Kempegowda International Airport unveils Rhythm of BLR

Bengaluru, Aug 4 (PTI) Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) on Monday announced that it has unveiled its signature sonic identity 'Rhythm of BLR".
It has been developed in collaboration with sonic branding experts BrandMusiq.
This unique musical expression is a central part of the 'Feels Like BLR' campaign envisioned to transform the airport from a transit point into a space that truly connects with people.
'Rooted in the melodic framework of the BLR Airport Anthem, composed by Grammy® Award-winning artist Padma Ricky Kej, Rhythm of BLR is a multisensory narrative that blends tradition with global influences. Drawing from Carnatic sounds like the mandolin and mridangam, and harmonised with Western acoustic and electric guitars, piano, and a vibrant sing-along chorus, the identity becomes a rich jugalbandi of heritage and modernity," Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) said in a statement.
Hari Marar, Managing Director and CEO, BIAL, said, 'Every journey begins and ends with emotions. At BLR Airport, we've always believed that travel should connect not just places, but people, feelings, and memories. Rhythm of BLR is an extension of that belief — a sonic expression of Bengaluru's spirit that welcomes you, comforts you, and stays with you long after you've left the airport.
'For us, this isn't just a sound, rather a part of our identity, a reminder that you're home, or on your way to something special." 'A powerful sonic identity starts with emotional clarity," said Rajeev Raja, founder and Soundsmith, BrandMusiq.
'The identity was shaped through a thoughtful, three-stage creative process, beginning with a deep-dive into the airport's brand personality.
'Guided by Indian emotional frameworks such as the Navarasas, and the brand's own narrative of transformation and magic, we worked to translate the brand's purpose and personality into a soundscape that expresses Shringara (warmth), Veera (inspiration) and Hasya (delight), central to the BLR Airport experience. Actors Rubina Dilaik and husband Abhinav Shukla believe that there is a need to introduce respectful working hours in television. Rubina is a well-known name in the television industry and has been a part of shows such as "Chotti Bahu" and "Saas Bina Sasural". She was also the winner of the popular reality show "Bigg Boss" season 14. While Shukla has featured in shows like "Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka", "Chhoti Bahu" and "Diya Aur Baati Hum". Shukla said there are many professions that require extra hours but it's wrong if one is forced to do it and doesn't get paid for it. "You cannot bind someone saying, 'You work for eight hours only'. A police officer, a traffic cop or a doctor works for more than 16 to 18 hours, even pilots and our jawans work for long hours. So, till the time it is not being forced, and you're doing it because you've agreed to, then there's no harm in it. If someone forces you and even doesn't pay you, then it's wrong,' he said. Homes, Hotels, Trees, Cars Swept Away: Before-After Images Show Flashflood Havoc In Uttarkashi
Last Updated: Four people were killed and at least 130, who were initially feared trapped, have been rescued in Dharali, a key stopover to Gangotri and has many hotels, restaurants and homestays Massive flashfloods — most likely triggered by a cloudburst — in the quaint Himalayan village of Dharali in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district, swept away homes, hotels, cars, and trees leaving a trail of destruction behind. Four people were killed and at least 130, who were initially feared trapped, have been rescued in the village that is a key stopover on the route to Gangotri, the origin of the Ganges, and also houses many hotels, restaurants and homestays. Before-after images of the village show the scale of devastation. Contiguous buildings, including three and four-storey houses, fell like a pack of cards as the surging waters washed over them. The devastating flashflood came in the wake of a cloudburst somewhere in the catchment area of the Kheer Ganga river. The raging waters flowed down two different sides of the same hill, one towards Dharali and the other towards the village of Sukki, he said. Landslides have blocked 163 roads, including five national highways, seven state highways and two border roads across the state, further impeding rescue and preventing personnel from getting to the far-flung area, about 140 km from the state capital Dehradun and usually a five-hour drive. Uttarakhand principal secretary RK Sudhanshu said 40 to 50 buildings have been damaged. Local residents said a large portion of the Dharali market was washed away. Rajesh Panwar, an eyewitness to the horror of nature's relentless fury, told PTI that about 20 to 25 hotels and homestays may have been washed away. There was widespread panic in the neighbouring villages following the flashflood. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said no stone is being left unturned in providing assistance to the people. 'I express my condolences to the people affected by this tragedy in Dharali, Uttarkashi. Along with this, I pray for the well-being of all the victims. I have spoken to Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami ji and obtained information about the situation. Under the supervision of the state government, relief and rescue teams are engaged in every possible effort," he said. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke to Dhami and ordered the dispatch of seven rescue teams to assist the affected people. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the Centre and the state government are working in tandem, taking all possible measures to save precious lives. Dhami, who was in Andhra Pradesh, cancelled his trip to return to Dehradun. He said he is constantly in touch with senior officials and the situation is being closely monitored. 'The news of heavy losses due to cloudburst in Dharali (Uttarkashi) area is extremely sad and painful. SDRF, NDRF, district administration and other related teams are engaged on war footing in relief and rescue operations," he said in a post on X.
