EastEnders exit story confirmed for two characters in early BBC iPlayer release
Two EastEnders characters are set to leave Albert Square behind after being gifted an opportunity in recent scenes.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) made the difficult decision to sell the Queen Vic in recent weeks, and tonight the sale was finalised.
Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was determined to get her hands on the local boozer, and things were looking promising when Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) offered her the money from Martin Fowler's life insurance.
However, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) also had his sights set on the pub, not to mention local developers who were interested in demolishing the building.
By the time the auction began, Stacey had changed her mind about the money, having been told by Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) that Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) desperately needed to pay people off.
With Kat out of the running, the auction continued, though Mo and Jean Slater (Laila Morse and Gillian Wright) did everything they could to delay proceedings.
Meanwhile, having been talked round by Jean, Stacey paid Kat a visit and revealed that she was giving her the money after all.
As Kat and Stacey raced across the Square to the Vic, the auction attendees flooded out, after Jean set off the fire alarm in a bid to prevent a developer from buying the pub.
Having learnt that Kat was back on board, Linda decided to pull out of the auction altogether, instead accepting Kat's offer. More Trending
With the future of the Queen Vic secured, and Kat having agreed to a house swap, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) suggested that Linda and Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) take some time away from Walford.
It didn't take long to persuade them to accept the cruise, much to the disappointment of Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), who believed she was taking the holiday.

Coronation Street's Sam plays a trick on terrified Lily in revenge plot
Sam Blakeman was put in a terrifying situation (Picture: ITV) Young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was recently traumatised by a terrifying incident in Coronation Street. Murderer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) had escaped from prison, and turned up at Weatherfield High looking for his daughter Joanie (Savanna Pennington). As the menacing figure appeared in the school, some of the pupils recognised him and fled in fear for their lives. Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) rushed into a nearby classroom and locked the door. Sam was right behind her, but as he made for the safety of the classroom, Lily refused to let him in. Sam was left in the corridor at the mercy of Mick. Luckily Mick was focused on the hunt for Joanie and Sam wasn't hurt, but the fear he experienced has stayed with him and is seriously affecting him. Having heard about Lily's actions, Nick (Ben Price), Toyah (Georgia Taylor) and Leanne (Jane Danson) have been left concerned about what happened and worried that Sam's ordeal will have affected him, especially given that his mother died at the hands of an escaped prisoner – an event that left him deeply traumatised. Mick went in search of Joanie, so he made his way to the school (Picture: ITV) The ordeal has left Sam struggling (Picture: ITV) In upcoming episodes Sam is unable to cope when the family assemble at the bistro for Audrey (Sue Nicholls)'s birthday tea. He hides in the office, shaking with fear. There's worse to come when David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona (Julia Goulding) try to get Lily to apologise to Sam for her actions, but she tells him that she locked him out of the classroom on purpose. Sam can't believe she would be so callous and the pair argue furiously. Peace seems to have been restored later when the two cousins both attend Eco Club and Nick and Toyah are relieved that they're getting on again. But Sam has other ideas. Lily has made a poster and Sam isn't very impressed by it. After sneering at the poster, Sam tells Lily that there have been six burglaries in the area in recent days. He says that the burglars move the furniture around. Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? When Lily gets home she's spooked to find the door ajar. When she goes inside, she sees that the furniture has been moved around. Fearing that they've been burgled, she screams in panic. Has Sam just got his revenge on Lily? And if so, will that be the end of their feud? It's not the end of Sam's ordeal. As he opens up to Toyah about how the incident in the school affected him, he tells her he's been having panic attacks and is living with constant anxiety, it seems he's still feeling deeply troubled by everything that's happened. EastEnders fans 'in tears' as Linda Carter makes emotional exit after revealing huge secret
