Golden sand beach with a 'nostalgic pier' - a day trip from London
If you're struggling to find the perfect beach spot for summer 2025, look no further With more than 1,000 beaches across the UK, choosing the ideal spot for a summer day can be challenging. However, one travel enthusiast's recommendation may help you narrow down that list. The TikTok creator, dubbed Lotteboo, joked that the stunning location had left her 'flabbers truly gasted' after a short trip earlier in the year. Featuring golden sands and a nostalgic pier, this spot is just under three hours from central London, making it the perfect choice for a day trip. Speaking on the social media platform, she said: "The sun is shining, and do you know what that makes me want to do as a basic British girl? Go to the seaside and have f***ing ice cream. 'Which seaside?', I hear you ask. "There are so many to choose from, we're an island, after all. 'Don't say Cornwall, it's too far away,' Southwold. We'll go to Southwold - a sandy beach with colourful, albeit very overpriced, beach huts dotted along the sand. Check." Southwold is a quaint seaside town in Suffolk on the east coast of the UK. It not only boasts a golden sandy beach but an array of quintessentially British independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, too. During her time in Southwold, Lotteboo also enjoyed the coastline's 'nostalgic' pier filled with various arcade games suitable for all ages. She then visited the town's lighthouse, which visitors can view from the inside if they wish. "A nostalgic pier filled with arcade games and cute little plaques with love notes on. Check," she continued. "A town filled with independent shops, gorgeous bakeries and its own brewery that you can do a tour of, and little galleries to browse at your own leisure. Check." She then joked: "If I am going to the seaside, I want a flipping lighthouse and a promenade. For me to wander like a Victorian lady who has been sent to the seaside for a change of scenery after declaring she might kill her husband." If you're keen to visit Southwold without a car, the nearest train stations are located in Darsham and Halesworth. These are roughly 10 miles away from Southwold, but bus services are available at each location. However, the creator added: "If you live in London - I don't know why I always say that I don't even live in London - but if you do live in London, it is a bit spicy, but you can probably do it in a day. Like, I think the drive is about two hours [and] 40 minutes. "So, you are going to be tired, but you are also going to be refreshed. So, maybe just do it!" Lotteboo's video quickly garnered several comments from fans, many of whom appreciated her recommendation. Among them, one person wrote: "I'm not great with heights but I went up the lighthouse. Great views." Meanwhile, another added: "Looks lovely there, thanks," as someone else wrote: "We are lucky that you share all these wonderful things to see and do."

Love Island's Casey breaks silence on returning to villa with telling comment
Reality star Casey O'Gorman has finally broken his silence after speculation that he would enter the villa for a fourth time, dropping a major hint that he could return Just months after winning All Stars with now-ex Gabby Allen, Casey O'Gorman has broken his silence about whether he would do the show for a fourth time. It's been reported that the 28-year-old is in talks to take part in spin-off series Love Island Games and now the hunk has addressed the rumours for the first time. He told The Sun: 'I don't think I'd go back on for £10,000, no. Look, money talks right? So if I'm getting paid £1,000,000 to go back on, I think you'd be stupid not to. That's not really been a thought of mine to be honest with you." Casey and Gabby, 33, won the second series of All Stars back in February but ultimately called time on their relationship three months later. Their representatives released a statement that read: 'After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically. 'This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other." Casey shot to fame back in 2023 when he appeared as a contestant on the ninth series of the hit show, but he and love interest Rosie Seabrook fizzled out soon after leaving the villa. He then returned for the first series of All Stars in 2024, but ultimately was unable to find a love connection on the show. Runners up Luca Bish and Grace Jackson are the only couple from All Stars series two to still be going strong after leaving the villa. Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint have appeared to be giving their romance another go, just a week after splitting up last month. The first series of Love island Games aired on Peacock back in November 2023 and saw various former contestants from different countries competing in challenges. As well as trying to find love on the show, the islanders would have to compete in physical and mental challenges in order to stay in the villa. Competing on behalf of the British version were Curtis Pritchard, Toby Aromolaran, Georgia Steel, Megan Barton Hanson and Liberty Poole. Also taking part were Mike Boateng, Scott Van-der-Sluis, Eyal Booker and eventual winner Jack Fowler, who won with US native Justine Ndiba. As fans eagerly await the second season of Love Island Games, they can tune into the current 11 th series which is airing on ITV2. With movie night set to air tonight (July 11), fans have plenty of exciting episodes to watch ahead of the reported final on August 4.

Kartal reached the fourth round after wins over No20 seed Jelena Ostapenko, Viktoriya Tomova and Diane Parry. She eventually went down to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in controversial scenes as the line calling system failed during her debut on Centre Court. And she lived up to the promise by heading to a tattoo parlour in her native Brighton. In the video posted by the LTA, Kartal talked through the designs with the artist before settling on two tattoos - one on each forearm. The first was specifically a nod to playing on tennis' most famous court for the first time. Walking out on Centre Court is something you dream of as a little kid, so hitting that one was massive. "Every time I see this, it just reminds me of Centre Court. That moment of walking out - special one that one.' "As soon as I came off, my DMs were like, 'You've got to get the thunder lightning.' And I was like, 'That's such a good idea.' The second tattoo was the number 329 - her number representing Great Britain when she made her live Billie Jean King Cup debut in April. Kartal added: "329 was another tattoo promise I made that if I played a live Billie Jean King Cup tie, then I would get my LTA Colour Holder number tattooed somewhere I can see it. "Two [wins] from two on the debut. It was the dream debut, couldn't have gone any better." Kartal also gave some explanation to her host of other tattoos, revealing the first one was a "bit of a drunken one" and her most meaningful is the paw print of her dog who passed away. 8 Kartal took her designs with her Credit: YouTube/LTA 8 She called her week at Wimbledon a 'dream' Credit: YouTube/LTA 8 The thundercloud and lightning represented her walk out on to Centre Court Credit: YouTube/LTA
