Peoria Riverfront Museum hosts its first ever car show as an exhibit send-off
Sunday was the last day of 'Built: American Custom Car Culture' at the museum.
Vintage cars, muscle cars and even a Batmobile lined Southwest Water Street, showcasing some of the coolest rides in central Illinois.
Everley Davis with the riverfront museum said it's the perfect send-off for the exhibit.
'What we wanted to do for the last day was to celebrate a piece of that car culture, which is car shows. We have a whole section out here with the slow pokes and their cars, and they were the first to produce a national car show and then just fill the rest of the space with amazing builds from our community,' said Davis.
The next exhibit taking the space will be the world's largest dinosaur from the American Museum of Natural History.

Jaguar CEO Adrian Mardell steps down after ‘woke' rebrand sparked massive social media firestorm
The Jaguar CEO is stepping down months after leading a controversial 'woke' rebrand campaign for the auto company. Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell is set to retire after three decades at the luxury car company and serving as CEO for three years, a spokesperson for the automaker announced on Thursday, Reuters reported. Advertisement The British car brand turned heads last year with its release of a new ad, which featured a reimagined logo under the slogan 'Copy Nothing.' The ad featured androgynous models in brightly colored, over-the-top outfits, including one man wearing a dress, along with other slogans such as 'create exuberant,' 'live vivid,' 'delete ordinary' and 'break moulds.' The ad did not feature a car throughout its entire 30-second run. The video blew up on social media, drawing tens of thousands of comments and nearly 47 million views in 24 hours. Jaguar Shortly after the ad premiered, X users piled onto the company for releasing what they called a 'Bud Light 2.0' campaign by appearing to focus on wokeness and modernism over selling cars. 'This just made me want to sell my Jaguar and I don't even own a Jaguar,' conservative corporate activist Robby Starbuck joked. 'Our brand relaunch for Jaguar is a bold and imaginative reinvention and, as expected, it has attracted attention and debate. As proud custodians at such a remarkable point in Jaguar's history, we have preserved iconic symbols while taking a dramatic leap forward. The brand reveal is only the first step in this exciting new era, and we look forward to sharing more on Jaguar's transformation in the coming days and weeks,' it said. Soon after, Jaguar took heat with the release of its new EV design that was called a 'pink Batmobile.' Jaguar did not immediately respond to FOX Business' request for comment.

Batmobile Replica For Sale Lets You Live Your Gotham Fantasies
Batman and Gotham City may be fictional DC Comics creations, but that doesn't mean you can't live out your superhero fantasies with a Batmobile of your own. This particular one is for sale on Exotic Car Trader, and you can check out the listing by clicking here. This Batmobile is built on the chassis of a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice LS and is titled as a 1994 Chevrolet. If you're curious as to why a Caprice was chosen as the base of this, the real Batmobile used two Chevrolet Impala chassis spliced together, resulting in a car that was about 20 feet long. Under the hood of this one is a reportedly new 305 cu in V8 engine mated to a new 700R4 automatic transmission, whereas the movie car used a 327 cu in V8. The 305 V8 sports a Holley EFI Sniper system that can be controlled from a screen within the cabin. Underneath is a new suspension with a new Wilwood dual master brake system, which includes new rotors, pads, calipers, and lines. Looks-wise, it's as close as you can get without being a certified movie prop. Based on the model introduced in Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns movies and driven by Michael Keaton, it comes complete with the satin black paint job, movie-correct lighting, pulsating side jet turbines, machine guns, and even a flamethrower that can shoot 8-foot flames behind the car. All four corners sit on airbags, so you can ride low and slow as The Caped Crusader to your local cars and coffee. Oh, and yes, it's all street legal. Thinking about selling your car? Get a value estimate and list it online with Exotic Car Trader. Click here to learn more. The cabin features Recaro seats, a carbon fiber dashboard, a carbon fiber wrap, a touchscreen console, and all of the gauges, dials, knobs, and lights that you could want, with some indicating vital car stats like oil pressure and temperature. Unlike Batman, you can bask in the luxury of air conditioning, Bluetooth audio, and the seven exterior cameras that I'm sure are much needed with something of this size. Better yet, a separate battery runs all of the lights and special effects, so you can flex in peace without worrying that you won't be able to drive away at the end of the show. I'm not a particularly massive Batman aficionado, but I can recognize a good replica when I see one, and this is it. Everything from the curves to the wings to the lights to the cabin is damn impressive and a clear indicator that money was no object when this Batmobile was built. I was fortunate enough to see one of the authorized Batmobiles at the Petersen Automotive Museum, and if you put the two next to each other, I couldn't tell the difference. The fact that the turbines pulse and that the rear jet can shoot eight-foot flames from the back is just the icing on top of the bat-shaped sundae. As you would expect, something of this magnitude won't sell for cheap, but the $275,000 asking price might be reasonable if you live and breathe Batman and a perfect Batmobile replica is just what you need in your driveway. Alicia Boler Davis, Veteran Leader in Autos, Tech, Logistics and Customer Experience, Named President of Ford Pro
DEARBORN, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ford Motor Company announced today that Alicia Boler Davis, an accomplished executive with more than 30 years of experience in automotive, technology, and customer experience, has been named president of Ford Pro, effective Oct. 1. She succeeds Andrew Frick, who has served as interim leader of Ford Pro since last year and will continue to lead Ford Blue and Ford Model e. Under Frick's leadership, Ford Pro grew market share in North America and Europe, delivered healthy margins, and started the focus on increasing aftermarket percentage of Pro EBIT through an unmatched ecosystem of vehicles, software, services and parts. He also worked closely with the dealer network as they have invested billions to strengthen their Pro business, especially in service capacity and their mobile service fleet. 'Alicia's unique skillset and experiences make her the ideal leader to guide Ford Pro into the next era – accelerating our move into software and services and growing Ford Pro's already strong profitability,' said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. 'She combines deep automotive and technology knowledge with an entrepreneurial and customer-obsessed mindset. Importantly, she builds high-performance teams and fosters a culture of innovation, speed and smart risk-taking.' Davis was most recently CEO of Alto Pharmacy, an online pharmacy that grew revenue to more than $1 billion under her leadership before its acquisition in March. From 2019 to 2024, she served in senior roles at Amazon, joining as vice president of global customer fulfillment and then promoted to senior vice president in 2022. In that role, she guided Amazon's global fulfillment network through the intense challenges of the COVID‑19 pandemic, driving major advances in robotics and technology that kept goods moving for millions of customers around the world. Before Amazon, Davis worked for 25 years at General Motors. She started as a manufacturing engineer and rose through leadership roles in manufacturing, quality and connected customer experience. In her final GM post – as executive vice president of global manufacturing and labor relations, reporting directly to the CEO – she oversaw 22 vehicle launches and managed 150 facilities in 20 countries. Davis, who was born in Detroit and had several family members, including her father and grandfather, who worked at Ford over the years, said the challenge of leading Ford Pro resonated deeply on a personal and professional level. 'I'm thrilled to return to a city and an industry that has meant so much to me, and join an iconic company like Ford,' Davis said. 'In many ways, my experiences and all I have learned in 30-plus years at GM, Amazon and Alto, have led to this opportunity to help Ford Pro reach its potential as an agile, technology-driven growth business that provides a competitive advantage for customers. If I had to create a role in the auto industry that would best utilize my experiences in both automotive and technology, it would be leading Ford Pro at this pivotal time.' Davis serves on the board of directors of JPMorgan Chase & Co. She holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern University, a master's degree in engineering science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.