EastEnders aired an emotional exit for Linda Carter today as she said goodbye to the Vic, but not before dropping a huge bombshell - and fans predict trouble ahead... It was an emotional episode of EastEnders tonight as Linda Carter said goodbye to the Vic and to Albert Square - for a while. Despite knowing she'd be back - fans were still left in tears. The Carters and Knights have officially ended their reign as landlords of the beloved pub, with Kat Slater set to return as landlady. In tonight's episode, the family finished off packing up and Linda and her children headed off for a well deserved break on a cruise, while Elaine remains in Walford. It marks the end of an era and a fresh start for the family, as Elaine persuaded Linda to tell Oscar that Annie was his half sister. Linda was reluctant to tell Oscar, adamant she didn't want Max to know. However, a cheeky Oscar didn't look like he was willing to keep the secret as he responded: "And miss his face when he finds out?" However, later on in the episode, Linda was seen begging Lauren to ask Oscar not to tell Max - as Lauren reassured her that none of them have a relationship with their father. Lauren then had another chat with Oscar, and as Linda got ready to hop into a black cab, Lauren reassured her: "It's OK, he's not going to say anything, are you?" "No," Oscar responded. "No-one wants my dad back round here." Linda thanked Oscar and proceeded to say a teary goodbye to Tracey and her mum Elaine. Fans were left in tears, as one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Tracy & Linda's goodbye hug. I'm not crying you are," posted one fan, as another said: "Trying to cope with not seeing Linda for several weeks now that she's gone on her cruise. I'm going to miss her so bloody much." A third emotional fan penned: "It's official, Linda has left the Vic and has gone on holiday for weeks now. Her goodbye to Trace and Elaine saying she's proud of her. I'm so emotional." Others were convinced that there'd be trouble waiting for Linda upon her been revealed that Max Branning (Jake Wood) will be making a return later this year, and fans think he'll be back in the Square waiting for Linda upon her return. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter during the episode, one fan penned: "Why do I get the feeling that Max will be back on the Square by the time she comes back to Walford. Linda took a massive risk telling Oscar about Annie - I just hope Max's return doesn't trigger another relapse as Linda has done so well to stay sober." Another said: "We know Max is on his way back to Walford - but could this be what brings Max back to the Square. I hope Oscar doesn't say anything," as a third agreed: "Linda's definitely gonna return from her holiday to see that Max is back in Walford, can't wait."

EastEnders schedule shake-up sparks 'technical error' as fans spot Jack Branning blunder
EastEnders fans were left baffled during Tuesday's episode as they noticed a blunder due to the ongoing Summer schedule changes taking place due to sporting events EastEnders fans spotted a blunder on DI Jack Branning's (Scott Maslen) work computer during tonight's episode - and it's all down to the schedule changes. Tonight's episode of EastEnders picked up after last night's cliff hanger, in which Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) was arrested by Jack Branning over possession with intent to supply. Today, we saw Ravi being questioned in the police station as Priya's house was searched by the police. However, Ravi wasn't giving in to the officers as he offered "no comment" to all of their questions. Ravi's solicitor then asked for a further private consultation with his client, as the officer in the room was forced to leave the room and suspend the interview. As he left the room, he told his solicitor he needed him to get a message to someone for him - but it was the next part that left fans scratching their heads. The officer questioning Ravi joined Jack outside who was re watching the interview on his computer. "I reckon he's sweating," Jack said about Ravi. The date and time were pinned at the top of Jack's computer, with some eagle-eyed fans noticing the date said 23/7 instead of today's date, 22/7. "This is very particular but did anyone notice Jack's computer date said 23/7?" asked one fan on Reddit. "Defo done before schedule changes came into play." The soap has undergone a number of schedule changes over the summer as huge sporting events including Wimbledon and the UEFA Women's Euros broadcast on the BBC. This week, the soap is undergoing another huge schedule shake-up, as the soap will be taken off air tomorrow night (July 23). This is due to the Women's Euros second semi-final airing on the BBC from 7.30pm tomorrow night, which will see Germany take on Spain for a place in the all important final. To make up for the soap being off air on Wednesday, a double bill aired on Monday, meaning tonight's episode was originally meant to air on Wednesday, hence the date 'blunder'. EastEnders isn't the only soap undergoing schedule changes this week. Emmerdale has been taken off air tonight as the first Women's Euros semi-final, which will see England take on Italy in an attempt to secure their spot in the final. Fans can relax again from next week, as EastEnders will be airing in its usual 7.30pm slot from Monday to Thursday, and as always, will be available to stream on iPlayer from 6am that morning.
