Xander, however, does not fall for the trick and heads out of the restaurant in a fit of rage. He then, in trademark Xander manner, confronts Philip once again. Philip is upset that Xander got intimate with Gwen despite being (technically) married to Sarah
Meanwhile, Johnny (Carson Boatman) remains adamant that he did not shoot his father, EJ. Chanel (Raven Bowens) remains one of his few supporters. She keeps insisting that she believes him. In fact, she tells him this so many times that one wonders if she is actually trying to second-guess herself.
Tony's return spells trouble for EJ
EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), like Chanel, too, remains adamant that Johnny did not shoot him and even defends him in court. EJ, however, has other problems on his plate. Tony (Thaao Penghlis) is back in Salem, and he is extremely disappointed with how EJ is running their father's company. This might spell trouble for EJ unless he gets his act together.

Did Chanel shoot EJ? New evidence raises doubt
Elsewhere on Days of Our Lives, Jada (Elia Cantu) and Belle (Martha Madison) are forced to continue their investigation as EJ maintains that Johnny did not shoot him.
