USC not ranked among top 25 teams in EA Sports College Football 26

USA Today4 days ago
The start of the 2025 college football season continues to draw closer and closer. One sign that the season is just around the corner is the upcoming release of EA Sports College Football 26. After the popular college football video game franchise returned from a decade-long hiatus last year, the revamped version is back for round two this year, with release set for next week.
With release date drawing closer and closer, last week, EA released the top 25 teams in the game. Coming off of a 7-6 season, USC did not make the cut.
The Trojans do have one of the top 25 offenses in the game. USC has an 85 ranked offense, tied with seven other teams for 19th. In terms of the top 25 overall teams, however, the Trojans are on the outside looking in.
Based on this, it seems as though EA Sports believes that defense will hold USC back this season. It will be up to Lincoln Riley and D'Anton Lynn to prove them wrong on the field.

USC Trending Towards Landing Dynamic Talent With 53 Offers

USC Trending Towards Landing Dynamic Talent With 53 Offers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. USC is stretching its relentless offseason to Fourth of July weekend. The Trojans are now trending toward landing a new dynamic talent -- one armed with 53 total scholarship offers. Advertisement USC is the favorite to land wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster, with Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman of On3/Rivals picking the Trojans as the favorite. Landing Feaster becomes one more massive coup for head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans coaching staff. Feaster himself even teased a possible USC commitment back on June 8. Feaster remains one of the more touted uncommitted prospects heading into the summer. USC is starting to trend upward ahead of his verbal decision. However, there's other powerhouses still at play -- including one heavy favorite from his home state of Texas. Trojans HC Lincoln Riley© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images "Alabama, USC, LSU and Texas A&M are finalists for the four-star pass-catcher and this is shaping up to be the Aggies' to lose," Spiegelman wrote. Advertisement Still, USC isn't wavering per Spiegelman -- which lifts its chances of winning a verbal commitment from him. "LSU was trending at various points with Feaster, who has ties to The Boot, but it's Texas A&M and USC battling until the finish line," Spiegelman added. USC would grab the nation's No. 5 wide receiver if they hold off Texas A&M and the other SEC challengers. Wide receivers coach Chad Savage is running point of Feaster's commitment. Riley and the Trojans would add their fifth wide receiver option for the future. USC will need to eventual replace Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane -- as both are garnering NFL Draft attention this fall. USC Commit Details Lincoln Riley Party During Visit

USC Commit Details Lincoln Riley Party During Visit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. One USC 2026 commit took in the sights and sounds of an epic block party while visiting the Trojans. At the home of his future college football head coach Lincoln Riley, nonetheless. Advertisement Riley took official visits to a new level, as college head coaches everywhere are getting more creative during a new summer recruiting period. June allowed coaches like Riley everywhere to host recruits on official visits -- a first ever as officials are often held during the regular season. Running back commit Deshonne Redeaux of Oaks Christian High experienced Riley's block party, he shared with Gerard Martinez of 247Sports. How was Riley able to shut down his block? USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley. Jonathan Hui-Imagn Images "Man, that was a good time," Redeaux began with Martinez. "He shut the whole block down. It was a block party with food trucks and everybody came together. It was just a really good time." Advertisement Sounds like the L.A. native Redeaux and the other recruits who visited USC had a variety of food options. They also took in a massive oceanfront view. Riley bought a $17 million mansion in Palos Verdes Estates back in 2022, right after he got named the Trojans head coach. Redeaux likely got a chance to see the 13,000 square foot venue Riley lives in with his family. His house features a five-car garage, built in elevator, a built-in movie theater, a putting green for golf and a tennis court. Palos Verdes Estates is known as one of the more affluent neighborhoods of L.A. It's a coastal city that is located approximately 45 minutes south of the USC campus. Redeaux got the chance to take in Riley's neighborhood with the other recruits on hand. The four-star concludes he aims to bring back a championship legacy to the Land of Troy. USC Commit Names Off Two All-Pro Influences Who Helped Sway His Decision

USC Commit Names Off Two All-Pro Influences Who Helped Sway His Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. USC fired off some early fireworks before the sun set on the Fourth of July. The Trojans reeled in one of the top uncommitted prospects on Friday in Ethan "Boobie" Feaster. Advertisement Feaster was courted by 53 total universities before choosing USC. Turns out two NFL All-Pro influences helped sway his decision to choose the Trojans. The DeSoto, Texas wide receiver broke down his reasons for choosing USC with Mike Roach of 247Sports after his commitment. He revealed wide receivers coach Chad Savage and head coach Lincoln Riley were a big reason behind opting for USC. But he namedropped two star NFL wide receivers with a connection to both coaches as to why USC was the prime fit. USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley Krohn-Imagn Images "I know we're going to throw the ball, and Simmons did put in some greats in the league. He had dealt with (Michael) Crabtree, two-time Biletnikoff winner, the only one to ever do it," Feaster began, referencing the San Francisco 49ers star. Advertisement But he added one more talent who's from the Savage wideout tree. "He did put in CeeDee Lamb [in the NFL]," Feaster said. The speedy wideout added Dede Westbrook as one more talent from Savage. Concluding with "He's had great receivers for a very, very long time." Feaster wasn't just pursued by USC. He had three Southeastern Conference powers attempting to court him in Alabama, LSU and in-state option Texas A&M. The 6-foot-1 target becomes commitment No. 31 to the nation's top-ranked recruiting class. He's also USC's fifth verbal pledge at WR. Though he becomes the highest ranked WR commit for the Trojans.
