Home & Away actor Nicholas Cartwright has taken to social media to issue a warning to his fans.
The Australian TV star posted a rare video to Instagram on Monday to address claims that he's been in contact with numerous fans.
The actor revealed that scammers have been pretending to be him, tricking fans into believing they are in a relationship, before asking for money.
'Just thought I'd make a really quick video,' began the soap star. 'I don't normally like to make these sort of announcement things but a lot of women are getting catfished using my pictures on Facebook.'

He continued: 'All sorts of bizarre stuff is going on. I've been getting messages about it and now I've got people contacting my family and my manager. This is my only social media. I hardly use social media.'
Cartwright went on to share his heartbreak to fans whom have been getting tricked by scammers, and doubled down on his insistence that he only has one social media account on Instagram, urging people to not fall for further tricks.

'Long story short, I apologise to anyone getting scammed. Not that it's my fault. I hope that you're OK. I'm not asking for money, or trying to get married to anyone in New Zealand!'
Last year Cartwright hit headlines after it was revealed he lashed out at one of Home & Away's former bosses in a heated social media exchange.
'I'd seen him promoting an upcoming storyline about the River Boys coming back,' Dan Bennett told Daily Mail Australia.
'The show's trying to re-energise that whole crime tone – the drugs and the devilishness – and all I've done is send him a message saying, 'zzz' – as in, 'that's a bit boring, we've seen all that before'.
'Of course, that's just my view; I'm just a fan these days. But next thing you know, I've got Nicholas Cartwright – one of the supposed stars of the show – sending me DMs and calling me 'a c**t'.
'I don't know Nicholas, I've never met him … so to think that's how he talks to fans is deeply concerning,' he said, adding that he'd been in contact with Seven about the heated exchange.

Holly Valance splits from husband after 13 years
Don't miss out on the headlines from Hook Ups & Break Ups. Followed categories will be added to My News. Former Neighbours star Holly Valance and UK billionaire Nick Candy are divorcing after 13 years of marriage. Friends told The Sun that the Australian actress and singer had split from her property tycoon husband in recent weeks. Right-wing glamour couple Holly, 42, and Nick, 52, were last photographed together in March, heading out for lunch in London. A family friend said: 'This has been a very difficult period for both Nick and Holly, and they are keeping things private out of respect for their family. The pair were going through a 'difficult period'. Picture:'The joint parenting of their two amazing daughters remains their top priority. They've had to juggle a demanding lifestyle. Between family, public life, and Nick's intense work commitments, it's been a tough balance. 'This is a family matter and they're doing their best to handle things thoughtfully. Privacy is obviously very important to them both, so they can focus on what's best for the family.' Holly Valance and Nick Candy have split. Picture: Ricky Vigil/GC Images Nick, who is the treasurer of Nigel Farage's Reform, met Holly in 2009 and proposed two years later. They married in 2012 in a £3million California ceremony in front of 300 guests, including Simon Cowell. Holly found fame on Neighbours as Felicity 'Flick' Scully before launching a career as a pop star. Her 2002 debut album Footprints spawned three hits, including Kiss Kiss, which went to No 1. Nick started his property business with brother Christian in the early 1990s while working in advertising. They met back in 2009. Picture: Neil Mockford/GC Images The pair now have a vast portfolio, including One Hyde Park — made up of 86 luxury apartments in central London — worth just over £1billion. Last year, Nick announced he had shunned his Conservative Party membership in favour of Reform. He was appointed as the party's treasurer in December and pledged to raise tens of millions for Mr Farage, including giving a seven-figure sum himself. Holly has become a high-profile figure in right-wing politics. She visited US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in 2022 with her husband and Mr Farage. She also attended former Tory PM Boris Johnson's wedding in 2021. She first appeared in Neighbours back in the early 2000s. Picture: Supplied And she is credited with encouraging Mr Farage to run for Parliament. On her political views, she said last year: 'Everyone starts off as a leftie and then wakes up at some point after making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home, then realises what crap ideas they all are.' A spokesman for the couple said: 'This is a private matter and we will not be making any further comment.' This article originally appeared in The Sun and was reproduced here with permission. Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet split
Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have split. The 49-year-old actor and the 52-year-old film director have announced they are separating with "common accord" and "mutual goodwill" after 18 years together. They announced the split in a statement to the Agence France-Presse news agency, saying they were making the announcement in order "to avoid all speculation, rumours and risky interpretations". They did not reveal a reason for the split. The pair starred opposite each other in 2003's Love Me If You Dare and they began dating in 2007. In 2011 they welcomed their first child, a son named Marcel and in 2017, they had a baby girl. While pregnant with her daughter, Cotillard was forced to deny speculation of a romance with her Allied co-star Brad Pitt amid his split from Angelina Jolie. Cotillard wrote on Instagram at the time: "This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiralling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up." "Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. "I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment." Canet also called out "the haters" who spread the "stupid and unfounded accusations". Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have split. Spoiler alert! Here's the huge Australian A-lister that appears in the Squid Game finale
Don't miss out on the headlines from TV. Followed categories will be added to My News. ****Spoilers for the new season of Squid Game follow**** The season finale of Squid Game season 3 features the cameo of a huge Australian Hollywood star. The one and only Cate Blanchett makes a surprise appearance in the final scene of the hit Korean thriller as a recruiter for the deadly competition. Picking up in the wake of a failed revolution, the final season of the Asian version of the hugely popular show follows the struggle between Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who's determined to take down the games once and for all, and Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who desperately wants to break Gi-hun's faith in humanity. Korean veteran actor Lee Jung-jae returns as Gi-hun in the final season. In the final scene of the show, Front Man finds himself in a car in Downtown Los Angeles, and while stopped at a light, he hears some familiar sounds: the thwap of two ddakji tiles hitting the ground followed by the sharp crack of a slap across the face. Front Man rolls down his window and sees a suited Blanchett playing ddakji with a seemingly desperate man in an alleyway. Blanchett looks up and exchanges a knowing glance with Front Man, who pulls away as Blanchett's attention returns to her new recruit. 'We thought having a woman as a recruiter would be more dramatic and intriguing,' said Squid Game Director Hwang Dong-hyuk. 'And as for why Cate Blanchett, she's just the best, with unmatched charisma. Who doesn't love her? So we were very happy to have her appear. We needed someone who could dominate the screen with just one or two words, which is exactly what she did,' he continued. Cate Blanchett makes an appearance in the finale. Picture: Netflix. The final scene of the series sets up the spin-off. Picture: Netflix. 'If Gong Yoo is the Korean Recruiter, I thought she would be the perfect fit as the American Recruiter, bringing a short but gripping and impactful ending to the story.' He went on to reveal that Blanchett had very limited time to film the cameo, so much so that she shot the entire thing in one take. 'During the shoot, she reminded me of what true talent looks like. Even with just a few looks and lines, her performance was mesmerising,' he shared. 'She was amazing at playing ddakji. I believe she successfully flipped the ddakji with her first try, and we were able to get that one long take right away.' But what exactly does Blanchett's cameo mean for the future of the show? Quite a bit, it turns out, considering where Netflix plans on taking the franchise next. Season 3 is the last for the Asian version of Squid Game, but it's far from over. An English-language spin-off is being developed by director David Finch, who has previously worked with Blanchett on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Blanchett's appearance raises numerous questions, however, like have the Games always had international counterparts or have they been forced to move them after they were nearly discovered by authorities at the end of the final season? Squid Game season 3 is available to stream now on Netflix. Originally published as Spoiler alert! Here's the huge Australian A-lister that appears in the Squid Game finale
