Johor Bomba finds Yamaha motorbike in seawater channel near JB post office after late night collision, rider still missing
According to the Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre, an emergency call was received at 10.49 pm, and the first response team arrived at the scene six minutes later.
'The Operations Response Team found that the accident involved a Yamaha motorcycle and another bike with an unconfirmed registration number, believed to have been flung into the river.
'One victim is suspected to have fallen into the seawater channel, while three others were taken to the hospital before rescuers arrived,' the statement read.
Search operations were carried out within a 30-metre radius of the site, including three dives to a depth of 12 feet, but the missing victim has yet to be found.
The Yamaha motorcycle was successfully retrieved, and the operation was called off at 1.14 am. The case has been handed over to police for further action.
The operation involved 16 personnel from the Larkin and Skudai Fire and Rescue Stations, including members of the Water Rescue Team, supported by various rescue vehicles. — Bernama

Man found dead in ravine classified as murder
IPOH: Police confirmed that the man who was found dead in a ravine in Kampung Batu 23, Jalan Pahang near Tapah on Saturday died of injuries from being beaten by a blunt object. Tapah district police chief Supt Johari Yahya said it was based on the results of an autopsy at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics unit in Ipoh this morning. Campers mourn tapir mascot killed near MARDI Cherating Agrotech Park
KUANTAN: A male tapir, known as a natural mascot for campers at MARDI Cherating Agrotechnology Park, died after being hit by a vehicle along Jalan Kuantan-Kemaman. The incident occurred around 12.10 am when the animal was crossing the road and collided with a Perodua Alza. Acting Kuantan police chief Supt Mohd Adli Mat Daud confirmed the driver, a 41-year-old man, was unharmed. Authorities quickly secured the scene to manage traffic on the dimly lit road. The tapir's carcass, weighing over 120 kg, was handed to the Pahang Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan). Dead tapir a 'regular visitor' to Cherating Mardi agro park
KUANTAN: The male tapir that was killed in a collision with a vehicle on Jalan Kuantan-Kemaman here was a "mascot" for campers as it was frequently spotted at the Mardi Cherating Agrotechnology Park near here. Acting Kuantan police chief Supt Mohd Adli Mat Daud said the incident occurred at about 12.10am on Sunday (July 13) when the animal was struck by a car while attempting to cross the road. "The driver, a 41-year-old man, was unhurt," he said in a statement on Sunday. Police were dispatched to the scene to ensure traffic safety on the poorly lit stretch of road. Adli added that the tapir's carcass was handed over to the Pahang Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) for further action. Badrol Hisham Mohamad, 44, who was among the first at the scene, said he immediately alerted the police and Perhilitan. "Several motorists also stopped to help direct traffic as the carcass was lying in the middle of the road and posed a danger to others," said the Kampung Sungai Ular resident.
