Abbie Chatfield tearfully announces break from social media after a 'horrible year' of trolling: 'I need time off, desperately'
The influencer, 29, shared an expansive and emotional video to TikTok in which she outlined the reasoning behind her decision.
She said that 'endless trolling' from 'right-wing freaks' had finally reached breaking point and that she needs time away from social media to 'protect her brain.'
Over the next four weeks, Abbie's social media feeds will only feature pre-recorded clips for her It's A Lot Podcast.
'For the next month, I'm not going to be posting on social media at all except for pre-scheduled content for the podcast,' she revealed.
'I really need time off from the internet - like desperately.'

Giving followers an insight into the level of trolling, Abbie said that the amount of abuse she receives online was 'endless'.
'It's been really horrific this past six months with the amount of violent trolling that I have received,' she said.
'It's hundreds of messages a day. It's really traumatising and I don't like saying that because I know that trolls want to hurt me.
'Ever since the end of last year the trolling has become increasingly violent and aggressive from people that don't like me. It's constant...all day, every day.'
Abbie continued: 'Just imagine if every single day you received a hundred texts saying that people were going to SA [sexually assault] you, people want to be violent towards you, people hate you.
'I cant even enjoy TikTok because my for you page is videos about me - people making fun of me.'
She also claimed that the vitriol had gotten so bad over the past year that she has even experienced suicidal ideation.
'I haven't really gone a day in the past eight months without having thoughts of un-aliving myself so, I really need a break because, when I get to have a day off without my phone, I'm able to get back to being normal,' Abbie tearfully admitted.
'I'm sick of being lied about, I'm sick of being attacked by right wing freaks and losers.'
Abbie also revealed that she was currently in the process of writing a book - a process made almost impossible when coupled with the emotional drain of dealing with internet trolls.
'I've decided to put in like a boundary for myself to protect my brain because it's been extraordinarily difficult this year and it's incredibly exhausting,' she said.
'I'm also writing a book right now and, in order to write the book I need to be mentally clear because the constant criticism I receive makes me paralysed to write or actually do anything because I believe I am what everyone says I am.'
Abbie's emotional admission comes after her online rival Clementine Ford defended Abbie amid their ongoing internet stoush.
The pair have been exchanging barbs for weeks after Clementine accused Abbie of profiting from the 'performance of being politically engaged'.
However, the pair have appeared to have found some common ground, with Clementine defending Abbie in an explosive response to an online troll.
She shared an image to her Instagram story on Thursday that showed a very off-colour remark by a troll account called 'Right Of Centre'.
The comment read: 'Two ugly xx trolls. Men should not help them at all.
'If they're being mugged they're not worth it - too ugly - only good looking nice women deserve chivalry on any level.'
Clementine responded swiftly, slamming the commenter as an 'incel creep'.
'Regardless of my views on AC [Abbie Chatfield], I'm pretty sure neither of us need or have ever needed nor have ever asked for men to help us - especially not weird little incel creeps who blame women for their basement position on the male hierarchy,' she said.
'F*** off, loser. We both know you would p*** your pants in fear if one of us even looked in your direction.'
Abbie and Clementine's feud began when the latter wrote on her 'Dear Clementine' blog on Substack that some influencers, like Abbie, profit from the 'performance of being politically engaged' while criticising anyone who disagrees with them.

