CM: BRS machinations hampering job allotments
Participating in the Gurukula award function at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Reddy blamed the Opposition party for hatching a political conspiracy and creating hurdles for issuing appointment orders of Group-1. He said that the previous regime did not want SC, ST and BC students to study, rather it wanted them to pursue traditional caste professions. Hence, they have come up with schemes like goat, sheep and fish distribution schemes, he said.
'Why did the BRS not take any steps to encourage the weaker sections as stakeholders in the government by providing education? Isn't it true that they played with the lives of the unemployed for 10 years without releasing job notifications? he asked.
The Chief Minister criticised the Opposition for giving posts to their family members in just six months after the poll debacle and preventing genuinely deserving youngsters from getting jobs.
He said that in a welcome contrast, the present government has already filled 59,000 government jobs and had conducted Group 1 exams.
'The last government had not even conducted Group 1 exams and is now obstructing by filing cases in courts. Today, the issue has become a social problem,' said Revanth Reddy.
Revanth Reddy pointed out that the government has appointed the first Dalit Vice-chancellor in the 100 years of Osmania University's history. The government also appointed Aakunuri Murali as the Chairman of the Education Commission and Gaddam Prasad Kumar as the Assembly Speaker. All of them have been recognised because of their educational background and not caste. The future of the country lies in the classrooms, he stressed.

"As per Article 170 sub-clause 3 of the Constitution, the delimitation exercise should be taken up in 2026. The SC dismissed the petition filed by one Purushottam Reddy a couple of days ago. But SC delivered the judgment as per Section 26 of the AP Reorganisation Act, subject to the provisions of Article 170," the ex-MP said. In the AP Reorganisation Act, instead of 'subject to' it should have been 'notwithstanding' to take up the delimitation of seats in both Telangana and AP 10 years ago. This issue was brought to the notice of the then UPA govt and also the Modi govt, but it was not taken up by both the govts, Vinod Kumar said. On women's reservations in legislative assemblies and Parliament, the BRS leader said the Women's Reservation Bill was passed in both Houses and would come into effect only after the completion of the Census.

Shabbir seeks BRS' stand on inclusuion of Muslims under BC quota

He questioned whether BRS leaders, including former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and former ministers KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, were supporting the BJP's demand to remove BC-E Muslims from the BC category or backing the Congress' efforts to enhance the BC quota. "Despite several clarifications that the BC quota is not based on religion, the BJP has been trying to polarise the issue. The silence of BRS leaders on BJP's stand raises suspicions that they may be supporting the removal of Muslims from the BC list," Shabbir Ali said. He said that the Congress govt is fighting the case in the Supreme Court to safeguard and uphold this reservation. He further stated that the proposed 42% BC reservation in local body elections would also benefit Muslims classified under BC-E, ensuring their political representation and social upliftment.

Mahadevappa to discuss SC and ST employees benefits with min concerned
Mysuru: State social welfare and district minister HC Mahadevappa said that he would make his best efforts to get promotions and other benefits for SC and ST employees working in the department of rural development and panchayat raj institutions after discussing with the minister concerned. He was speaking after inaugurating the state-level convention of the RDPR department SC and ST employees and the newly formed RDPR department SC and ST Employees Association at the Senate Hall in Manasagangothri. "The state govt has constituted a committee to oversee the issues related to promotions for govt employees. Even the vigilance committee in the department of social welfare will take care of issues related to promotions," he said. The minister also highlighted the role of employees of the RDPR department in the development of villages, where 65% of the population lives in harmony. H e also recalled the contributions of BR Ambedkar, programmes in the Constitution for the empowerment of SC/STs, and other vulnerable sections in society. Ambedkar played a key role in granting voting rights to scheduled castes, tribes, and women in the country. Minister Mahadevappa also hailed the contributions of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in bringing the 74th amendment to the Constitution for the introduction of a three-tier system of local governance. This amendment also provided 50% reservation for women to be represented in panchayat bodies. Many SC and ST panchayat members, including women, were elected and enjoyed positions in decision-making bodies of the local governance system among 6,200 gram panchayats in the state, he said. Urilingapeddi Mutt Jnanaprakash Swami, MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, MLA AR Krishnamurthy, ZP CEO S Ukeshkumar, former Mayor Purushottam, and others were present.
