The Dubai Press Club has concluded the third week of the second edition of the Arab Podcast Programme, delivering a series of immersive workshops and expert-led sessions that delved into the essential components of podcast production. The training brought together prominent Arab podcasters and media professionals who shared valuable insights into the creative and technical processes behind successful audio content creation.
This initiative aligns with Dubai's wider vision of fostering a future-oriented media landscape rooted in innovation, creativity and the nurturing of regional talent. By offering hands-on, practical learning opportunities, the programme supports the rise of new Arab voices in the expanding podcast industry and reinforces the role of Arabic content in the global digital space.
Over the course of the week, participants engaged in interactive training modules that addressed critical elements of podcast development, including scriptwriting, interview techniques, sound design, production workflows and multi-platform distribution strategies. Special attention was also given to the growing prominence of video podcasting and the effective use of platforms like TikTok to amplify audience reach.
Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, said the programme is aligned with the Club's ongoing efforts to enhance media capabilities across the region. It also reflects Dubai's commitment to shaping the future of Arab media by investing in talent and fostering a culture of innovation.
'At the Dubai Press Club, we are committed to keeping pace with the evolving global media landscape. The Arab Podcast Programme provides a fully integrated experience for audio content creators – from training and mentorship to applied learning – helping them turn their ideas into high-quality audio content that can resonate on a global scale,' she said.
'Our aim is to support the development of a new generation of audio content creators who embody the creativity, vision and cultural depth of the Arab world,' she added.
Mahfoudha Abdullah, Media Talent Development Lead at the Dubai Press Club, stated the growing popularity of podcasting in the Arab region is a sign of its relevance and potential for impact.
'Podcasting has become a powerful tool for storytelling, dialogue, and cultural exchange. Through this Programme, we focus on the key ingredients for success, including high-quality content, strong production techniques and a distinct audio identity. The goal is to equip participants with the insight and tools needed to create content that stands out.'
As part of the third week's activities, participants began working on individual podcast projects to put their newly acquired skills into practice. These projects were assessed by a specialist panel, offering constructive feedback and helping determine readiness for the next phase of the programme.
Training sessions during the week tackled core areas such as idea development, content planning, audio branding, interview curation and digital platform optimization. Attendees explored how to boost discoverability, tap into trending content, and apply data analytics to improve audience engagement and reach.
The Arab Podcast Programme continues to play a vital role in advancing Dubai's position as a leading hub for media innovation. By investing in emerging voices and promoting the growth of Arabic digital content, the initiative supports the broader goal of building a sustainable, forward-looking media ecosystem throughout the region.
