Love Island USA Season 7 fans call for Cierra Ortega to be dumped after racist TikTok resurfaces: ‘She needs to go like Yulissa'

Love Island USA Season 7 star Cierra Ortega is facing backlash after a resurfaced TikTok video in which she used a racist slur against Asians went viral online. The clip, which quickly went viral, has sparked widespread outrage, leading to a loss of over 200,000 Instagram followers and calls for a boycott. Although the video is from years ago, it recently resurfaced amid her rising popularity on the reality show. The controversy comes on the heels of accusations that producers have been giving Cierra preferential treatment over other contestants. What Asian racist slur did Cierra Ortega use in her now-viral TikTok? In the now-viral TikTok post that was originally shared in 2020, Love Island USA star Cierra Ortega shared a photo of herself pouting inside what appears to be a doctor's office while undergoing cosmetic procedures. She captioned the image: 'Botox isn't for everyone, but I love it for me! I'm incredibly expressive with my face, and I catch myself frowning for no reason throughout the day when I'm focusing or thinking too hard lol.' However, the backlash stems from a later part of the caption where Cierra used a racial slur against Asians, describing her smile as 'a little ch*nky'. She went on to say, 'I can also be a little chubby when I laugh or smile, so I love getting a mini brow lift to open up my eyes and get that snatched look. This is not me encouraging, but more so sharing.' In another Instagram post from 2015, she was seen using the same slur as she captioned it, "Still ch*nkin' at the top." The screenshots of both posts have now gone viral. something very crazy to me about Cierra using a slur twice and being friends with racists like brooke schofield and then having the audacity to bully other women at her grown adult age on live television.. not only a racist but also a massive loser #loveislandusa Cierra loses nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram Cierra, who was on track to hit one million followers on Instagram, has seen a massive drop in her follower count since the controversy erupted. Before the backlash, she had 921,000 followers, but that number has now plunged to around 727,000, and it continues to fall by the second. something very crazy to me about Cierra using a slur twice and being friends with racists like brooke schofield and then having the audacity to bully other women at her grown adult age on live television.. not only a racist but also a massive loser #loveislandusa Fans demand Cierra be dropped from the villa Notably, another contestant, Yulissa Escobar, was abruptly removed from the Love Island USA villa with little explanation from narrator Iain Stirling during Season 7's second episode, which aired on June 4. Unlike typical eliminations, where contestants are voted off by the public or their fellow Islanders, Escobar's exit came without any on-screen acknowledgement. The 27-year-old Miami businesswoman had become the centre of controversy after clips surfaced of her using a racial slur on a podcast. The backlash online was massive, with fans vowing to vote her off at the first opportunity. Now, many are calling for Cierra to face similar consequences and be dumped from the villa as well. One user wrote, "Something very crazy to me about Cierra using a slur twice and being friends with racists like Brooke Schofield and then having the audacity to bully other women at her grown adult age on live television… not only a racist but also a massive loser." Another mentioned, "Why has Cierra not been dropped from the villa? She's fucking racist, using slurs. Y'all got Yulissa up out of there quick, but not Cierra???" why has cierra not been dropped from the villa,,,, she's fucking racist using slursyall got yulissa up out of there quick but not cierra ??? @loveislandusa #loveislandusa "Cierra posted this TikTok video ON HER OWN FREE WILL on 6.14.20 using the same slur she did in the IG story. At this point, if the producers choose to ignore this, they're rigging it, and for what? To defend a racist?" last thing…. cierra posted this tiktok video ON HER OWN FREE WILL on 6.14.20 using the same slur she did in the ig story. at this point if the producers choose to ignore this they're rigging and for what? to defend a racist? #LoveIslandUSA @loveislandusa @peacock "Quickly adding to this because it's gaining traction… the fact that Yulissa was pushed out for saying a slur but Cierra has been saying the same slur for YEARS and hasn't been packed up is wild. You can't allow one and not the other. Racism is Racism," a third fan noted. quickly adding to this bc it's gaining traction.. the fact that yulissa was pushed out for saying a slur but cierra has been saying the same slur for YEARS and hasn't been packed up is wild. you can't allow one and not the other @loveislandusa @peacock racism is racism! One person mentioned, "Cierra is racist, saying slurs, and overall a fake person; please get her out of the villa immediately along with Austin, Ace and Zak." Cierra racist, saying slurs, and overall a fake person pls get her out of the villa immediately along with Austin, Ace and Zak "Love Island USA Cierra needs to be gone like Yulissa; she used a racial slur as well. We can't pick and choose to save the show. She and Nic were running stale anyway. I have a huge problem with the producers enabling all of the cast's terrible behaviour," one fan wrote. #LoveIslandUSA Cierra needs to be gone like yulissa she used a racial slur as well. We can't pick and choose to save the show. Her and Nic were running stale anyway. I have a huge problem with the producers enabling all of the cast's terrible behavior. The showrunners have yet to address the controversy, and since phones aren't allowed inside the villa, Cierra is most likely unaware of the situation unfolding outside and has not responded. Meanwhile, fans online continue to amplify boycott calls and demand action. Love Island USA Season 7 airs daily on Peacock, with new episodes dropping every night except Wednesdays. Love Island Season 7 editing errors revealed

