Coronation Street's Sam plays a trick on terrified Lily in revenge plot
Young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was recently traumatised by a terrifying incident in Coronation Street. Murderer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) had escaped from prison, and turned up at Weatherfield High looking for his daughter Joanie (Savanna Pennington).
As the menacing figure appeared in the school, some of the pupils recognised him and fled in fear for their lives.
Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) rushed into a nearby classroom and locked the door. Sam was right behind her, but as he made for the safety of the classroom, Lily refused to let him in. Sam was left in the corridor at the mercy of Mick.
Luckily Mick was focused on the hunt for Joanie and Sam wasn't hurt, but the fear he experienced has stayed with him and is seriously affecting him.
Having heard about Lily's actions, Nick (Ben Price), Toyah (Georgia Taylor) and Leanne (Jane Danson) have been left concerned about what happened and worried that Sam's ordeal will have affected him, especially given that his mother died at the hands of an escaped prisoner – an event that left him deeply traumatised.

In upcoming episodes Sam is unable to cope when the family assemble at the bistro for Audrey (Sue Nicholls)'s birthday tea. He hides in the office, shaking with fear.
There's worse to come when David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona (Julia Goulding) try to get Lily to apologise to Sam for her actions, but she tells him that she locked him out of the classroom on purpose. Sam can't believe she would be so callous and the pair argue furiously.
Peace seems to have been restored later when the two cousins both attend Eco Club and Nick and Toyah are relieved that they're getting on again.
But Sam has other ideas. Lily has made a poster and Sam isn't very impressed by it. After sneering at the poster, Sam tells Lily that there have been six burglaries in the area in recent days. He says that the burglars move the furniture around.

When Lily gets home she's spooked to find the door ajar. When she goes inside, she sees that the furniture has been moved around. Fearing that they've been burgled, she screams in panic.
Has Sam just got his revenge on Lily? And if so, will that be the end of their feud?
It's not the end of Sam's ordeal.
As he opens up to Toyah about how the incident in the school affected him, he tells her he's been having panic attacks and is living with constant anxiety, it seems he's still feeling deeply troubled by everything that's happened.

Here We Go star Alison Steadman on heartbreaking reason she's quit theatre
Alison Steadman, star of BBC's Here We Go, has revealed she's quit theatre despite it once being her 'favourite thing' to do Actress Alison Steadman opened up about her decision to quit theatre during an appearance on ITV 's This Morning on Friday (25 July). The TV star sat down with Dermot O'Leary and Olivia Attwood to chat about her latest projects, including the third series of BBC 's Here We Go, but sadly revealed she won't be appearing on stage in the future. "This breaks my heart. You don't want to do theatre anymore," Dermot said to Alison, with co-host Olivia adding: "Stage fright?" Alison sadly revealed: "Yeah, really. I've put my shift in and it was my favourite thing. I absolutely loved it, but no more." Alison has starred in numerous theatre productions over the years, having kicked off her career in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie after finishing her studies. She has also appeared in Abigail's Party, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Entertaining Mr Sloane and Hotel Paradiso. Alison won an Olivier Award for The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Elsewhere during the interview, Alison teased what's to come in the new series of Here We Go, which launches on BBC One on Friday (25 July). "We're so excited," she said, before revealing what her character Sue Jessop has been up to. "Well, she's moved in with them, it's what she's always wanted! She's living with them, she's rearranged the kitchen, as mother-in-laws do. She just loves it, she just loves being with all the family." Alison went on to discuss the unique way in which Here We Go is filmed. The series is filmed in one on-going take, meaning there is no opportunity for cuttings or edits. "It's filmed always in one long take, so there's no cuttings. It's quite tough sometimes. It's just quite tiring, sometimes the scenes can be four, five pages long," Alison told Dermot and Olivia. She admitted: "If you're filming it without a break, and you're doing take after take, sometimes you think 'Please let me rest!'" Alison stars alongside Jim Howick, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Basden, Tori Allen-Martin, Freya Parks, Mica Ricketts, and Jude Morgan-Collie in the hit BBC sitcom. The series, set in the town of Bedford, tells the unique story of the dysfunctional and eccentric Jessop family, from the perspective of teenager Sam (Jude Morgan-Collie), who films plenty of footage on his handheld camera. Flashbacks to less chaotic times also feature, giving the series a unique selling point.

EastEnders addresses Ozzy Osbourne and England's Lionesses in special scene
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video EastEnders has paid tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne and celebrated England's Lionesses win against Italy in a specially recorded topical scene. The BBC soap is no stranger to last-minute additions that help to cement the fictional world of Walford into reality. Over the years we've seen everything from sporting results, the death of Michael Jackson, Royal weddings and Presidential elections dropped into conversation, all filmed on the day of broadcast. Last night's episode was no exception, with a brief chat between Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) discussing the previous night's footy results. Ironically, it was this match that took the show off air. He asked her how she was coping after handing over the The Queen Vic to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), to which she responded: 'Well, I can't be too down after that England match. I mean, 2-1?' With the two genres not really going hand in hand, you might not be aware that our women's team reached Sunday's Euro 2025 final with a dramatic comeback win against Italy during extra time. 'I'm going to tell you something, there's going to be a lot of kids named Michelle and Chloe in nine months time,' Elaine continued, referencing players Michelle Agyemang and Chloe Kelly who stepped up from the sub's bench and scored the winning goals. Callum then said it would be 'weird' watching the final without Elaine behind the bar. Elaine then joked that Kat would have to put a swear pot in front of her grandmother Mo Harris (Laila Morse) on Sunday, and that way she'll be able to retire. She then mentioned the ongoing love affair between Callum and her grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), who is away on a cruise with mum Linda (Kellie Bright). The atmosphere turned frosty and they both parted ways. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? However, some fans picked up on a little Easter egg in the background of the scene. Black Sabbath's Paranoid could clearly be heard belting out from the market, in a nod to the band's front man Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on Tuesday aged 76. More Trending The 'prince of darkness' died in the UK, just weeks after his final performance. 'Omg I loved that new scene put in between Callum and Elaine, nice touch with Ozzy playing in the background,' said one viewer on X. 'Loved the mention of the footie & hearing Ozzy singing in the background. Well done #eastenders,' said another. View More » A third added: 'Touch of class having Ozzy playing in the background!
