Michael Biopic Release Date With Jaafar Jackson Delayed Again

Michael, the Lionsgate and Universal biopic feature about Michael Jackson, has been delayed to next year. This is the second delay that the movie has suffered. It was originally slated to come out on April 18, 2025, but the release date got postponed until October 3, 2025. Michael Jackson biopic movie moved to April 2026 release date Lionsgate and Universal Pictures' Michael will now debut in theaters on Friday, April 24, 2025. As per Deadline, there are multiple factors that have caused the delay, one being the length of the movie. The first cut of Michael is reportedly longer than three and a half hours and allegedly featured references to Jordan Chandler. Notably, Jordan Chandler's father, Evan Chandler, accused Jackson of sexually abusing Jordan, who was 13 years old at the time, in 1993. These allegations led to criminal investigations against Jackson and a civil lawsuit, which was settled out of court. (via ABC News) John Logan, who penned the screenplay for Ridley Scott's Gladiator (2000), wrote the screenplay for Michael. It was approved by Jackson's estate. The movie subsequently went into production, and the narrative reportedly included Jordan at the time. However, people involved with the project apparently later discovered that an agreement was already in place not to include Jordan in the movie. As a result, the filmmakers had to rework the material. Antoine Fuqua is the director of Michael. He previously helmed the 2001 crime thriller Training Day. The cast includes Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson, Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Miles Teller as John Branca, and Laura Harrier as Suzanne de Passe. Jaafar is Michael Jackson's nephew (son of his older brother Jermaine). The logline for Michael reads, 'An in-depth portrayal of Michael Jackson, a complicated man, who became the King of Pop. The biopic will bring to life Jackson's most iconic performances as it gives an informed insight into the entertainer's artistic process and personal life.' Michael is reportedly the only major studio release that week in the U.S. so far. Originally reported by Tamal Kundu on ComingSoon. Here's The New ‘Five Nights At Freddy's 2' Trailer And Its Release Date

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Five Nights at Freddy's was an underestimated video game adaptation, where the traditional Hollywood class did not seem to understand its massive appeal among Gen Z. The first film performed so well a sequel was auto-greenlit, and now we have our first trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which you can see below: The trailer has already gotten a million views in its first three hours with a wild 166,000 to 750 like-to-dislike ratio. That's reflected in my entire gaming timeline being filled with fans combing through every second of the trailer and overwhelmingly getting hyped about the various bits and pieces they've found from the games, praising how they're apparently being adapted. It cannot be overstated just how big of a gaming/horror success the original Five Nights at Freddy's was. The film made $291 million worldwide on a $20 million budget, a 14x multiplier and an industry smash hit. And like many horror properties, the places the game has gone means that there are likely unlimited paths toward future sequels. If they can get these movies out every two years, which seems possible, that's printing money. Five Nights 1 was out in October 2023, while Five Nights at Freddy's 2's release date is December 5, 2025, just over two years later. Even if the second film performs worse than the first, the amount it will make compared to the low budget it may now have should still be wildly profitable. You can make less money and increase costs a bit and this would still be considered a huge hit. Compare this to one of the best horror movies of 2025, Companion, which made a whopping $36 million worldwide. Heart Eyes, also this year, made $33 million. Bring Her Back made $22 million. The only horror movie rocketing out of this class is Sinners with $365 million and I mean, that's not even that much more than the original Five Nights was. Movie or Minecraft, huge, huge earners. It's just not the same thing with that kind of budget and honestly, a more passionate fanbase than either of those who will turn out to ensure this movie makes money, even if it's a few hundred million less than those others. If you want to read the absurdly long, just-released synopsis for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, you can read that below: --- "They're not just at Freddy's anymore. In 2023, Blumhouse's box-office horror phenomenon Five Nights at Freddy's, based on the blockbuster game series by Scott Cawthon, became the highest-grossing horror film of the year. Now, a shocking new chapter of animatronic terror begins. One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town's first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike's 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy's, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades. The cast of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 includes returning co-stars Theodus Crane as Jeremiah and the legendary Matthew Lillard as William Afton. The film features new characters played by Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone, Pennyworth), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park, Seinfeld), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters franchise, Annabelle Comes Home) and horror icon Skeet Ulrich (Scream, Riverdale). Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Emma Tammi and is written by game series creator Scott Cawthon." Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram.