Lleyton Hewitt's warning to daughter Mia's boyfriend amid young couple's rock'n'roll lifestyle as 'Beckham-style feud is brewing behind the scenes'
Lleyton Hewitt reportedly has concerns about the fast and loose lifestyle his eldest daughter Mia leads with her rock'n'roll boyfriend, Vanda Erich. The 19-year-old musician and her Liquid Zoo frontman partner were first romantically linked in May last year when they were seen going for lunch in Surry Hills. They are now often seen living wild and free, with sources claiming tennis champion Lleyton, 44, fears Mia is being led astray, according to Woman's Day. 'Lleyton is just like any dad out there and is super protective, especially of his girls. He is very much serving up the tough dad act right now,' an insider said. 'He wants Mia to be happy but he thinks she's still too young to be getting into any kind of serious relationship.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The publication went on to claim there are signs a 'Beckham-style feud is brewing behind the scenes'. The former Wimbledon star was reportedly unimpressed with images that emerged last year of Mia and Vanda smoking and acting up for cameras. He is said to want Mia to experiment and enjoy life, but not at the cost of a healthy lifestyle and quality time with the family. 'Living her dreams is important but so is maintaining her relationship with her family,' the source said. Notably, Mia is the only member of the Hewitt family who follows Vanda on social media. Not even her younger brother Cruz can be found in Vanda's follow list, despite the singer following the 16-year-old's Instagram account. Mia and Vanda have frequently been spotted spending time together at the beach and with their friends. In September last year, the rising star, often dubbed a 'nepo baby', performed her first gig with her band Father's Favourite. They are now often seen living wild and free, with sources claiming tennis champion Lleyton fears Mia is being led astray. Pictured with his wife Bec Hewitt Mia, the daughter of Lleyton and his Home and Away star wife Bec, looked stylish in a tiny white skirt and black top as she wowed the crowd at a brewery in Sydney. Her band's Instagram page describes the group as a 'bohemian folk rock duo'. Mia was earlier seen during an outing with a group of friends in Sydney's Rose Bay as they stepped out at Rose Bay House for a meal. The Father's Favourite folk singer shocked onlookers as she was seen smoking during the outing. Her rock star boyfriend Vanda, the lead singer of the band Liquid Zoo, also acted up for the cameras as he was seen wearing shades and swearing while the group laughed. The duo were also joined by one of Vanda's Liquid Zoo bandmates as they all got out of Mia's car together and headed for a bite to eat. Mia's parents, Lleyton and Bec, met on the tennis court for a charity game at the Starlight Cup back in 1999. The couple didn't reconnect until a few years later and finally met up in person in 2005, before getting engaged after a whirlwind romance that lasted six weeks. Grand Slam champion Lleyton married actress Bec 18 years ago in a romantic ceremony at the Sydney Opera House. As well as singer Mia, they also share another daughter, Ava, 14, and son Cruz.

Australian royal prank DJs claim their bosses MADE them phone the Princess of Wales's hospital and impersonate the late Queen before nurse's suicide
The Australian 'shock jock' behind a prank call to the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated, which led to the suicide of a nurse, claims he was pressurized into making the call by bosses. Michael Christian and 2Day FM radio co-host Mel Greig made headlines around the world on December 4, 2012 when they duped staff at King Edward VII's Hospital in London, The Telegraph reported. The duo convinved nurse Jacintha Saldanha that they were the late Queen and the then-Prince Charles checking in on the Princess of Wales, who at the time was being treated for severe morning sickness while pregnant with Prince George. Falling for their deception, Ms Saldanha disclosed some of the Princess' private medical information before transferring the call through to the ward. Humiliated by the telephone prank, the nurse - a mother to two children - later took her own life. In one of three apparent suicide notes, Ms Saldanha wrote a short letter in which she expressed her deep anger at the Australian radio presenters and blamed them for her tragic death. The nurse's death led to a huge backlash against the show and brodcaster, with its two presenters forced into hiding after receiving death threats. In a lawsuit against the station's broadcaster, Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), Mr Christian alleges that he was ordered to make the call by the production team only days after starting in the role. He said that the hoax call breached the Australian Communications and Media Authority code of practice and he should never have been asked to do it. Mr Christian also said that he was given insufficient support in the wake of Ms Saldanha's suicide. He claims that the company promised to provide support in the event that any of the antics on the show overstepped the boundaries. Mr Christian, who lost his job in February, accuses the organisation of turning him and Ms Greig into 'convenient fall guys and scapegoats'. Mr Christian's lawyers wrote: 'SCA did not immediately take public accountability for the incident, but rather allowed Mr Christian and Ms Greig to be left exposed to relentless public vitriol, harassment and abuse, including death threats. 