‘Easygoing' Keith Urban ‘did not hang up' on Aussie radio hosts over racy Nicole Kidman question

New York Post16 hours ago
Fans kept their eyes wide shut after Keith Urban's uncomfortable radio appearance Tuesday morning.
However, it turns out that the country singer, 57, wasn't the one who hung up on Mix 102.3's 'Hayley & Max in the Morning' after they asked an intimate question about his wife, Nicole Kidman.
A source told People that 'Keith did not hang up, period.'

'He doesn't host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger,' they added.
The insider noted that Urban is 'very easygoing' and did not have an issue with the question at hand.

The interview seemed to be going well at first, with Urban in high spirits over playing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on August 28, sharing it's 'just a good vibe in the audience.'
Things then took a turn after hosts Hayley Pearson and Max Burford asked the Grammy winner to play the radio show's 'Wall of Truth' game.
'What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?' Burford inquired.

'What just happened here?' he then asked as a producer said, 'He's disconnected from Zoom.'
'I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question,' the producer continued. 'He's gone, see you Keith.'
Pearson, meanwhile, was worried they had 'upset' Urban, noting she had a feeling 'that would happen.'

'Does Keith Urban hate us? Do we have beef with Keith Urban now?' Burford said before asking his co-host, 'If you knew this was going to happen, Hayley, why didn't you stop me asking the question?'
Kidman, 58, and Efron, 37, starred as love interests in Netflix's 2024 rom-com 'A Family Affair.' The actress played a widowed writer who starts dating a selfish actor (Efron).
Reflecting on their intimate scenes, the 'Big Little Lies' alum explained last year that it was easier because she and the 'High School Musical' star had already worked together in the 2012 thriller 'The Paperboy.'

'It's really helpful when you're doing this sort of work together that you've already got a history together, because it's easy,' Kidman told People. 'You're not working to create a history. So I'm not like, 'Can I touch you?' I feel incredibly trusting of Zac.'
Nicole also starred as a CEO who has a love affair with her young intern, played by Harris Dickinson, 29, in the 2024 film 'Babygirl.'
Meanwhile, it's no secret that Urban is not a fan of discussing his relationship with Kidman, whom he married in 2006, while promoting his work.

Urban, who shares daughters Sunday, 16, and Faith, 14, with the actress, was on the 'Jam Nation with Jonesy & Amanda' podcast last September, when host Amanda Keller asked about their relationship.
She inquired if Urban thought his and Kidman's love story would have still happened if they had never met at G'day Australia, to which he quickly corrected her that it was 'G'day LA.'
'No, I think it would,' Urban answered, with Keller pushing, 'Yeah? Are you a believer in fate or do you think it's two Australians, it would have happened?'
'No idea,' Urban responded before stating, 'Anyway, moving on.'

In December, Kidman gushed over how the singer still keeps the romance alive all these years later.
'I like being asked out, which he still does,' she told People. 'Seven nights ago, we went to dinner in New York. We love Japanese food, but I'm open [to everything]. I like not knowing where he's going to take me. Surprise me, baby!'

Kelly Ripa Praised by Daughter for ‘Meaningful' Piece of Fashion Advice

Kelly Ripa Praised by Daughter for 'Meaningful' Piece of Fashion Advice originally appeared on Parade. TV host Kelly Ripa has provided viewers with knowledgeable advice for over two decades, but her guidance as a mother is truly unmatched. The journalist was recently praised by her daughter, Lola Consuelos, whom she shares with husband Mark Consuelos, for her 'meaningful' fashion advice. 'Is there any piece of advice that I gave you when you were young that you thought was such bulls--t, and then you were like, 'Oh my God, my mom was right,'' Kelly, 54, asked Lola, 24, during the Wednesday, June 25, episode of the 'Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa' podcast. Lola gushed that her mom has given her plenty of tips on how to navigate life, but one recommendation stood out the most. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 'One of them being don't wear leggings as pants. That was amazing,' Lola admitted. Lola's answer was quite humorous, as she was wearing leggings during the podcast episode. However, she shared that she came straight from the gym. Beyond the materialistic advice, the 'Roles' singer shared that Kelly, who also shares sons Michael Consuelos and Joaquin Consuelos with Mark, 54, taught her to be 'respectful and kind.' "It's been really valuable and I forget that a lot of people don't get that foundational advice that should be like a baseline of respect," Lola said. "Some people don't have that, which blows my mind. But it's amazing that you guys raised the boys and I so amazingly." The 'Divine Timing' artist also reflected on a recent roadblock she faced, which she overcame by wise words she received from Kelly. "You were like, 'I'm telling you, when you stop giving that fluster-ness attention, it will all fall into place,'" Lola continued. "And I stopped giving that thing in my head attention. And lo and behold, everything got into place." Kelly and Mark have opened up about their parenting styles over the years and shared that they wanted to raise great human beings. "I think I had definitive ideas about raising girls versus raising boys, even though I don't really believe in gender stereotyping,' the family matriarch told People in 2020. 'My sons are just as sensitive as my daughter, and my daughter is as strong as my sons.' Kanye West's Australian Visa Revoked Over ‘Heil Hitler' Song

