Benjamin Alves expresses pride for Andrea Torres ahead of 'Akusada' premiere
Benjamin Alves penned an appreciation post for his co-star, Andrea Torres, on Monday ahead of the premiere of their new series, "Akusada," on GMA Afternoon Prime on the same day.
On Instagram, Ben shared recent photos of himself and Andrea, as well as photos of their old projects together.
"Dre, before our soap and this journey begins, I just want to say how proud I am of you. To witness you go through the ups and downs of this business and come out as a stronger, more talented, and focused woman - it truly makes me happy," he wrote in the caption.
According to Ben, he and Andrea have both attended the same acting workshops in the past as they attempted to "figure out who we are in this business."
"I'm glad to see your goals, and who you really are, manifest - to the audience, but more so, to yourself," he said.
He also thanked Andrea for letting him be her leading man in "Akusada."
"I hope I'm giving you plenty to work with on set. Finally, after so many years of doing one-off specials - we finally get to do a full feature soap! As a cast and family of 'Akusada,' we are so excited and honored to have you lead us in this wonderful and engaging story," he said.
"Akusada," directed by award-winning director Dominic Zapata, premieres on June 30 at 4 p.m.
It follows the story of a woman named Carolina (Andrea) who changes her identity to Lorena Herrera and lives a new life after being accused of a crime she did not commit.
Aside from Ben and Andrea, it also stars Lianne Valentin, Marco Masa, Aaron Villena, Ashley Sarmiento, Arnold Reyes, and more.
Catch it from Mondays to Fridays on GMA Afternoon Prime at 4 p.m.

Paul Salas reacts over viral video of performance in Palawan
Paul Salas has addressed the viral video showing a fan falling on the floor during his performance in Palawan. On Facebook, Kapuso actor shared a fan-taken video showing him warmly engaging with the audience during a performance. In the clip, a female fan approached him for a photo, and after their sweet interaction, Paul unknowingly took her chair, thinking it was empty. Moments later, the fan attempted to sit back down—only to fall when the chair was no longer there. The video, which was uploaded by Shamel Ledesma Aguirre on Facebook, has now gone viral with 13 million views and over 200,000 reactions as of writing. Reacting to the viral video, Paul humorously acknowledged the chair mishap, saying "Hindi naman kasi sa akin ang upuan kuha ako ng kuha." Kiefer Ravena and Diana Mackey will be having a second wedding soon! The newly married couple guested in 'Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" Monday where they shared that they have already come up with a 'fun' hashtag for their second wedding in August in El Nido, Palawan. 'We have a one fun one para sa August wedding namin. That's a different hashtag,' Diana shared. Kiefer also shared why they chose Palawan as the destination of their second wedding. 'We're gonna have one soon kasi nga in Palawan that's where I really felt it, that she was gonna be the one,' he shared. 'So we wanted to bring back and celebrate a good time in Palawan, in El Nido, with our friends over there in Angkla just to bring back and share how we all started and celebrate it with our friends,' he added. The couple got engaged last October and tied the knot early this June. In March, Diana and Kiefer announced on social media that they were expecting their first child.
