‘Dark cloud of Meghan Markle': Ex-BFF Jessica Mulroney regrets royal wedding role that ‘blew up' her life
Meghan Markle's now-estranged best friend Jessica Mulroney doesn't exactly look back on their friendship fondly, in fact, she might just be hating it now. As per a Daily Mail report, Jessica believes the controversy that nearly derailed her career and shoved her out of the spotlight might never have happened if she hadn't been part of Meghan and Harry's 2018 wedding. Years later, with her 16-year marriage to Ben Mulroney over, she's back in the news, and now reportedly calling that royal friendship one of her biggest regrets. Also read: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to handle Netflix crisis Obama-style as bankruptcy rumours grow; new projects in pipeline Meghan and Jessica's friendship goes way back, long before the Duchess met Harry. They once considered each other family, but things went downhill in 2020. That year, Jessica was accused of racist behaviour by Canadian influencer Sasha Exeter, and the fallout was instant. She was dropped by brands, stepped away from TV, and went into full damage-control mode. Her husband, Ben Mulroney, then a well-known Canadian TV host, also quit his job to support her. Insiders now say that Jessica's fame, exposure, and the constant media glare blew the controversy out of proportion, something that might've faded quietly had she not been linked to Meghan. 'If she could go back, a part of her wishes she was never in Meghan and Prince Harry's 2018 wedding,' a source said. 'While she enjoyed all the attention back then, that same exposure is what made the social media fallout explode, leading not just to the end of her friendship with Meghan, but also the breakdown of her marriage.' Jessica once claimed they were still close, even after the scandal, and called Meghan 'kind.' But now, she reportedly sees that entire chapter of her as a 'dark cloud.' They haven't been seen together or mentioned each other online since 2021. Also read: Meghan Markle could be making millions a week; experts reveal the one product that might turn into a goldmine Since then, the stylist has only made headlines for her cryptic Instagram posts nd quiet nods to her struggles. In 2023, she called out people who were 'looking for a way to be against' her. In earlier posts, she admitted she'd 'lost friends' after the scandal. Jessica and Ben have now decided to end their 16-year marriage. The couple, who share three kids, daughter Ivy and twin sons Brian and John, are heading for divorce. Page Six reported they separated a while ago, and Jessica was recently spotted at a wedding in Toronto where she reportedly told guests she felt 'sad, but also relieved' to finally have some clarity. Meghan and Jessica's friendship began on the sets of Suits in Toronto, and the duo instantly clicked over their shared choices in fashion, fitness, and career approaches. Jessica was reportedly also the one behind Meghan's wedding dress choice that her character, Rachel Zane, wore in the legal drama. The stylist was later spotted at the Sussexes' wedding as one of the prominent guests, and her twins took on the role of the page boys.

'Son of Sardaar 2' Box Office collection day 1: Ajay Devgn-Mrunal Thakur's film mints Rs 6.75 crore; beats Triptii Dimri-Siddhant Chaturvedi's 'Dhadak 2' on opening day
Ajay Devgn 's much-awaited comedy-drama 'Son of Sardaar 2' finally hit cinemas on 1 August 2025 after facing several delays. A sequel to the 2012 hit 'Son of Sardaar', this instalment sees Devgn reprise his role as Jassi Randhawa in a new, love-fuelled adventure. Despite the star's strong fan following and a wide release across the country, the film had a modest start at the box office. Son Of Sardaar 2 Movie Review Modest start but fails to be 'Raid 2' According to early estimates by Sacnilk, 'Son of Sardaar 2' collected approximately Rs 6.75 crore on its first day. While the numbers aren't bad, they're not record-breaking either, especially when compared to Ajay Devgn's earlier 2025 release, 'Raid 2', which made a much stronger Rs 19.25 crore on its opening day. Occupancy on day 1 The occupancy rate for shows across India on the opening Friday was 22.56%, with night shows witnessing the highest turnout at 40.27%. Morning shows recorded just 10.24%, while the afternoon and evening shows managed 17.88% and 21.84%, respectively. 'Son of Sardaar 2' vs ' Dhadak 2 ' The film faced strong competition on its opening day from another big release—Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi 's 'Dhadak 2'. While the romantic drama collected Rs 3.35 crore on Day 1, Ajay Devgn's comedy came out on top with Rs 6.75 crore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like They Were So Beautiful Before; Now Look At Them; Number 10 Will Shock You Reportingly Undo 'Son of Sardaar 2' cast In 'Son of Sardaar 2', Ajay Devgn is joined by Mrunal Thakur , who plays Rabia. This marks her first film with Ajay, and fans are already enjoying their on-screen chemistry. The film boasts a large ensemble cast that adds layers of humour and drama to the story. Ravi Kishan plays Raja, Neeru Bajwa appears as Dimple, Deepak Dobriyal takes on the role of Gul, Kubbra Sait features as Mehwish, and Chunky Panday portrays Danish. The supporting cast includes Sharat Saxena, Mukul Dev, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia , Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sahil Mehta, and Dolly Ahluwalia , who plays Jassi's mother. 'Son of Sardaar 2' movie review 'Son of Sardaar 2' received 3 stars from The Times of India. The review describes the film as a slapstick comedy with a thin plot, but filled with hilarious moments, especially in the first half, 'The slapstick comedy written by Jagdeep Singh Sidhu and Mohit Jain is a standalone sequel to 2012's Son of Sardaar. The storyline maybe thin, but Jassi juggling the dual act of being a war hero and Rabia's husband doubles the chaos. India-Pakistan rivalry jokes and one-liners will keep you in splits, along with Tony and Titu trying to expose Jassi. The first half has some entertaining moments; one of them being Raja, Tony, and Titu visiting the family to finalise the wedding, where Jassi recreates the scene from Border and plays all three parts originally portrayed by Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff.' The review also points out that the second half becomes crowded with too many characters and comic tracks, 'However, as the story progresses, the plot becomes tangled and overstuffed with characters and comic tracks, though it does manages to deliver hilarity regularly. Some of the comedy misses the mark, like Jassi watching Raja's aged Russian stepmom pole dance. Routine song-and-dance sequences further drag on without advancing the plot. The climax is convoluted, predictable, and over‑dramatised.'

Siddhant Chaturvedi on 'Dhadak 2' Speaking about the movie and the vision behind it, Siddhant Chaturvedi told PTI, 'It is a huge responsibility... A lot of the credit goes to our director, who from day one was very sure of what she wanted and how she wanted to tell the story, how the characters should be, and she didn't want to over-dramatise anything or oversimplify anything. She just wanted things to be as they are in reality.' About 'Dhadak 2' The movie is a remake of the Tamil film 'Pariyerum Perumal'and a spiritual sequel to the 2018 Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Dhadak.
