Shania Twain, 59, has used this multipurpose beauty balm since the '90s — it's the 'best of all things'

"I always thought Bag Balm was the best of all things," the Canadian country music star said.
Not to be hyperbolic, but I have been obsessed with Shania Twain since I came out of the womb. I knew the lyrics to "That Don't Impress Me Much" before I learned our national anthem, and to this day, I think "Honey, I'm Home" could awaken me from a medically induced coma.
Shania Twain is a Canadian national treasure and someone I trust far too much for having never met. Through Shania, I have learned two important things: head-to-toe leopard print is iconic, and the beauty secret to surviving harsh, dry weather is Vermont's Original Bag Balm.
The 59-year-old has been a decades-long devotee of the moisturizing balm. In 1999, Shania mentioned Bag Balm in an interview with The London Telegraph, saying, "When I've been flying a lot and my skin is really dry, I'll rub it over my face and on my hair and leave it there all day."
More recently, in an interview with Us Weekly, the Canadian country music star called the balm "the best of all things."
"I try to drink as much water as I can. I have always exfoliated. I don't actually buy an exfoliator; I just make it. If I'm somewhere near the beach, I'll use sand," she told the magazine. "I believe in old-fashioned things, like a bit of Vaseline. I always thought Bag Balm was the best of all things. The cosmetic one that's been a staple for me is Crème de la Mer."
Originally created in 1899 — yes, 1899 — Bag Balm is a moisturizer that was designed to heal chapped cows' udders. It's formulated with petroleum jelly and lanolin and has been made in a small town in Vermont for the past 120-odd years.Lauren Kyle McDavid is married to one of the world's most famous hockey players — but she's more than just a WAG

Shania, alongside other beauty icons like Raquel Welch, even inspired a new generation of social media "skinfluencers" to try the product. TikTok personality Alix Earle swears by the jelly as a cure for chapped lips and dry skin, and thousands of others have recommended the long-time farmer's secret as an alternative to Vaseline for skin slugging.
The healing balm works similarly to a good old tub of petroleum jelly. You can apply it to dry, cracked skin on your hands, feet, elbows and even your lips. Some people swear by it as the miracle cure for diaper rash or irritated skin, and skincare obsessives say it's ideal for slugging. Do you suffer from painful skin chafing? Bag Balm can help with that, too.
More than 700 people have purchased the celebrity-approved balm on Amazon Canada in the past month. Reviewers say it not only "works" but "works harder than anything else."
"I love [it] beyond words," writes one shopper. It's "even better than the expensive French hand cream I've been using for years."
The salve is "wonderful," echoes another. It "heals chapped hands, feet and even diaper rash!" It's "gentle and effective."
With a 4.5-star average rating, shoppers say it's beyond "worth it."
It's "awesome." If you have dry, cracked skin, "this is what you want."
While the vast majority of reviewers call it a moisturizing superstar, some note it's "a bit greasy," something to keep in mind when placing your order.

Black Ops 6's Next Season Begins August 7th

Black Ops 6's Next Season Begins August 7th originally appeared on GameDaily. Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 drops August 7th at 9 a.m. PT, according to the in-game Battle Pass timer. It's not confirmed to be the final season, but it may as well be. Seasons typically run for 8 weeks, and the first look at Black Ops 7 is scheduled for August 19th at Gamescom. COD typically releases in October or November, so I expect a release date announcement that will coincide with the end of Season 5. The main event is the new Zombies map, The Reckoning, set in Janus Towers. If you completed the Easter egg on Shattered Veil, you already know that players will team up with Richtofen to take on S.A.M. and wrap up the Dark Aether storyline. This was recently confirmed during an episode of the COD Pod, where Senior Communications Director Stephanie Snowden announced that Janus Towers will be the final Zombies map in Black Ops 6. Some fans expected more DLC drops, but it sounds like Treyarch is deciding to focus on Black Ops 7 instead. Multiplayer's getting some love too; new maps, modes, and a rumored return of Operator Sims as the Battle Pass headliner. Oh, and there's the crossover with I Know What You Did Last Summer to look forward to as well. Finally, the Battle Pass will bring the M249 LMG to the game. Info leaked by dataminers says we might also get the MP-40, M60, APS underwater rifle, and even a chainsaw. Not exactly subtle, but very on brand for this era of COD. If it works like the other seasons have, this season should run for eight weeks, with a mid-season update coming at the halfway point. With Zombies wrapping up and Black Ops 7 right around the corner, this is definitely one to show up for. This story was originally reported by GameDaily on Jul 28, 2025, where it first appeared.

