KUCHING (June 26): The Magistrates' Court here today placed a man and a woman on a six-month bond of RM400 each to keep the peace after they were involved in a quarrel over property boundary issues.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali made the order against Mustapha Noor Abdullah, 34, and Siti Nur Syahada Muliadi, 24, after they pleaded guilty under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Based on the facts of the case, Mustapha had scolded Siti and attempted to throw a flower pot at her during an incident, which occurred around 2pm on April 29, 2025, at Kampung Matang.
It was believed that Mustapha also threatened to destroy flower plants belonging to Siti and her family.
Fearing for her safety and that of her family, Siti lodged a police report, which led to Mustapha's arrest on June 23, 2025.
Investigations revealed that Mustapha acted aggressively after being prevented from erecting a fence near Siti's house due to an unresolved boundary issue between their properties.
The placement of Siti's flower plants was said to obstruct the path where Mustapha intended to construct the fence, leading to a dispute between the two parties.
To prevent a recurrence of the incident, the court ordered both individuals to execute a bond to keep the peace for six months.
The case was handled by ASP Arman Ibrahim, while Mustapha and Siti were not represented by lawyers. Kampung Matang peace bond property boundary

PKR Sabah shocked by new bribery video claims

Mustapha (seated, fourth from left) during the press conference. KOTA KINABALU (June 29): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah expressed shock over fresh allegations involving more state assemblymen in bribery-related videos. PKR Sabah chairman Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud was responding to a report by Malaysiakini, which claimed to possess videos and other evidence implicating five assemblymen from local parties and a former member of parliament in receiving bribes totaling nearly RM4 million. 'We were taken aback as we thought the previously released videos would be the end of it, especially since the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has already recorded statements from two of the assemblymen and the whistleblower,' said Mustapha at a press conference at the PKR Sabah office on Sunday. He added that the party is currently assessing the political impact of the scandal. 'This incident could potentially shift the landscape of political maneuvering in Sabah. Keadilan is ready for any possibility,' he said. Mustapha also called on all PKR branches to stay alert to ongoing developments and possible repercussions. Meanwhile, commenting on the recent 'Gempur Rasuah Sabah 2.0' anti-corruption rally, Mustapha — who is also the Deputy Higher Education Minister — urged organisers and participants to protest responsibly. He was referring to an incident where protestors burned a placard of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the rally. 'Although the Prime Minister has urged that the students involved not be expelled, I believe we should still send a message to the younger generation not to go overboard,' he said. 'I support youth voicing out on important issues like corruption — I did the same in my younger days. But let us not burn caricatures or symbols, because such acts are not part of Sabah's culture.'
