Man nabbed in Kluang after performing lewd act in public
PETALING JAYA : A man has been arrested for behaving indecently in public in Kluang, Johor, on Wednesday, after a video of the incident went viral.
Kluang police chief Bahrin Noh said police launched an investigation upon receiving a report, and found that the incident took place in front of a supermarket on Jalan Batu 4 at 4.16pm.
He said the 55-year-old was arrested by the roadside at Jalan Besar Mersing at around 5pm yesterday.
Checks revealed that the man had a criminal record of two offences, although his urine test came back negative for drugs.
'The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code (outrage of decency), which carries a sentence of up to two years' imprisonment upon conviction,' Bernama reported Bahrin as saying today.
A 12-second video had gone viral on social media, showing a man performing a lewd act by the roadside while holding a mobile phone.

Jerantut police chief dies of heart attack at 59
JERANTUT: Jerantut district police chief Supt Zukri Muhammad died of a heart attack at his residence in Taman Saujana Utama today. Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman confirmed the 59-year-old officer was pronounced dead at approximately 3 pm. Zukri, who assumed his role as Jerantut district police chief in April last year, was set to retire next month. His remains will be buried at the Felda Krau Muslim Cemetery in Raub after Maghrib prayers.
