Days of Our Lives Recap: Felicity Finds Holly's Ring

Days of Our Lives Recap: Felicity Finds Holly's Ring originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Hernandez House: Rafe spoke with Shawn Douglas who is putting an APB out on Holly and Arianna Grace. Gabi asks if Holly's family knows and he notes Nicole is in Paris and Maggie is in Bermuda. He thinks they should wait to call them until they have an update. Rafe tries to calm Gabi and she speaks positively saying they will find Arianna Grace and she isn't hurt. Rafe is impressed and the two embrace. Shawn Douglas calls and says Arianna and Holly were abducted at gunpoint by a masked man. He wonders if either girl were in any kind of trouble. They hang up and Rafe heads out to check on leads. Titan/DiMera: Xander is talking to Victoria about how they are going to get to know each other again. Gabi arrives late for their meeting and Xander says they will have to reschedule because he's spending the day with his daughter. Gabi falters before telling Xander that Arianna Grace is missing. Xander asks if he can get her anything and Gabi thanks him for his kindness. They talk about Arianna Grace and how she disappeared. Xander wonders why she came to the office. Gabi says Rafe told her to keep busy but she knows he just wanted the hysterical mommy out of the way so the police can do their job. Xander says that would be acceptable if the Salem PD were worth a damn. Gabi says it's taking everything in her not to charge into the police station, but she trusts her brother. Alley: Cat and Felicity run into Chad. She's dropping her sister off at gymnastics camp. Chad says Charlotte is there as well and Felicity says she'll look out for her. With that, she exits. He asks if Cat wants to grab coffee and they head off together. Horton Square: Tate tries to call Sophia but gets her voicemail. He leaves a message about the couple she's supposed to be meeting. Cat and Chad chat about how busy they've been to do anything but deal with life. She talks about teaching Felicity to drive and how anxious it makes her. Chad gets a call from Leo about his jury duty. He wants a way out of his civic duty, but Chad says no. Just then, Cat gets a call from 'James Smith' and walks away. Rafe tells Cat he sent her a picture and needs her to pull ISA resources to pinpoint the location. Cat returns and says she has to leave to run an errand. She asks Chad if he will pick up Felicity and drop her at Sweet Bits for her shift. She thanks Chad and quickly makes her exit. Chicago: Sophia sees the voicemail from Tate but doesn't listen. Melinda returns and Sophia tells her about Tate's call. She looks sick and tells Melinda she doesn't think she can go through with their plan. Melinda says she will support Sophia in whatever decision she makes. Sophia appreciates the support but has no clue what she wants to do. She begins to cry when she recounts having seen her baby with Javi and Leo. Part of her wanted to take back her baby boy. Melinda reminds Sophia about leaving Haley in China and how it consumed her every thought. Eventually, she was able to manage the anxiety and grief. She convinced herself her daughter was better off without her. Sophia wonders how long these feelings will continue. Melinda doesn't remember but says she is strong and resilient and knows Sophia is the same. Sophia isn't so sure but knows she made the right decision. She just had no clue it would be so hard to see her baby and have to walk away again. Melinda talks about all Sophia has been through and how much courage it took to leave the baby at the fire station. She says Sophia is not alone as she will be there to support her in any way she can. Sophia thanks Melinda and doesn't know what she would do without her. Melinda wants to be the person for Sophia she wished she had so many years ago. With that, they dig into their food and decide to watch a silly movie. Brady Pub: Tate gives young Douglas the money to pay off the loan shark. Doug says he will make it right with him, but Tate only wants him to get the hell out of town. Doug says the goons will be there soon, but Tate wants to hang out to make sure he doesn't screw things up (I really hate how self-righteous Tate is talking to Doug). The loan shark arrives and young Douglas heads outside to hand off the money. He says he will hand it over when Arianna Grace and Holly are free. The goon says he won't let them go until he gets the money. Just then, Rafe walks up and the goon runs away. Tate runs out and tells Rafe to stop the goon as he has Arianna Grace and Holly. Salem PD: Young Douglas and Tate are hanging tight when Rafe walks out. He says Shawn Douglas is questioning the goon to try and find out where he's holding Arianna Grace and Holly. Rafe lights into Doug saying he should have been honest from the beginning and the girls would be safe. Young Douglas shows Rafe the picture on his phone sent by the loan