The community-led project, which began in 2022, will now cover over 500 locations, doubling its previous scale. The initiative is supported by more than 8,000 volunteers and aims to provide daily relief during peak summer temperatures. Each fridge is restocked twice a day and supplies essential refreshments, including milk, water, juice, and various ice cream products. Originally launched by Emirati founder Hamad Al Amiri, the project has grown rapidly through private donations, and corporate support. It also encourages neighbourhood participation, with residents and businesses volunteering fridges and stocking them throughout the summer.

Emirati man, his son and daughter killed in Al Ain accident
An Emirati family in Al Ain has been left devastated by the deaths of three of its members: a father and his two children. Their vehicle overturned on Al Razeen Road while they were travelling home from a rest area after dinner. The brother of the deceased reported that his brother and his children went to their rest house in a manor, where they had dinner before leaving it and heading home. On their way back, the car, which was carrying 6 people, including the father, three sons and a daughter, along with a domestic worker, overturned on the dirt road. The man, one of his sons, and his daughter were killed as result of the injures they sustained in the accident. The others were transferred to the hospital to receive treatment for the injuries they sustained. The uncle expressed his deep sorrow and faith in God's will and destiny. He asked God Almighty to grant them a place in His spacious gardens and to inspire them with patience in the face of their great loss. According to the Al Ain Funerals website, the funeral prayer was performed at Al Mutawa Mosque after the afternoon prayer, and they were laid to rest in Al Mutawa Cemetery in Al Ain.

Arab Parliament delegation visits UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish
29 June 2025 19:58 AL ARISH (WAM)A high-level delegation from the Arab Parliament, headed by Mohammed Ahmed Al Yammahi, President of the Arab Parliament, visited the UAE Floating Hospital in the city of Al Arish. The delegation conducted a comprehensive tour of the hospital's various departments and reviewed the medical and humanitarian services provided to the visit, the delegation members met with several Palestinian patients receiving treatment at the hospital and listened to their experiences regarding the level of healthcare and humanitarian support offered by the Emirati medical delegation was also briefed on the progress of 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,' in Al Arish, which is part of the UAE's efforts to support Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The delegation learned about the operation's management mechanism and the types of assistance being provided, which include food and health packages, kits for children and women, clothing packages for children, and other various relief aid. The hospital is staffed by specialised medical teams and equipped with advanced capabilities to deliver urgent medical care and psychosocial support to the Chivalrous Knight 3 began on November 5, 2023, under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to support the Palestinian people in Gaza. Since its launch, the UAE has provided over 70,000 tonnes of relief, medical, and food aid, demonstrating its deep commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
