 'Why is Lamborghini silent??? Why are their cars catching fire??? Are their cars safe??? Should they be allowed in India???" The viral clips also show passersby rushing to pour water in an attempt to stop the fire. CM Rekha Gupta forms committees for new excise, EV policies in Delhi
Agency: PTI Last Updated: New Delhi, Aug 4 (PTI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday announced the constitution of two separate committees for the formulation of the excise policy and EV Policy 2.0. The excise policy committee will be headed by PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, while the electric vehicle policy committee will be headed by Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood, she said. In a post on X, the chief minister said, 'Keeping social security in focus, the Delhi government has constituted a high-level committee to formulate a transparent excise policy, which will be headed by Cabinet Minister Shri @p_sahibsingh. 'Additionally, a special committee has been formed under the leadership of Cabinet Minister Shri @ashishsood_bjp to develop an effective and public-oriented EV (Electric Vehicle) policy for Delhi. Our government is committed to the holistic development of Delhi and is continuously taking decisions in the public interest. #ViksitDelhi," she said. 'Our government is dedicated to the people of Delhi and is continuously taking decisions in public interest," Gupta had said earlier. Both the excise policy and EV policy have been extended multiple times in the absence of new policies. In June this year, the government extended its excise policy for the financial year 2025–26. The current policy was extended with effect from July 1 to March 31, 2026. The extended policy, also known as the old excise policy, came into operation in September 2022 after the then Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government scrapped its reformative policy (2021–22) that ran into rough weather amid allegations of irregularities in its formulation and implementation. The Delhi government had extended the current Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy until March 31, 2026, as the draft of the new policy will undergo public consultation, which is expected to take time, Transport Minister Pankaj Singh had said last month. The current EV policy, which was first introduced in 2020 during the previous Aam Aadmi Party rule, lapsed in August 2023. The policy has been extended several times since then.