shark. Rafe takes the phone as he has an idea of how to pinpoint the location. Salem PD – Interrogation Room: Shawn Douglas questions the goon and says they have him dead to rights for kidnapping the girls. Salem PD: Shawn Douglas emerges and says the goon has clammed up. Rafe wants to go in but Shawn D stops him saying they have to do everything by the book. Tate is furious but Rafe turns on him and says he should have tipped him off about the payoff. Tate, like young Douglas, says they were told no cops and didn't want the girls to get hurt. Rafe calms down and tells Tate and Doug to go home. Tate makes his exit, but Shawn D says Doug needs to come with him. Days of Our Lives Recap: Belle and EJ Become Adversaries Endings Xander wants Gabi to go home, and he says he will put together a reward for folks to come forward about the girls' whereabouts. Gabi thanks Xander for his kindness. She breaks down into tears and Xander pulls her into an embrace (CHEMISTRY!). Shawn Douglas says he's not arresting young Douglas. He simply wants him to give his statement. Just then, Rafe gets a call from Cat with a location on the girls. Melinda tells Sophia it's time to call Tate back and tell him the cover story. She reluctantly picks up her phone and gets his voicemail and tells him she's in Chicago and in labor. Chad, Charlotte and Felicity are back in the square. Felicity needs to get to work and heads over to Sweet Bits. Tate runs into the square and Felicity says she needs to talk to him. She hands him Holly's class ring and says she found it outside her gymnastics class. Keep checking back for the latest Days of Our Lives recaps! Schauffele starting with blank canvas for Open defence

Xander Schauffele is super-excited at the prospect of trying to defend his British Open title at Royal Portrush this week but says he will have to come up with a different plan to the one that took him to victory 12 months ago. 'I think a blank canvas is a great place to start. You can paint many different pictures to win a tournament. You've just got to do the right one,' the American told reporters on the County Antrim coast on Tuesday after practice. The 31-year-old produced a blemish-free final round of 65 at Royal Troon last year to win his second major title to go along with his gold medal from the Tokyo Olympics. He was the third American in four years to win golf's oldest major but while that experience will hold him in good stead for the days ahead, he said Portrush's Dunluce Links will throw up a completely new test of his renowned links golf skills. Xander's back. — The Open (@TheOpen) July 14, 2025 'It's an interesting thing just because my thoughts of playing really well were at Royal Troon,' he said. 'Coming here, I feel like I'm trying to relearn this golf course, get comfortable with certain sight lines, some blind tee shots. If I can get myself in the mix, that's when I think I would have an advantage. That's where my biggest edge would be. 'I can lean on experience at other points in time, but I think the most fun and the biggest advantage I would have is coming down the stretch if I can get close to that lead.' With the perils of a links course's sloping greens, cavernous bunkers, knee-deep rough and the wild weather associated with Britain's coast, it is hardly surprising that defending the title is treacherous. The first step toward the Claret Jug. The 1st hole at Royal Portrush. Get the full view of the challenge ahead at The 153rd Open in our 18-hole course flyover, available now on our YouTube channel: @NBCSports | @GolfChannel — The Open (@TheOpen) July 10, 2025 The last player to do so was Ireland's Padraig Harrington in 2008 and Schauffele knows the luck of the draw and getting lucky with the weather could be vital this week. 'This week is a pretty good example of having to deal with a wave. There's typically a good wave and a bad wave in an Open Championship,' he said. 'You just keep your fingers crossed that you're in the good wave and try to play well. 'If you're not, fight for your life and make the cut and then try to do something on the weekend.' For a player who grew up in San Diego, it might be surprising how he has embraced the challenge of links golf. But he said 16-hour trips in the car with his dad as a youngster helped him learn to be creative. 'We drove up to Bandon Dunes from San Diego. It took about 16 hours. I was 13 years old,' he said. 'We played three or four days in a row. I think it was just Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes at the time. We got the real weather. My rain gear stopped working. It was that much wind and rain. 'I had a blast. As much as it was nice to look forward to a hot shower at the end of the day, I had so much fun for some reason trying to figure out how to play golf in that weather.' With wind and rain expected to batter Portrush at times over the next five days, he will draw on those experiences again.

