Former Bengals WR: 'George Pickens was always late, Steelers had enough of it'
Long-time Steelers rival and former Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh recently addressed on his podcast Up on Game, alongside co-hosts LaVar Arrington and Plaxico Burress — and it's safe to say he isn't a fan of the former disgruntled Steeler.

Pickens' antics — specifically his consistent tardiness — are what Houshmandzadeh believes pushed Steelers HC Mike Tomlin past his breaking point:
"Mike Tomlin is a coach that his players that kind of told the line and may step over it. He gives them a little leeway, he lets them be them, and then after a while, he's like, 'I can't deal with it anymore.' George Pickens had stepped over and crossed the line a bit too many times. And I know people that play with the Steelers. He'd be late for the team plane that would be flying out to away games. Multiple times, he'd be late to get on the team bus. And they just — they had enough of it."
Houshmandzadeh hit the nail right on the head. The former Bengals WR knows a thing or two about what disrespecting the Steelers looks like — after all, he may be best known in the Steel City for his less-than ideal treatment of the Terrible Towel.

The drill continued despite the strong defensive statement, resulting in three straight offensive scores: one from Johnson and two from QB Will Howard to RB Kenneth Gainwell and TE Kevin Folesch. The damage was already done, however, as the defense was up 4-3 at the conclusion of seven-shots. Fans should take the offensive struggles over the past few practices with a grain of salt — as many of these issues will (hopefully) be ironed out by the regular season, while the defense should be commended for its strong performances in Latrobe. Steelers swap defensive tackles Kyler Baugh and Jacob Slade
On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced a pair of roster moves ahead of their Friday Night Lights training camp practice. The team announced they had signed defensive tackle Kyler Baugh and to make room on the roster, waived defensive tackle Jacob Slade. This is in addition to the upcoming signing of veteran defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko. Fehoko announced on his social media that he is returning to the Steelers. Baugh played his college football at the University of Minnesota. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Baugh also spent time on the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons practice squads. Most recently, Baugh was on the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL. Friday at training camp is the Steelers annual Friday Night Lights. This is when the Steelers pack Latrobe Memorial Stadium. The team puts on a full practice under the lights and it is a fan-favorite.