'The radio presenters were left by SCA as the convenient fall guys and scapegoats for SCA management decisions and non-compliance.' Mr Christian claims that the incident severely damaged his reputation and earnings potential. He also claims that he was discouraged from pursing legal action against SCA at the time because they promised that they would help him rebuilding his reputation and career. Among Mr Christian's greivences are that SCA filed to provide sufficient mental health support or start a PR campaign to clear his name. He also claims that he was not offered promotions or pay rises to reward his loyalty for sticking with the company, and instead was slowly phased-out. 'When we thought about making a call it was going to go for 30 seconds, we were going to be hung up on, and that was it. As innocent as that,' Mr Christian told Channel Nine's A Current Affair programme less than a week after the prank broke. Describing him and his co-host as 'shattered, gutted, heartbroken', he said 'no-one could've imagined this to happen.' 'The accents were terrible. You know it was designed to be stupid. We were never meant to get that far from the little corgis barking in the background - we obviously wanted it to be a joke,' Ms Greig added. 'There's nothing that can make me feel worse than what I feel right now. And for what I feel for the family. We're so sorry that this has happened to them.' Speaking in 2014, Ms Greig revealed that her mother had received death threats, while the 2DayFM presenter herself battled depression. 'I felt like a failure as a human being,' Ms Greig said in a tearful interview with Channel Seven's Sunday Night. 'I am ashamed of myself. I should have tried harder to not let that prank call air.' At the time of Ms Saldanha's death, the Prince and Princess of Wales said they were 'deeply saddened' by her passing. Billy Brownless stuns girlfriend with shock 'relationship question' during romantic anniversary getaway
Billy Brownless is continuing to enjoy his anniversary with girlfriend Crystle Fleur with a romantic getaway, despite trolls trying to rain on their parade. The AFL great, 58, and his blonde bombshell partner, 52, have been enjoying a romantic West Australian getaway in Monkey Mia. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the popular presenter shared a series of images from the trip, including one photo that showed the happy couple beaming as they soaked up the coastal surrounds. Another showed Billy sitting in the couple's hotel room, sporting a mock-serious expression while holding up a card from a card game. Possibly posing a question to Crystle, Billy's card read: 'If I came with a warning label, what would it be?' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Other images showed sunsets and some of the fauna that Billy and Crystle had encountered along the way. 'Day 1 and 2 of The Big Adventure!! 9 hr drive from Perth to Monkey Mia (I survived) dodged goats, kangaroos and emus,' Billy captioned his holiday snaps. 'Swam with Dolphins, turtles and Dugongs (ugly) and finished the evening with the relationship question, Crystle should have asked 12 months ago! The post was met with a flurry of comments from fans and followers, with many gushing over the obviously happy couple. 'Looking so happy, I'm so glad you found love. Beautiful couple,' one swooned, while another chimed in with a similar: 'Congratulations Billy and Crystle. What a great couple. Have a couple of frothies.' Others took the chance to throw some subtle shade at Billy for his photography skills. 'Stick to jokes Bill, photography not a strong point,' one quipped, while another offered: 'You take some of the photos with a potato, fat ? Come on.' It comes as trolls took aim at Billy as he marked his one-year anniversary with Crystle this week. Others took the chance to throw some subtle shade at Billy for his photography skills. Crystle took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate their milestone anniversary with a sweet picture of the couple, which has received nearly 7,000 likes. However, many trolls poured into the comments section of the post to share their thoughts on the pairing, with some saying Billy is 'punching above his weight' with the mum-of-three, and that she's out of his league. 'Good to see you happy Bill, but still punching way above,' one person wrote. Another chimed in: 'Punching above your weight there, big man...' The romance between Billy and Crystle first became public knowledge in October last year. Since then, he and Crystle have been inseparable, seen enjoying outings across Melbourne. In February, the pair were spotted strolling hand-in-hand through South Yarra after a casual café date. A mother-of-three, Crystle's low-key style and successful career have captured Brownless' heart. One of Geelong's most popular players, Billy made his name with 198 AFL games and 441 goals. Post-retirement, he transitioned into a media career, starring on The Footy Show and radio's The Rush Hour. Billy's private life hit the headlines in 2016 when his friendship with Garry Lyon was rocked by scandal. The former best mates fell out after it emerged Lyon was in a relationship with his ex-wife, Nicky. The public split caused deep hurt for Billy, who spoke openly about his disappointment. However, in recent years, the pair have moved towards reconciliation. The families spent Christmas together and, in January, Billy and Garry appeared on air together for the first time in years. In a further sign of healing, Lyon attended the wedding of Billy's daughter, Ruby, in Noosa in March.
