Candace Parker opens up on why WNBA coaching might not be in the cards
Throughout her career, Candace Parker has done it all. She is one of the most decorated players in the history of women's basketball.

In college, she won two national championships with the Tennessee Volunteers. Candace Parker is also a three-time WNBA champion, two-time WNBA MVP, and two-time Olympic gold medalist.
Not to mention that she is a popular basketball analyst and will have her jersey retired by two teams. With all that combined with her knowledge of the game, is she destined to be a coach?
She said it was not likely, according to former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson, on his podcast, All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson. Parker said it was her daughter who told her so.
'My daughter told me early, mom you do not have the patient to coach and I'm gonna listen because I just don't understand how look at them as they like can't dribble the ball up the court and you're not like, how can you not just do a simple dribble hand off,' she said. 'And you're patient about it.'

Candace Parker becoming the next Cheryl Miller?
Parker hinted at coaching and wanting to follow in the footsteps of fellow legend Cheryl Miller. However, she said she wouldn't have had the patience Miller had.
Miller, who was also on the podcast, joked that she could have learned the most from great players to become a great coach.
'I was convinced that I was going to break the mold, Miller said. 'You know how they say great players supposedly don't make great coaches? There might be some truth in that.'
Much like Parker, Miller is a basketball savant. She did it all as a player, coach, and broadcaster, essentially paving the way for Parker. From 1993 to 1995, Miller was the coach at her alma mater, USC.

In 1997, Miller was the first head coach for the Phoenix Mercury. She led them to the 1998 WNBA Finals, but they lost to the Houston Comets.

DENVER (AP) — Brenton Doyle hit a walkoff, two-run homer in a five-run ninth inning and the Colorado Rockies overcame a nine-run first-inning deficit to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 17-16 on Friday night. The Rockies are the sixth team in major league history to win after surrendering nine first-inning runs according to Elias Sports Bureau. Cleveland was the last to do it in 2006. Langeliers hits 2-run HR as A's score 4 in 1st inning, beat Diamondbacks 5-1
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Shea Langeliers hit a two-run homer in a four-run first inning and the Athletics beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 on Friday night. Brent Rooker had a sacrifice fly, Langeliers followed with his 19th home run and Carlos Cortez added a two-out RBI single as the A's built a 4-0 lead against Anthony DeSclafani. Rooker singled and scored on Tyler Soderstrom's second double of the game to make it 5-0 in the fourth. Jacob Lopez (4-6) gave up five hits in five scoreless innings for the Athletics, who have won three straight and seven of their last eight. Benintendi, Sosa each hit a HR as White Sox beat Angels 6-3
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Andrew Benintendi had a double and a home run, Lenyn Sosa also homered among his two hits, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-3 on Friday night. White Sox starter Shane Smith gave up two runs and two hits while striking out four over 4 1/3 innings in his first start since July 11 following a stint on the 15-day IL. Jordan Leasure (4-6) earned the win in relief, striking out four in 1 2/3 innings.
