3 observations from Day 10 of New York Jets training camp
New York Jets 2025 NFL training camp is well underway and will be watched under a microscope each and every day. Throughout practices, updates are shared during the workouts which make for intriguing and important notes. In terms of Day 10 of training camp, what stood out the most? Here are three observations from the 10th day of Jets training camp: Back-to-back bad days from Fields The Jets offense has only had one day of training camp practices considered as a "good" outing through 10 workouts. The last two certainly were not that. Many reports indicated a few very, very poor sessions from quarterback Justin Fields specifically. On the plus side Breece Hall at least made a few players, according to reports. At least one we have a visual of. On one catch, it wasn't exactly a full diving effort, but Hall went all out to make the grab: Defense playing well While Fields and the offense have struggled, it might have been for good reason. The Jets defense had another top outing on Monday. Cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and Brandon Stephens are earning praise. Why the Packers' potential 'fireworks' makes them NFC North favorites
Yahoo Sports NFL analyst Nate Tice, fantasy analyst Matt Harmon and NFL writer Charles McDonald explain why they're high on Green Bay entering the 2025 season. Hear the full conversation on 'Football 301' - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript Matt, what's the thing that can make or break the Packers' season in your mind? Yeah, I think the receiver room coming together and Jordan Love being healthy over a full season. I think they did not want to be as run-heavy as they were last year, and I really think the talent of these guys, like guys can slot into the right roles. I also think that Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden kind of working in tandem together on the same side of the field. That's a lot of vertical stretch from Golden and horizontal stretch from Reed, that's gonna just put teams in conflict. So I think this passing game is gonna be awesome this year. Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I think there's gonna be some fireworks going on with this offense. Charles, what about you? What's the thing to make or break the Packers? Oh, well, I guess the secondary is probably gonna be pretty bad, so I think that's gonna put more emphasis on guys up front. Talk about Lucas Van Ness, he's a guy that is probably due for a pretty big year based on where he was drafted. Dafonte White is gonna get more burn this year. Rashawn Gary had a weird year last year where he had some games where he was pretty quiet, but we know at his best he's a really talented pass rusher. So I just think their front seven's really gonna have to take over this year to hide some of the deficiencies that they have on defense. But man, even saying that, the spine of this defense is really strong. If Kenny Clark comes back and he's playing good football, Xavier McKinney and Evan Williams are a really good safety duo, and those guys are coming back. So guys are gonna need to compensate for where they are at the cornerback room. I have them at over 9.5 wins at -120. I'm betting MGM. What about you, Matt? Over under 9.5 wins for the Packers. I'm over for sure. Charles, over. They were my #4 offense. I think they're gonna shred and just get enough on defense so they can close out some of these games. Charles, who do you think is gonna win the NFC? Got the Green Bay Packers, day shred them on offense. Matt, I'm right there with Chuck. Yeah, I'm gonna go Packers as well. Are we? OK, I'm also going Packers. I am also. I did it last year, and I'm gonna do it again, damn it. Close
