Vivo confirms the X Fold 5 is coming soon to India, possibly alongside the X200 FE in July

India Today2 days ago
Vivo is gearing to launch two big, high-end phones in India, possibly within the next few weeks if not months. One of them, the X200 FE, was confirmed a few days back. Today, Vivo has announced that even the Vivo X Fold 5 is coming soon to India. The exact timeline hasn't been revealed but speculation is rife that both, the X Fold 5 and X200 FE, will be launched together in the second week of July.advertisementThe X Fold 5, as you can probably tell from the naming, is a book-style foldable potentially rivaling the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. It was recently launched in China with two major headline grabbing updates – best-in-class IP rating (IPX8/IPX9 Plus/IP5X) and a massive 6,000mAh battery. For a foldable that packs these quality-of-life upgrades, it is impressive how astonishingly thin and light the Vivo X Fold 5 is, measuring only about 9.2mm when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded while weighing just 217 grams.Spec-wise, the X Fold 5 has a 6.53-inch cover display and an 8.03-inch inner display protected by the second-generation Armour Glass, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage, 50-megapixel ZEISS tuned triple rear cameras, and 80W wired and 40W wireless charging support. In China, the Vivo X Fold 5 has a starting price of CNY 6,999 which roughly translates to Rs 83,670 for a version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Vivo has also separately teased the India launch of the X200 FE, a compact flagship phone on the lines of the OnePlus 13s. It has a 6.31-inch screen inside a chassis that's barely 7.9mm. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus processor and a 6,500mAh battery with 90W wired charging. The phone has a trio of sensors, two 50-megapixel behind wide and telephoto lenses and a third 8-megapixel ultrawide, with ZEISS tuning. The X200 FE was recently launched in global markets after launching first in China. We will cover both devices as and when they formally arrive in India. With Vivo kicking off the hype-train, it won't be long before more details start to trickle down. Watch this space for more details.- Ends
