World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025: Odette at the National Gallery Singapore ranks 25th globally

Time Out7 days ago

We got a little taste of the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list earlier this month, when the extended 51–100 rankings were released, and yes, local favourites made the cut. Burnt Ends, known for its modern Australian barbecue, and contemporary Singaporean restaurant Labyrinth secured spots 93 and 97 respectively.
Now, the full list is out – and Odette has once again earned its place among the world's culinary elite. The elegant French restaurant, tucked within the National Gallery Singapore, comes in at number 25 this year. No stranger to the top 50, Odette has consistently appeared on the list since 2018, though it slips slightly from last year's 24th place.
Helmed by chef Julien Royer, Odette is named after his grandmother, whose influence can be seen in his personal approach to French cuisine. While rooted in classic techniques, the menu carries subtle Asian flair, a nod to Chef Julien's time in the region. The restaurant's muted, light-toned interiors exude a sense of calm and quiet luxury, while the extensive wine list and impeccable service complete the dining experience.
Here are the top 10 restaurants in the world in 2025:
Maido (Lima)
Asador Etxebaarri (Atxondo)
Quintonil (Mexico City)
Diverxo (Madrid)
Alchemist (Copenhagen)
Gaggan (Bangkok)
Sézanne (Tokyo)
Table by Bruno Verjus (Paris)
Kjolle (Lima)
Don Junio (Buenos Aires)

David Beckham seen for first time since op as he gives injury update

David Beckham entered the field at the Club World Cup with his arm in a sling after undergoing a secret operation from an injury he suffered during his playing career David Beckham was seen for the first time since his secret operation. The former footballer stepped out with his arm in a sling after going for surgery on an injury that had plagued him for over 20 years. The secret operation was required following a broken wrist he suffered while playing for England 22 years ago. At the time, he landed awkwardly after a challenge in a game against South Africa. The Three Lions went on to win the 2003 friendly 2-1. ‌ Now, though, the Inter Miami co-founder was on hand to watch the American side's huge clash with another of his former teams, Paris Saint-Germain. ‌ The teams faced off in Atlanta in the Club World Cup. Looking smart in his club's suit, Becks was seen sporting a navy blue sling with his arm heavily bandaged. At one point, he was seen chatting with former PSG midfielder, Blaise Matuidi at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Georgia. The 50-year-old former England captain looked in good spirits as he watched on heavily strapped. He said: "It's fine. It's an old injury that needed surgery, but it's all good. All good." It comes days after he revealed he was recovering in hospital. At the time, his loving wife Victoria Beckham shared a snap of the star lying in a hospital bed with his arm in a sling. Over the top of the image of him smiling in a hospital gown, former Spice Girl Victoria wrote: "Get well soon, Daddy." She also gave him a friendship bracelet made with white beads to form 'Get Well Soon'. ‌ David recently revealed how his hugely successful career had left him with a number of injuries after years of "wear and tear". He said: "Certain parts of my body were a real mess." And speaking to DAZN, Becks said of his latest op: ""It's fine. It's an old injury that needed surgery, but it's all good. All good." Discussing the match at hand, he also added to DAZN: "To be honest, it's quite an emotional match for me. Obviously, the team that we own is playing probably the best team in the world right now, and who would have thought?" ‌ "For me to finish my career in Paris the way I did with this club was very special. I only spent six months there, but it felt like 16 years. It's a real family. "It's a real special club, owned by special people, run by a special man. We're very proud of this moment to be stood here, knowing that we are playing against PSG as owners, as friends, as partners. It's very special." Ahead of Sunday's match, Lionel Messi also admitted that he wasn't entirely happy during his time in the French capital. He said: "Coming to play for Inter Miami was an opportunity and the way things developed during my last years in Paris, although it was a decision that I had to make on the go, because I had to leave from Barcelona, I went through two years which I didn't enjoy. "I wasn't happy on a daily basis, with the training, the matches. I had a hard time adapting to all that. I felt called to come to Inter [Miami] because it's a club that's growing, very new, with few years as a club."

Holly Valance spotted without wedding ring following divorce announcement

Pop singer and actress Holly Valance appeared keen to quietly prove that she is indeed back in the singles community following shock news she is to divorce billionaire husband Nick Candy Holly Valance has been spotted out without her wedding ring on following the news she is to divorce billionaire property tycoon Nick Candy. The 42-year-old pop singer has been married to the 52-year-old businessman since 2012 and they are parents to daughters Luka, 11, and Nova, seven. Over the weekend, it was revealed the couple have decided to call time on their marriage - while sources close to the couple revealed they separated a year ago. Now Holly has been spotted out and about with no wedding band to be seen on her hand. ‌ The mum-of-two was spotted at Heathrow's Terminal 5 in London on Saturday night, casually dressed in jeans and a black top. She had a designer cardigan draped on her shoulders and carried a large Dior tote bag and wheeled suitcase. ‌ With her hair loose around her shoulders and hidden behind large sunglasses, the pop singer looked as thought she were as dressed down as possible to avoid drawing attention. However, images captured of the singer seemingly showed her making it clear to all that she was keen to broadcast her new marital status. The Daily Mail published snaps that showed Holly walking with her left hand held prominently in front of her. With her right hand firmly on her carry case, her left was held in front of her as she moved her way through the airport. She had one ring on her index finger, but her wedding finger was free of either an engagement or wedding ring. Her casual appearance came around the same time that news broke that her marriage to Nick, who is worth an estimated £1.4bn, had come to an end. On Saturday, a source told The Sun:"This has been a very difficult period for both Nick and Holly, and they are keeping things private out of respect for their family. The joint parenting of their two amazing daughters remains their top priority." The source added: "They've had to juggle a demanding lifestyle. Between family, public life, and Nick's intense work commitments, it's been a tough balance. This is a family matter and they're doing their best to handle things thoughtfully. Privacy is obviously very important to them both, so they can focus on what's best for the family." ‌ Meanwhile, a spokesman for the couple said: "This is a private matter and we will not be making any further comment." Holly rose to fame playing Felicity Scully on the iconic Australian soap opera Neighbours from 1999 until 2002. She returned to the show for a cameo appearance in 2022 after the show was cancelled and aired a final episode - which also saw major stars including Guy Pearce and Kylie Minogue return. She has also enjoyed success as a pop singer - with her 2002 single Kiss Kiss topping the charts both in the UK and her native Australia. While Holly is believed to have a personal wealth of around £10 million, her husband has achieved billionaire status through his work as a property developer. He launched a business with his brother, Christian Candy, 50, and formed the lucrative CPC Group in 2004 - a luxury property development firm. The brothers include the One Hyde Park complex on their portfolio - with the building and properties within estimated to be worth £2 billion alone.