‘Was it illegal? Yes' – Open star's half-blind coach dad let him drink and try drugs as kid and now lives in the jungle

Fast forward 16 years and the pair drank booze out of the Claret Jug after his Open glory. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 5 Xander Schauffele won The Open last year at Royal Troon Credit: Reuters 5 He was congratulated after the 18th hole by his father Stefan Credit: Getty Schauffele, 31, won The Open at Royal Troon 12 months ago - nine weeks after his maiden Major win at the PGA Championship - and arrives at Portrush as the defending champion. And as well as necking red wine and 'clear liquors' from golf's famous trophy a year ago, he admitted in his champion's press conference: 'I hate to say it, but I've had wine, of course, and then I've had tequila out of it, as well.' Schauffele, though, has been consuming alcohol with his old man Stefan since his early teens. His old man would even give French cognac and Cuban cigars to Xander and his childhood friends when they visited their San Diego home in the mid-noughties. Speaking to The Times, Stefan, 61, said: 'In America, the drinking age is 21 but you're allowed to be killed for your country at 18. This is bulls***. 'I told my boys [Xander and his older brother Nico]: I will teach you everything I know and cram in as many life experiences as I can until you're 16, then you're an adult in my mind. 'That included sexual experiences, even drugs. Someone was selling marijuana and cocaine at the middle school when Xander was 14, so you need to confront this. 'I said, 'I don't mind if you try, you just need to be aware it can f*** you up.' 'There were a lot of green faces with the cigars, some accidents with the alcohol, but they all learnt very quickly. 'Was it illegal? Yes. Can they put me in jail for it now? I don't think so.' Xander Schauffele jokes he was 'trending towards an alcoholic,' but he's happy to be back in Scotland Reflecting back on that upbringing, American Schauffele Jr added: 'He wanted to show me what's on the other side if you are successful. 'But maybe he just wanted a buddy to drink and smoke with.' Around the same age, Stefan challenged Xander to a full-on wrestling fight in the bathroom which ended up with a broken towel rail and the youngster in the bath. Xander added: 'Let's just say I didn't win the fight.' Stefan's parenting techniques have certainly raised question marks. But his determination for his son to succeed as a sporting professional is undeniable. And it is personal for Stefan, too. His own grandfather, Xander's great-grandfather, Richard was a 6ft 8ins 'monster' who played as a striker for Stuttgart before turning to athletics. He qualified for the Olympics discus event and was tipped for gold but injured his shoulder and would never reach the same heights again. HORROR CRASH Stuttgart-born Stefan inherited the sporting genes, initially in the long jump and javelin throw before joining the German national decathlon team. However, like his grandad, his career was cruelly ripped away from him when his car was hit head-on by a drink-driver in 1986. After six eye surgeries and two years in and out of hospital, he used the compensation payment to buy a one-way ticket to California, where he met Ping-Yi Chen, Xander's mother. The couple's first child tragically died of sudden infant death syndrome and they spent two years living in Tokyo, where Stefan discovered golf, a sport he found 'boring' but one he could play with his limited eyesight. So when Xander showed an interest in wanting to make a life out of the sport, Stefan was fully on board, regularly handing in sick notes at Xander's school to take him to the driving range. Now Schauffele has had three crowning moments in his illustrious career - and each one has a significant link to dad Stefan. The first was winning Olympic gold at the delayed Tokyo 2020 games four years ago. Xander gave Stefan - still coaching and representing him at the time - his precious medal. Xander said: 'That was a seriously emotional moment.' Stefan added: 'You're going to make me cry just thinking about it. 