UK police arrest six on suspicion of assault near Iran's London embassy
'Six men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm – they remain in police custody,' police said in a statement.
Local media reported the arrests took place at a protest against the Iranian leadership.
Police did not link the arrests to the Iranian embassy, but said they took place on Prince's Gate in London, which is where the embassy is located.
'Two men were treated for injuries at the scene and have been taken to hospital for further treatment by the London Ambulance Service.
'Police have cordoned off the area while initial investigations take place.'

DHAKA: Witnesses in the trial of Bangladesh's fugitive ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday detailed horrific violence and denial of medical treatment, speaking on the eve of the anniversary of her ouster. Hasina, 77, fled Bangladesh by helicopter on Aug. 5, 2024, after weeks of student-led protests against her rule. She has defied court orders to return from India to attend her trial on charges amounting to crimes against humanity, over the deadly crackdown on the uprising. Imran told the court how, when Hasina visited the hospital ward where he was recovering, he told her he had been shot by the police. Saudi embassy in UK working with local authorities after fatal stabbing of student from Kingdom
LONDON: The Saudi Embassy in London said on Monday that it was coordinating with British authorities to discover the full circumstances of an incident in the English city of Cambridge in which a Saudi citizen was fatally stabbed. Officers responding to reports of violence in the Mill Park area of the city shortly before midnight on Friday found 20-year-old Mohammed Al-Qasim with serious injuries. He died at the scene soon after. Local police arrested two men from Cambridge on Sunday in connection with his death: a 21-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and a 50-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.
