Incredible Horror Shooter F.E.A.R. Just $1 As GOG Races To Save Monolith's Old Games
On February 25, as first reported by Bloomberg, WB confirmed to Kotaku that it was closing three of its studios: Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and Warner Bros. Games San Diego. WB also revealed that it was canceling Monolith's Wonder Woman game, too. Many online were angry and sad about Monolith's shutdown as the studio had been around since the '90s and had produced some beloved games, like No One Lives Forever, Blood, and FEAR. Some of Monolith's classic PC games are hard to play in 2025 for various reasons. But hopefully, that will change soon, thanks to GOG.
On Wednesday, digital game marketplace GOG (previously known as Good Old Games) announced that next month it will add spooky FPS FEAR and its two expansions to the GOG Preservation Program. Currently, FEAR and its expansions are just a dollar on GOG.
Launched late last year, the program is a curated and growing collection of old PC games that GOG is dedicated to supporting and making sure they are playable on modern hardware and new computers for years to come. FEAR was set to join the program later, but after WB killed Monolith, GOG is accelerating its plans to 'properly recognize' the studio's contributions to gaming.
'At GOG, we believe in celebrating the creative minds that have shaped gaming history,' said GOG in a statement on Twitter. 'Monolith Productions has given players some of the most unforgettable experiences, blending groundbreaking gameplay with rich storytelling. To honor their legacy, we're proud to announce that F.E.A.R. Platinum will be joining the GOG Preservation Program—and sooner than planned, with other Monolith icons to join eventually as well.'
GOG further added that it will have more news to share about its wonderful preservation efforts tomorrow, February 27.
So what other Monolith games might be coming to GOG's program soon? Well, there's one title a lot of people want: No One Lives Forever. This spy-themed FPS and its sequel have been famously MIA for many, many years now due to rights issues and other boring nonsense. Unfortunately, based on a follow-up post shared by GOG asking people to vote for No One Lives Forever on the Preservation Program's Dreamlist, it seems unlikely that NOLF or NOLF 2 will be coming to GOG's program anytime soon.
Still, it's nice to see GOG doing the work to preserve and save gaming history even as corporate overlords and terrible executives continue to destroy and gut the video game industry.

Independence Day Celebration (Thursday, July 3) St. Charles hosts its annual event at the West Bank Bridge Park. Gates open at 6pm, and fireworks are at 9pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, but alcohol won't be sold. You can bring an ice chest and folding chairs. Details. Light Up the Lake (Friday, July 4) Mandeville hosts a patriotic tribute with live music and fireworks over Lake Pontchartrain. A 3pm parade gets the party started, followed by performances by Amanda Shaw and The Boogie Men. There will also be food trucks and a kids tent. Fireworks are set for 8:45pm. Details. Go 4th on the River (Friday, July 4) 9pm in downtown New Orleans along the riverfront. The fireworks are visible from the Hilton New Orleans Riverside to Crescent Park in Bywater to Algiers Point on the West Bank. CNN plans to broadcast part of the fireworks show nationally. They'll be streamed live on too. The General Roy S. Kelly fireboat from the Port of New Orleans will do its patriotic water show at 6:30pm followed by the 9pm fireworks. Details. St. Bernard Salutes America (Thursday, July 4) Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center grounds from 5:30pm to 10pm. This free festival in Chalmette has live music, food vendors and a 9:30pm fireworks show. Rumors and fan speculation began for Arjona portraying Wonder Woman after Gunn started following the actress on social media. "I followed Adria on Instagram but everybody came out, 'He just followed her, that means she's Wonder Woman," Gunn said in a new interview with Extra when asked about the rumors. "She'd be a great Wonder Woman, by the way," Gunn continued before explaining that he followed Arjona due to their friendship and from previously working together on the 2016 film The Belko Experiment. Arjona, during an earlier interview with CinemaBlend, also addressed the rumors. "I love James Gunn. He gave me my first movie ever, which was like my first studio movie, so I owe him a lot," Arjona said before crossing her fingers and saying she "doesn't know" if she will be cast as Wonder Woman. Gunn is about to launch the new DC Comics universe on the silver screen with his latest film Superman, which hits theaters on July 11. The new universe will see recasting's for DC's roster of iconic heroes and villains. Gal Gadot previously portrayed Wonder Woman across multiple DC films in the company's first attempt at a cinematic universe. Gadot starred in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2017's Wonder Woman and Justice League and 2020's Wonder Woman: 1984. She also had cameos in 2023's Shazam!: Fury of the Gods and The Flash. Arjona has also starred in Andor, Hit Man and Morbius.

James Gunn Shoots Down ‘Wonder Woman' Casting Theory
Andor There is no one more determined to address and kill fake news items and rumors than DCU head James Gunn, so much so that it's almost become a full-time job for him. Now, he's turned his attention toward a recent rumor about the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, something that did not exist when he first laid out his DCU plans after coming aboard. There's a theory that Gunn is eying Andor actress Adria Arjona to play Wonder Woman due to the fact that he follows her on Instagram. But Gunn said that isn't what happened here: That said, it's not a knock against Arjona, and he's also giving her a vote of confidence: Of course, it's up to Gunn who gets cast, but would he go with Arjona when she's been rumored for this role publicly, and he's talking about it openly? Normally I'd say no, but with James Gunn, he's hard to predict. Hit Man In addition to the Instagram thing, the general consensus is simply that Arjona looks like Wonder Woman and would be great in the role. She's Puerto Rican, not Greek, but neither was the last Diana, the Israeli Gal Gadot. Arjona is also the girlfriend of Jason Momoa, the DCEU veteran who will now enter the DCU playing Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl movie and other projects. Gunn has a history of casting those close to him, and between that connection and, more importantly, their apparent status as 'best friends,' I mean, are you not going to give your best friend a role she would be great in, that you just publicly said she'd be great in? The DCU is a really out-there experiment in relative openness with Gunn and the polar opposite of the MCU and its much quieter head Kevin Feige. Not that he never talks, but he's a churchmouse compared to Gunn, who makes news almost every other day with some bit of news or rumor rebuttal. This is only part of a rumor rebuttal, dismissing the Instagram theory. But in the process I think he revealed that Arjona as Wonder Woman could be a real possibility regardless.
