South Korean actress Lee Si-young is pregnant with her second child, several months after her divorce.
The 43-year-old had confirmed in March that she and her then husband , restaurant entrepreneur Cho Seong-hyun, had split after submitting divorce documents to the Seoul Family Court earlier in 2025.
The actress married Mr Cho, who is nine years her senior, in September 2017. She gave birth to their son in January 2018.
Lee took to Instagram on July 8 to deliver the surprise announcement of her latest pregnancy.
'Eight years ago, when I had Jung-yoon, who is now the most important person in my life, I was not married and was filming a TV drama,' she wrote in Korean. 'I was younger at that time and had many shortcomings.'
Lee said as her son grew , she regretted spending her pregnancy in anxiety and negativity . She had vowed not to repeat the same regrets, if she was pregnant again.
'I prepared for my second child through in-vitro fertilisation during my marriage,' she added .
'The fertilised embryo was not implanted and, as time passed, the topic of divorce was raised. As all the legalities (of our marriage) were being sorted out, coincidentally, the time came for us to make a choice as the five-year embryo storage limit was almost up.'
Lee said she made the decision to have the embryos implanted , even though it was done without her former husband's consent.
'I had always wanted another child, and I didn't want to experience the regret I felt with Jung-yoon again,' she wrote. 'I couldn't bear the thought of disposing the embryos as they reached the end of their storage period.'
Lee said the only thing that kept her going through her difficult marriage was her son, who filled her with happiness, hope and inspiration.
'I had a miraculous child who made me feel like this life called 'motherhood' was the reason for my existence,' she said. 'I know there are a lot of challenges ahead, and I have had concerns about various scenarios, but all these aside, I want to believe that my choice is worth it.'
Mr Cho confirmed to South Korean media outlet Dispatch that he was initially against Lee's decision, as they are divorced. However, he said he would fulfil his responsibility as a father now that his former wife is pregnant with their second child.
'We have been communicating frequently, due to our first child,' he said. 'We will do our best to fulfil our respective roles by discussing the necessary aspects of giving birth and raising a second child.'
Lee made her acting debut in 2008 and rose to prominence in the hit K-drama Boys Over Flowers (2009) and the first season of reality variety show We Got Married in 2009 .
More recently, she acted in Netflix apocalyptic series Sweet Home (2020 to 2024), receiving favourable reviews for her role as Yi-kyung, a firefighter and former special forces soldier.
She is currently starring in comedy-action drama Salon De Holmes, playing one of the four housewives who become amateur sleuths in their neighbourhood while rediscovering their aspirations.

The hot girls are wearing animal prints—here's how to style them

Ah, animal prints. Beloved by fashion girls of all ages and basically a rite of passage at this point. You either wore it, or did your best to stay clear of it (and maybe failed). Last year, we saw leopard prints ruling the streets and Pinterest boards—worn as casual pants or flowy skirts, giving the print a softer, girl-next-door spin. But this year, the spread is expanding into a full-fledged wildlife fever dream. On top of leopard, black-and-white zebra stripes have joined the mix, and even snakeskin is back—showing up in fun colourways and exciting silhouettes. And the best part? The myriad range of styling possibilities—now that the print pool's grown, the way they're being worn has also loosened up. Pop princess Dua Lipa recently attended the Monaco F1 Grand Prix in a yellow leopard print top from Coperni, layered under a dark jacket—putting an edgy motorsport spin on the classic. Meanwhile, K-pop superstar Lisa caused a stir with her snakeskin mini dress in the teaser images for her collaboration with Maroon 5. The audacious print also made its way to the stage, with Tate McRae recently performing at Pinkpop in a blue snakeskin matching set. And the Katseye girls are no strangers to the trend either—with Lara showing up in a hot pink leopard mini dress, and Megan in a layered mini skirt mixing leopard with hot pink zebra stripes. Whether you're going casual, remixing prints, or slipping into something loud and directional, there's always room to experiment. And if full looks still feel a little daunting, accessories are the perfect entry point—consider a printed scarf or even a carryall for a quieter kind of roar. Below, see Vogue 's take on how to wear the punchy print this season—whether you're easing into the look or embracing full fever dream mode. @dualipa 1 / 20 Motorcore: Dua Lipa Courtesy of Coperni 2 / 20 Coperni top, $307 Available at Coperni. Chanel shows haute couture in private salon setting at Grand Palais

Models emerged from an ornate entrance, parading long- skirted dresses in soft toned tweeds, with touches of sparkles and tufts of feathers. They wore tight buns and tall boots, which left u-shaped heel indentations in the plush carpet. Colors were muted, mostly ivory, beige and brown, but one silky dress came in a pale silvery blue, worn under a short, yellow-toned bomber jacket with a prominent, feathery collar. The show was held in the Salon d'Honneur, a smaller space of the freshly-restored Grand Palais, marking a contrast with the soaring, central exhibition hall usually favored by the label. Facing a prolonged slump, many labels in the high end fashion industry are renewing their design approach, with Kering-owned Gucci and Balenciaga, and LVMH's Dior among labels that have recently named new designers. After the show, guests lingered, making their way slowly down grand staircases, stopping for photos of the building's elaborate ironwork and gilded wall decorations. The Paris fall-winter haute couture fashion shows run through Thursday, featuring runway outings from labels Schiaparelli, Iris van Herpen and Imane Ayissi, as well as Giorgio Armani Prive, Maison Margiela and Balenciaga.
