‘I want my revenge' – Tyson Fury ready for comeback and targets Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Fury retired from the sport following December's rematch defeat to Ukrainian Usyk, but Saudi Arabian boxing chief Turki Alalshikh revealed on Wednesday that the 36-year-old had told him of his intention to fight next year.
Fury – who has recently posted footage of himself back in the gym with trainer SugarHill Steward – then followed up that announcement himself, speaking to Boxing News at an IBA Pro Event in Istanbul.

'Who would I rather fight right now? Usyk. I want my revenge in England, that's all I want,' Fury said.
'I want my fair shout, and I don't believe I got a fair shout the last two times. I don't know what I'm going to have to do, because I can't let it go to a decision.
'That's the one I want, but if I don't get that then it will be Joshua, the biggest British fight that will ever happen.
'It would break all records and it would sell out 100,000 at Wembley in an hour and it's a fight I think can happen, if I decide to come back and the deal was right.'
Usyk will become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion should he defeat Daniel Dubois, the IBF heavyweight world champion, at Wembley later this month.
Fury appeared to dismiss the prospect of taking on Dubois.
'If I did come back, hypothetically speaking, if I was to return and box Daniel Dubois, he wouldn't land a glove on me, it would be a one-sided beatdown,' he said.
'But I wish him luck in his fight against Usyk, but styles make fights and his style and my style don't gel. I would annihilate him.'
Alalshikh signalled a potential Fury return with a social media post on Tuesday which referenced the 'rabbit' nickname given by Fury to Usyk in the build-up to their previous fights.
'The 'Gypsy King' will be back,' Alalshikh wrote. 'I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026 … We have a rabbit to hunt.'

Skelton and Valetini missing as Schmidt shows Wallabies' hand

THE WALLABIES WILL be without heavyweight forwards Will Skelton and Rob Valetini for Sunday's clash with Fiji, their only game before taking on the British and Irish Lions in the three-Test series. La Rochelle lock Skelton and Brumbies back row Valetini are carrying injuries that have made them doubts for the opening meeting with the Lions on 19 July, while scrum-half Jake Gordon also misses out this weekend. Wallabies boss Joe Schmidt hasn't sprung any big selection surprises with his team for this weekend's meeting with Fiji in Newcastle, a couple of hours north of Sydney. Number eight Harry Wilson continues in the captaincy role he took on last year, while Noah Lolesio retains the number 10 shirt. Flanker Langi Gleeson – who will join Montpellier in France later this year – starts against Fiji in Valetini's absence. There had been speculation in Australia that Gleeson and others could be overlooked by Schmidt due to their future moves abroad, but he is rewarded for his superb season for the Waratahs. Advertisement 32-year-old Waratahs hooker Dave Porecki, who previously played for London Irish, comes into the starting XV from the cold, having last played for the Wallabies at the 2023 World Cup. Reds scrum-half Tate McDermott takes the number nine shirt as regular starter Gordon misses out through injury. Schmidt hopes to have Gordon back in time for the first Lions Test. Superstar rugby league convert Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii will continue in the Wallabies' number 13 jersey, despite playing most of his rugby at fullback for the Waratahs in Super Rugby this year. His Waratahs team-mate, 20-year-old wing Max Jorgensen, makes his return from an ankle injury for this clash with the Fijians, while Western Force flyer Harry Potter is on the other wing as Tom Wright continues at fullback. Schmidt has opted to use Ulster-bound loosehead Angus Bell off the bench as the experienced James Slipper starts in the front row. Also included among the replacements are Western Force halfbacks Nic White and Ben Donaldson, who played against the Lions last week. Reds wing/centre and Fiji native Filipo Daugunu, who wasn't with the Wallabies in Europe last autumn, comes into the number 23 shirt. Wallabies (v Fiji): 15. Tom Wright 14. Harry Potter 13. Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii 12. Len Ikitau 11. Max Jorgensen 10. Noah Lolesio 9. Tate McDermott 1. James Slipper 2. David Porecki 3. Allan Alaalatoa 4. Nick Frost 5. Jeremy Williams 6. Langi Gleeson 7. Fraser McReight 8. Harry Wilson (captain) Replacements: 16. Billy Pollard 17. Angus Bell 18. Zane Nonggorr 19. Tom Hooper 20. Carlo Tizzano 21. Nic White 22. Ben Donaldson 23. Filipo Daugunu

Emma Raducanu turns up to watch men's world number one in Wimbledon practise amid Carlos Alcaraz romance rumours

