Horner says being Red Bull F1 boss was 'biggest privilege'
Sky Sports television ran a video clip of the gathering at the Milton Keynes factory with the 51-year-old addressing the team for the last time as principal.
"Yesterday I was informed by Red Bull that operationally I would no longer be involved with the business or the team moving forward from after this gathering," he said.
"I will still remain employed by the company but operationally the baton will be handed over. And that obviously came as a shock.
"What I have had time to do is to reflect over the last 12 hours or so and I wanted to stand in front of all of you and just express my gratitude to each and every single member of the team that has given so much during the last 20 and a half years."
Horner recalled how, after Red Bull took over the Jaguar team in 2005, he had walked into two run-down buildings and began working towards building what became a powerhouse in Formula One.
"Watching and being part of this team has been the biggest privilege in my life," he said, to applause from the assembled employees. REUTERS

England's Archer keen to play remaining India tests, Ashes
LONDON - After missing four years of test duty due to injury, England speedster Jofra Archer is keen to make up for lost time and says he wants to play the final two tests against India and prove he deserves a place in the squad for the Ashes series in Australia. "Obviously it would have been the format which would have taken the most time to come back to. So I played 50-over and T20 for the last year and a half, two years," he said. "The guys have played some really exciting cricket since Baz took over. I think the mentality of the team under Baz suits the way I like to play my cricket. "I just couldn't wait to get back and actually do it without having to be prompted to do it." The fourth test against India begins on July 23 in Manchester. REUTERS

Britain's Rowland takes Formula E title with two races to spare
BERLIN :Nissan's Oliver Rowland won the Formula E title for the first time and with two races to spare on Sunday, the Briton becoming the all-electric series' 10th different champion in the space of 11 seasons. Rowland had needed to lead Pascal Wehrlein by 59 points after the second of two races in Berlin, the championship's penultimate weekend, and he did it by finishing fourth with his Porsche rival only 16th despite starting on pole. The Briton now has 184 points with Wehrlein on 125. Sunday's race at Berlin's old Tempelhof airport was won by Jaguar's Nick Cassidy, completing a weekend sweep after teammate Mitch Evans won on Saturday, with Andretti's Jake Dennis second and Jean-Eric Vergne third for DS Penske. The final two races of the season are in London on July 26-27. It was the first time a Japanese manufacturer had won the championship.

TV Globo regains F1 broadcast rights in Brazil from 2026

The broadcaster held the rights for more than 40 years until Bandeirantes took over in 2021. The deal will give Brazilian fans free-to-air live access to 15 of the 24 races while the remainder will be on Globo's pay channel, sportv. No financial details were given. With 20-year-old Sauber rookie Gabriel Bortoleto, last year's Formula Two champion, Brazil has a full-time Formula One driver on the grid this season for the first time since Felipe Massa retired in 2017. Brazil, home country of world champions Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet and the late Ayrton Senna, also has the only South American round of the championship with a race at Sao Paulo's Interlagos circuit.