'He understood how huge the Olympics was for me. We got in the car and he gave me the medal and said, 'This is for you.'' I got some heckles for it but it's all good fun... it's a trophy that car Xander Schauffele Then came the PGA Championship win at Valhalla in May 2024 as Schauffele ditched his nearly-man tag by pipping Bryson DeChambeau by one shot. However, Stefan was not there to see his son become a Major champion. That is because he lives in a 20ft shipping container in the remote Hawaiian island of Kauai where he clears areas of jungle with a chainsaw. The mobile home - Stefan had been a 'complete hermit' before being forced to buy the semi-permanent pad - has no electricity or hot water. But he managed to find some electricity to watch the final seven holes of Xander's fourth round at the PGA. Then two months later, Stefan watched his son crowned Champion Golfer of the Year with his victory at Royal Troon. But despite career earnings about to reach £45million - he is 15th in the all-time PGA list - Xander has not lost touch with his humble roots, by still driving his 2015 Toyota Camry, a nod to his rental motor he would drive to qualifying rounds of tournaments ranked way down at No1,734 in the world. Schauffele - who turned down an offer worth a reported £150m from LIV Golf in 2022 - revealed: 'I drove it to Torrey Pines this year. 'I got some heckles for it but it's all good fun. 'It's a trophy that car. Those moments of despair are very important.' Come Sunday, Xander and Stefan will be hoping to keep hold of the other trophy for another year, too. 5 Stefan certainly had some unusual parenting choices Credit: Getty 5 Xander gave his father his Olympic medal and the Claret Jug for a year Credit: Getty

Xander Schauffele's dad boycotting Ryder Cup as he reveals fan's disturbing treatment of Shane Lowry's wife

The Ryder Cup has become too much for Xander Schauffele's father. The outspoken Stefan Schauffele complained about how outrageous the Ryder Cup has become in recent years and said he has no plans to attend in September at Bethpage in an in-depth feature in The Times of London. 'Do I miss the PGA Tour? No. I'm not going to the Ryder Cup either,' the German-born Stefan, who has been Xander's coach for much of his career, told the paper. I was there [at Whistling Straits] when they called Shane Lowry's wife a w—e in front of him. I couldn't believe my ears. 'Then I saw what happened in Rome. That was utterly disgusting claiming this money bulls–t and Rory [McIlroy] behaved disgustingly in my opinion [when he confronted Patrick Cantlay's caddie, Joe LaCava]. It's only going to get worse. It's ruined my appetite for the Ryder Cup. It becomes unwatchable.' Advertisement The McIlroy incident is well-known. 4 Shane Lowry (right) with wife Wendy at Wimbledon in 2024. WireImage The Northern Irishman had a heated moment with LaCava after Cantlay holed a putt on the 18th hole at the 2023 Ryder Cup at Rome. LaCava waved his hat at the crowd to celebrate after rumors swirled that Cantlay was playing hat-less in protest of players not getting paid for the Ryder Cup. Getty Images After words were exchanged on the green, McIlroy then confronted Justin Thomas' caddie, Jim 'Bones' Mackay, in the parking lot — stealing headlines from a dominant European performance over the Americans. That type of raucous behavior is usually seen in the galleries as the Ryder Cup has become known for its exuberant fan behavior. Advertisement For Stefan, that clearly extended to the American fans, given the comment he recalled about Lowry's wife, Wendy, from 2021 — the last time the event was on U.S. soil. 4 Wendy Lowry at the 2023 Ryder Cup. Getty Images In Hazeltine in 2016, McIlroy was reportedly told to 'suck a d–k' and repeatedly serenaded with 'Sweet Caroline' by fans after he had recently split with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki. After the Americans were dominated in Rome, fan fervor is expected to be at a high at Bethpage — which has been known for loud fan behavior even without the passion of the Ryder Cup. Xander, who won the PGA Championship and British Open last year, is only behind Scottie Scheffler in the Ryder Cup standings and is all but assured a spot on the team. He just won't have his father there to cheer him on.