EMMA RADUCANU got ready for her clash with the women's world No 1 — by watching the men's world No 1. And the British underdog — who is 3-1 to shock Court today — has vowed to behave aggressively as she fights to stay in Wimbledon. And before facing the Belarusian three-time Grand Slam champion, she watched the world's top man, Jannik Sinner, practise ahead of his straight-sets victory over Aleksandar Vukic. British No 1 Raducanu said: 'I'm trying to learn by osmosis. Jannik is so effortless when he hits the ball. 'I have been trying to watch a bit more live when I am away. I watched Joao Fonseca the other day. Advertisement READ MORE IN WIMBLEDON 'I have just been practising for just an hour and ten minutes. 'I was working on a few things I will need. 'I feel good. But if she can approach it in the same manner as her victory over Czech star Vondrousova, then maybe she could shake up the entire women's draw. Raducanu added: 'Aryna is No 1 in the world for a reason. Advertisement 'She has been so dominant in the women's game as of the last few years. 'I know it's going to be a massive challenge. I'm going to have to play some really good tennis. 'I'm going to have to be aggressive but pick my moments and not kind of be overly aggressive. You can fall into that trap, too. 'I don't think I'm going to go out there and out-power her size-wise and power-wise. Advertisement 'I'm going to have to try to be creative as well. I'm more confident in my own game. 'Having the direction over the last few months built over consistency has really helped.'

Osborne 'leading by actions' in elevated Ireland role

Jamie Osborne has shone with both Leinster and Ireland when opportunities have been afforded to him over the last number of years. A 2024 Test debut in the Summer tour to South Africa was one he had to wait for, having been involved in Irish squads for several years previously without getting his chance. His inclusion at full-back was a big call for Andy Farrell to make. Heading into the fortress that is Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, a then 22-year-old Osborne - who had not played full-back since November '22 in the blue of Leinster - scored a try after 34 minutes. Farrell was clear in his admiration for Osborne, who was deputising for Hugo Keenan during the first-choice 15's Olympic Sevens stint, keeping him in his starting 15 despite a narrow 27-20 first Test loss to Rassie Erasmus' Springboks. The now seven-cap international would start and finish the 25-24 win in the second Test over the Boks' and has gone on to solidify his place as a contender for matchday squads and beyond in the time since. With a number of Irish retirements, and a multitude away with the British and Lions, the 23-year-old has naturally taken on an elevated role in interim head coach Paul O'Connell's Ireland squad for their tour of Georgia and Portugal. Others, like tour captain Craig Casey have done likewise. 'There's a lot of excitement in the group, a lot of uncapped players, so we all just want to get together quickly and put in the best performance we can and just show how much it means to us to play for Ireland," Osborne said. "When you're in the squad with people with a lot more experience, you're probably looking to learn off them a lot. "You're looking up to them, you're asking more questions. Whereas, maybe in this environment, I've been here a couple of years now, so it's probably about passing on a bit more knowledge than I would. "But at the end of the day, I'd still have questions to ask other lads and I hope they'd feel comfortable to ask me questions. So it's a bit of a mix." "I've tried to lead in training on the pitch with my actions mainly and hopefully others can look up to that." The versatile back will wear 13 on his back, rather than 15, when Ireland take on Georgia in Tbilisi on Saturday (kick-off, 6pm Irish time). 'Defensively, as a 13, you're probably a bit of a defensive leader in the team. You look at Garry (Ringrose), what he does for whatever team he's involved with these days, he's really combative, and he leads the line," he said. 'It's probably different from, say, being a full-back. You're close to the ball as well. There's that little bit around where you're scanning, you're talking to the 10 and stuff like that. So there are differences, but I'm enjoying each position." Much has been said about his versatility. It's certainly a plus for a coaching setup. Whether it's a help or a hindrance for the player is another question. Osborne only sees it one way. Read More Andy Farrell ups the Lions ante with call for prodigal son Owen I think it's definitely a strength, sometimes it can seem a bit like a bit of a weakness at times if you're not selected and you're thinking 'maybe I should be a bit more specialised in a certain position'... over time we'll see and, you know, hopefully I can figure it out how to best utilise it." IRELAND: J O'Brien, T O'Brien, J Osborne, S McCloskey, J Stockdale, S Prendergast, C Casey (captain); J Boyle, G McCarthy, T Clarkson, C Izuchukwu, D Murray, R Baird, N Timoney, G Coombes. Replacements: T Stewart, M Milne, J Aungier, T Ahern, C Prendergast, B Murphy, J Crowley, C Nash.
