Highway worker, Colorado State Patrol cruiser struck in 6-car hit-and-run crash in Adams County
A Colorado Department of Transportation contractor and a state trooper are in the hospital after a six-car crash in Adams County Sunday morning and now a man is in jail, facing multiple charges connected to the crash.
It happened just before 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 36 near Pecos Street, just north of Denver.
Colorado State Patrol says the driver, now identified as 28-year-old Bryan Granillo, struck a CSP cruiser from behind, pinning the highway worker. Granillo then allegedly tried to flee the scene.
A second CSP trooper performed what the agency called a "tactical vehicle intervention" to stop the car. Granillo was arrested at the scene and taken to the Adams County Jail.

The Commerce City man faces charges of DUI, felony eluding, and failure to remain at the scene of a crash.
Sunday's arrest is just Granillo's latest motor vehicle-related incident. He has other open cases, including a DUI and careless driving arrest out of Thornton earlier this month, another DUI and reckless driving case from Thornton earlier this month, and driving under restraint in Golden from last month.
The trooper and highway worker were taken to the hospital and have since been released.

Hit-and-run driver that struck and killed bicyclist arrested following brief pursuit in Riverside County
A hit-and-run driver who allegedly struck and killed a bicyclist was arrested following a brief pursuit in Hemet on Saturday. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Domenigoni Parkway and State Street a little after 5:30 p.m. after learning that a pedestrian had been struck in the area, according to the Hemet Police Department. Upon arrival, they found the victim, who hasn't yet been identified, lying in the roadway. Witnesses told officers that the car involved in the crash fled immediately. They provided information on the vehicle's description and direction of travel, which allowed officers to locate the driver. They tried to conduct a traffic stop, but instead the suspect refused to yield, prompting a brief pursuit. Police say it lasted about three minutes before the driver was arrested. "This investigation is currently ongoing and Driving under the influence does appear to be a factor in this collision," said a news release from Hemet police. Military intelligence battalion sergeant major arrested for DUI and suspended
A senior enlisted leader at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia has been temporarily removed from duty after being arrested last month for allegedly driving under the influence. Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel R. Gibson, of the 224th Military Intelligence Battalion, was arrested by the Chatham County Sheriff's Office on May 22, an Army spokesperson confirmed to Task & Purpose. Gibson has been suspended pending the outcome of his court case, said MyRon Young, a spokesman for U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command. Young deferred further questions to the Army Criminal Investigation Division and Chatham County Sheriff's Office. Task & Purpose has reached out to both organizations. News of Gibson's arrest had been shared on social media in recent days. Attempts by Task & Purpose to reach Gibson were unsuccessful. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gibson joined the Army in January 2003. He served as a human resources specialist before becoming a geospatial intelligence imagery analyst in January 2006, according to his official biography. According to the biography, Gibson has deployed to Iraq and has been awarded the Combat Action Badge, though the page does not specify the time frame of deployments. Gibson has also completed the Basic Airborne Course and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Language Program Manager Course, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in applied management from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