Rapper and one-time billionaire Kanye West, who has lost brand deals and hundreds of millions of dollars for spewing antisemitic rhetoric online, on Wednesday had his Australian visa revoked weeks after releasing a song called 'Heil Hitler' that has been banned on most streaming platforms. Kanye West attends the Anonymous Club fashion show during Berlin Fashion Week July 1, 2024. Getty Images Tony Burke, Australian home affairs minister, said in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Wednesday that West "no longer has a valid visa" in the country after immigration officials recently reassessed his application. West, whose wife Bianca Censori is Australian, has frequently traveled to the nation to visit family and has "made a lot of offensive comments," Burke said, but the release of the "Heil Hitler" track on May 8 prompted another look at his immigration status. Whether or not West is permanently banned from Australia is unclear, but Burke said if West is 'going to have a song and promote that sort of Nazism—we don't need that in Australia.' The decision comes two years after Australian education minister Jason Clare first suggested West's 'awful' anti-Jewish rhetoric could disqualify him from entry to the country. Key Background West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, released a song called "Heil Hitler" on May 8—the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. The chorus includes the line, 'All my n—s Nazis, n—a, heil Hitler' and ends with a lengthy sample from a Hitler speech. Spotify, Apple Music,YouTube and other platforms quickly pulled the song from streaming, but it gained millions of views on X, the platform owned by Elon Musk, in the days after its release. In now-deleted tweets two weeks after the song's release, West declared on X he was 'done with antisemitism' and asked God to "forgive me for the pain I've caused." He then released a version of 'Heil Hitler' called 'Hallelujah' that replaced earlier references to Nazism with references to Christianity. Conservative podcast host and media personality Joe Rogan has defended West's "Heil Hitler" song, calling it "catchy." He then said that banning the song was to "support" what Kanye was trying to say about Jewish people in the first place: "if you talk about Jewish people, that they're going to remove you from everything,' Rogan said. 'Remove you from banking, which is what he's saying. They run everything.' Tangent West has been publicly touting antisemitic ideas since a conversation with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was leaked in October 2022. He then made a bizarre series of public appearances—including wearing a "White Lives Matter" shirt—and news leaked that he'd wanted to name his 2018 album after Adolf Hitler. Several anonymous sources told reporters he had an 'obsession' with the Nazi leader, and six of his former employees told NBC News he'd made several pro-Hitler and pro-Nazi remarks. In the wake of his comments, West lost his business partnerships with Balenciaga, Adidas, Gap and Footlocker. His wax figure was removed from Madame Tussauds, the Texas A&M football team stopped using the song "Power" as its entrance song and West was dropped from the Creative Artists Agency. Earlier this year, West posted to X that he was 'NEVER APOLOGIZING FOR MY JEWISH COMMENTS' and 'IM A NAZI.' He then ran a Super Bowl ad in the Los Angeles area directing people to where a $20 plain white T-shirt with a black swastika printed on the front was the only item available for sale. Shopify ultimately removed the store from its e-commerce platform and 33&West, a Los Angeles talent agency, dropped West as a client. Forbes Valuation West was once considered a billionaire, largely due to the Yeezy clothing and footwear line with Adidas that accounted for $1.5 billion of his net worth, but he lost his status when the partnership ended. Forbes estimated in 2022 that West is worth $400 million thanks to his real estate, value of his music catalog, stake in ex-wife Kim Kardashian's shapewear firm, Skims, and other assets. West earlier this year claimed to be a billionaire again, but we have not changed our valuation. Brad Pitt Names the Only 2 A-List Women Who Have Left Him Starstruck

Brad Pitt shared that the two stars who ever left him starstruck were Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon Pitt costarred with the two A-listers in the 1991 hit Thelma & Louise, which has been considered his breakout role He shared that he "got over" his awe "quickly" as he worked on the filmEven Brad Pitt gets starstruck! The 61-year-old Oscar winner opened up on the Wednesday, July 2 episode of the New Heights podcast with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce about the two female costars who left him starstruck. 'When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was. Yeah,' Pitt said of his Thelma & Louise costars. 'I got over it quickly, though.' The 1991 film marked Pitt's first breakout role as he played the smooth-talking J.D., who schmoozes and sleeps with Davis' Thelma before stealing the friends' funds. "Geena [Davis] was so sweet and kind and delicate," Pitt said of filming his sex scene with Davis in a 2023 interview with W Magazine. "That love scene, I think, went on for two days of shooting. She took care of me." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. And while Pitt was an up-and-comer at the time of his appearance in the film, he also left his mark on the film's stars. "When I saw the film, the part that really impressed me, in addition to his good looks and great body, was his sense of humor because he really fleshed that part out in a way that wasn't necessarily in the script," Sarandon told Extra in 2021. "I thought, 'Ah, this guy's interesting, you know, he's not just a really gorgeous face.' ' "He took it as a character part and as we can see from his career, he really continued to push the envelope in ways that he really didn't have to when you look like that," she added. Davis was similarly wowed by Pitt's performance in the film, opening up to PEOPLE in 2020 for the iconic movie's 30th anniversary. "He just has 'it.' I could tell when he was auditioning that he was super talented," she told PEOPLE after the actor snagged his first Oscar. "He has done so many incredible things over the years. I don't think that it is unusual for him to be honored. He really is the 'star' of the moment, which is fabulous, and it is just great to see." The Oscar-winning film has long been heralded as a feminist classic as it showed the two women taking ownership of their lives. "Thelma & Louise changed my life. Really, it sent me in a different direction," Davis said in a 2024 panel alongside Sarandon and Mira Sorvino — moderated by PEOPLE. 'After that movie came out, it was completely different in that people wanted to talk to me about it and how many times they saw it or who they saw it with and how it impacted them.'