Love Island Season 7 is back. But the latest offering of the popular reality show seems to be catching more eyeballs for its editing slips rather than the steamy participants. Eagle-eyed viewers have been quick to spot multiple editing gaffes in the latest season and poke fun at them. Love Island USA Season 7 (Love Island USA) During episode 8 which aired on June 10, a noticeable slip appeared during a game of 'pucker or pie' in the Fiji Villa. Olandria Carthen stood in front of the audience and asked her fellow islanders, 'Which islander do you think is most likely to take a relationship to make it to the final?" In a hilarious yet awkward moment, the scene cuts to Carthen seated on the bleachers behind Cierra Ortega and Nic Vansteenberghe, reacting to the question with shock. Orange to blue New Islander Vanna Einderson was seen chatting with TJ Palma during a Casa Amor episode. The scene showed her starting the conversation with an orange cup in hand which promptly switches to a blue one mid-conversation. The much-anticipated Casa Amor twist kicked off on the show in the episode aired on June 23. Also read: Love Island USA: Huda and Chris make up with passionate kiss after pancake drama Bathing suit to bikini Carthen's stint with editing errors continued in a subsequent episode when her former beau Taylor Williams pulled her in for a conversation after being paired up with Clarke Carraway in the Casa Amor shift. The scene started with Carthen in a black bikini which instantly switched to a brown one-piece mid-scene with no explanation. Huda Mustafa's side-eye One of the major editing slips happened during a particular episode where Jeremiah Brown was seen bringing Iris Kendall and Andreina Santos breakfast in their dressing room, an action read as 'making a move' in the Love Island universe. The scene cuts to Brown's former flame Huda Mastafa making a side glance at the move. Many viewers pointed out gaps in this edit by claiming that Mustafa wasn't even present in the room for this to happen. As per USA Today, a team of 30 editors and 20 producers (as of 2024) is responsible for making sure that the 24-hour-long footage recorded at the villa gets cut and parceled into an hour-long episode by the next evening. Also read: 'Love Island USA' voting now open: Here's how to vote for your favorite contestant "A lot of people look at conversations and they seem a little bit cut up or they seem very short. You're only seeing two to three minutes of maybe like two to three hour long conversations," explained Season 5 cast member Johnny Garcia in a TikTok posted on June 19. "So just remember that. It's easy to cut thing up, and it's easy to make things look a certain way." The show also makes use of opaque cups to avoid visible continuity errors that might be spotted with the liquid levels in transparent glasses. New episodes of Love Island Season 7 are released daily (except Wednesdays) at 9 PM ET on Peacock. By Stuti Gupta

Love Island USA Season 7 Episode 27 release date and time: After mailbox challenge, what to expect next as race to finale heats up

Love Island USA Season 7 Episode 27 release date and time: As Love Island USA Season 7 inches closer to the finale, things inside the villa are getting tense. With Casa Amor in the rearview mirror, everyone's trying to rebuild connections and figure out who's actually in it for the right reasons, but it's pretty clear not everyone's on the same page. Nic and Cierra, who had been floating around on their own for most of the season, surprised everyone by making things official. Their sudden decision to close off raised more eyebrows than applause, with fans online questioning whether it's love or just a smart move to secure a spot in the final. Huda and Chelley, once inseparable in the villa, have clearly grown distant. Chris has somehow landed in the middle of it all, and Ace finally got called out in a way that felt long overdue. As for Zak and Amaya, their connection, which once showed promise, is starting to crumble, and the race to the finale is getting more intense than ever. Love Island USA Season 7 Episode 26 recap: Anonymous truths shake the villa Episode 26 of Love Island USA Season 7 took a dramatic turn with the introduction of the mailbox challenge, which let the islanders air their grievances anonymously. While the challenge was designed to stir up drama, no one expected it to unravel the villa so quickly. What began as cheeky anonymous messages quickly turned personal. Amaya, who's struggled all season to find a genuine connection, was left in tears after receiving a note that accused her of coming on too strong. When she tried to defend herself, she was met with harsh judgement from several of the boys, leaving her visibly hurt and isolated. Her connection with Zak, which once seemed promising after Casa Amor, began to fall apart. Amaya called him out for giving mixed signals and not putting in the effort, ultimately questioning whether he was there for the right reasons. Elsewhere, the tension reached new heights when Pepe questioned Chelley, Olandria, and Cierra about their decision to vote out Hannah, calling into question the group's loyalty and motives. Meanwhile, Huda and Chris were pulled into the drama, and Taylor's uncertain feelings between Olandria and Clarke were pushed into the spotlight. The mailbox messages forced Taylor to reconsider his position, and it became clear he was leaning away from Olandria, leaving her confused about where they stood. The challenge left the villa more divided than ever, and it would be interesting to see if the girls, who once thrived on the sisterhood, will work on rebuilding their bond or simply focus on their individual game ahead of the finale. What to expect in Love Island USA Season 7 episode 27 As Episode 27 approaches, the focus will likely remain on the aftermath of the confrontations and the fragile dynamics among the remaining islanders. Nic and Cierra's new relationship status will be put under the microscope, both by their fellow castmates and by viewers who still suspect their connection may be more performative than real. Whether they can withstand the scrutiny or crumble under it remains to be seen. Huda, still reeling from the group's backlash, may either retreat or push back harder, and her triangle with Chelley and Chris could take a messy turn. With Jeremiah now single and feeling sidelined, there's potential for new alliances or more friction. The atmosphere in the villa is tense, and Episode 27 could be the tipping point that defines who makes it to the final recoupling and who gets left behind.