Hot spots: Orlando's indoor attractions offer cool-down options

ORLANDO, Fla. — Yes, it's crazy hot outside. But yes, there are options to steaming and standing in line for a ride. Orlando has many indoor attractions to fill the overheated vacation and staycation time. Here are five combo packs that offer direct sunlight only whilst you are moving from the car to the gate. Merlin minds Icon Park offers several 1-2 attractions punches, but consider a stroll through Madame Tussauds Orlando then winding through Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. They're both in the large building at the base of the Orlando Eye, so there would be no heat or rain to fret about in between stops. All three of those attractions are owned by Merlin Entertainments, so there are ticket bundles available. Tussauds features wax-based replicas of famous folks ready for their close-ups and your selfies. A recent addition is a new version of Taylor Swift, one of 13 poses created for Tussauds outlets worldwide. Sea Life is home to creatures such as sharks, turtles, stingrays, jellyfish and seahorses, and the structural highlight is probably the Ocean Tunnel that gives dry landers an all-around look at underwater life. Merlin also runs Sea Life Florida Aquarium, which opened next door to Legoland Florida in Winter Haven earlier this year. More info: and Go: Karts and cars At Dezerland Park, which bills itself as Florida's largest indoor attraction, double up on driving-related activities. The building houses electric Go-Kart courses, including a major hairpin. Nearby is the Orlando Auto Museum with 2,000 vehicles worth $200 million. Some are old and rare, some are big-screen famous and others are just, well, unusual. Those attractions are separately ticketed. There are additional Dezerland options, such as bowling, ax throwing, pinball, laser tag, movie theaters and Jumpstart, which blends sports and trampolining. More info: Old and new tech More than a century ago, the Titanic, a modern sea-going marvel, sank in the Atlantic. Some 200 items (and replicas) from the liner are on display at Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, including a formidable chunk of the ship's actual hull. The attraction recently added a black-glass necklace recovered from the ocean floor and thought to be another possible relic from the ship. Tech today allows adventure in a headset. Moving south down International Drive from the Titanic attraction is Sandbox VR, newly opened at Pointe Orlando. The attraction features headsets and full-body motion capture for experiences titled 'Squid Game Virtuals,' 'Amber Sky 2088' and 'Curse of Davy Jones.' More info: and Believe it times 2 It's odd, and that's OK. The Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum has a slew of items related to heaven and Earth, including a room devoted to the freak show that is Florida. But there's also movie-making tributes and Feel Far Out, a space section, that shows off a 3,197-pound meteorite as well as a 'Star Wars' lightsaber wielded on screen by Luke Skywalker. Its next-door neighbor is sister attraction Ripley's Mirror Maze, which messes with your mind with reflections (and reflections of reflections) and LEDs that distort the pathway through. Not coincidentally, Ripley's daily cartoon for Monday told us that 'the human brain is less capable of complex decision-making when it's too hot outside.' More info: Escape from I-Drive Two Orlando museums have fresh offerings, though walking between the two would not be recommended this week. The Orange County Regional History Center presents 'Orlando Collected,' a gathering of items related to pop culture, politics, parks and more in honor of the 150th anniversary of the city's founding. This Friday, the downtown museum has a 'lunch and learn' session on the making of the exhibit. Meanwhile, Orlando Science Center (about 2.5 miles to the north in Loch Haven Park) has four levels of exhibits and films plus its current exhibit called 'DC Superheroes: Discover Your Superpowers.' Capes are provided. More info: and _______ Solve the daily Crossword
