Lily Allen delights fans at Glastonbury with surprise performance with Shy FX

Lily Allen went from enjoying the entertainment at Glastonbury as a member of the public to performing on stage herself as she grabbed a mic to support dance act Shy FX
Lily Allen has shared her delight at being able to perform in front of fans at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. The 40-year-old singer was a surprise performer at the festival on Saturday night.
Lily had been sharing snaps and video clips from Worthy Farm as she embraced the fun and festivities of the annual event. And on Saturday night she switched from partygoer to performer as she picked up a mic to sing on stage.

She joined the DJ and producer Shy FX and belted out their 2018 track Roll The C. Lily donned a pair of sprakly hot pants and simple vest top as she danced and sang on stage.

The viewing crowd gleefully sang along and footage circulated on social media - which Lily herself re-posted. She uploaded a collection of highlights from her weekend on Instagram.
Uploading the content to her main grid, she wrote: "Much fun was had. Thank you @glastofest and @mercedesbenzuk for the lift!" Her sudden appearance meant Lily was on stage at the festival alongside huge stars including The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.
Sir Rod Stewart was also among the stars performing at the festival this year and previously shared his excitement about playing the festival. He will play the teatime Legend's Slot on Sunday - a titled that he isn't overly thrilled about.
He told the BBC: "I just wish they wouldn't call it the tea time slot. That sounds like pipe and slippers, doesn't it?" However, he went on to tease fans what to expect when he takes to the stage.
He said: "Usually I do well over two hours so there's still a load of songs we won't be able to do. But we've been working at it.

"I'm not gonna make any announcements between songs. I'll do one number, shout 'next', and go straight into the next one. I'm going to get in as many songs I can."
The singer explained that he usually plays for over two hours when he is on tour and that Glastonbury organisers initially offered him only 75 minutes for his slot - but he was able to negotiate this up to 90 minutes instead.

His performance was, however, hit with technical issues and he was forced to leave the stage at certain point to resolve the issues. Straight after entertaining with his rendition of Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, Rod told the crowd: "The girls are going to do a song for you while I change my shirt. "
The 2025 festival has been marred by controversy, however, as a relatively unknown band called Bob Vylan led crowds in a chant of "Death to the IDF". The sickening chant has led to the festival being compared to a Nazi rally as eager crowds egged on the suggestion of killing the only Jewish army in the world.
Further controversey was stoked when Irish band Kneecap - who have been slammed for urging fans to kill MPs and for supporting the terrorist organisations Hamas and Hezbollah who both plan to destroy the western world - also took to the stage. While the Kneecap performance was censored by the BBC, Bob Vylan's set streamed live on the BBC leading to political leaders to blast the festival for allowing dangerous rhetoric to air.
Addressing the backlash, a BBC spokesperson said: 'Some of the comments made during Bob Vylan's set were deeply offensive. During this live stream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage, a warning was issued on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language. We have no plans to make the performance available on demand.'

The beauty showcased her toned figure wearing a black and white-striped bikini top as well as matching bottoms. Scherzinger's long, dark locks were parted to the side and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in natural waves. The performer struck a variety of poses for the camera as she had a blast while waves crashed down around her at the tropical destination. At one point, Nicole also added a large hat on top of her head as the warm sun shone down on her. The star added text over the reel which read, 'POV: People born in 2000 are turning 25... and so am I.' And in the caption of the post, the songstress penned to her 7.1 million followers: '46 you were Golden!✨.' The Broadway performer was filmed sitting cross-legged near the shallow water as the sun began to set in the distance. The camera moved around behind Nicole to offer a scenic view of the orange sun setting far off in the horizon. 'Reflecting with deep gratitude as another year rises on the horizon,' she wrote. 'So grateful for every breath, for every sunrise and sunset. Thank you God for another year.' Along with enjoying a relaxing beach day, the beauty further celebrated her birthday with a group of pals inside what appeared to be a club. However, she still likes to branch out to try out other routines when it comes to fitness. 'I love doing everything from SoulCycle spinning and climbing to boxing and dance cardio. It's really good to always keep your body guessing and to always switch it up.' Scherzinger also dished on her diet, which includes intermittent fasting and having balance. 'If I have some frozen fruit laying around, I'll make an oat milk smoothie. Sometimes I'll put turmeric powder in it, which is delicious and anti-inflammatory.' While recently talking to People, Scherzinger recalled returning to the stage one day after her Tony win. 'I had never experienced anything like that in my life. It was absolutely incredible,' she expressed. The star added that the audience would often erupt into a standing ovation during the show. Following one song, Nicole said, 'I think it was, like, a three- or four-minute standing ovation. After a while, I was like, "This is embarrassing. You all need to sit down."' However, the singer explained that she was grateful for the moment and called it 'rewarding.' 'It was saved up over a lifetime, and it all happened in that moment, and it just richly, deeply filled my heart and my soul. It was beyond rewarding. I'll never forget it. Everything just felt on fire.' She continued, 'The cast was fired up, obviously, winning the Tony for best show, revival. I mean, that was huge. Everybody just felt the energy. 'It was a lot of work that we had put into it. It was beautiful. Everything was just on another level. It was vibrating and it was crazy. It was beyond electric.' Nicole is reportedly also in 'early talks' for a Las Vegas residency amid her Broadway success. A source told The Mirror this month, 'Nicole is achieving all her career dreams this year. 'She's conquered Broadway and won a well-deserved Tony, but Nicole has no plans to slow down her career, not when she's in her absolute prime and in such demand.' The residency - which has yet to be officically finalized - will be similar to her time at Carnegie Hall later this year in October, which includes a live band as she performs a blend of pop and Broadway tracks.

"I would say me and my dad now we're just more friends that kind of have an understanding of one another." Plato was well loved within the music scene during the 1970s, as part of the blues band Mungo Jerry. The band gained massive success after landing the Number 1 hit In The Summertime in 1970, with Pluto on the keyboard. Other hits from the band include Lady Rose and Alright, Alright, Alright. Plato contributed his incredible skills to the group while his brother Byron - who is Tulisa's uncle and Dappy's father - played the bass guitar. Chief Rabbi: Glastonbury controversy is "time of national shame"

The UK's Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis has described the BBC's handling of Bob Vylan's Glastonbury performance as a "time of national shame." Writing on X, Mirvis said: "The scenes of hateful rhetoric and glorification of violence seen at Glastonbury yesterday should be deeply disturbing for our entire society." He added: "The BBC's belated and mishandled response, brings confidence in our national broadcaster's ability to treat antisemitism seriously to a new low. "It should trouble all decent people that now, one need only couch their outright incitement to violence and hatred as edgy political commentary, for ordinary people to not only fail to see it for what it is, but also to cheer it, chant it and celebrate it." During Bob Vylan's performance, rapper Bobby Vylan chanted 'death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)'. It was announced on Monday, a police investigation into the incident is now underway. A police spokesman said: 'This has been recorded as a public order incident at this time while our inquiries are at an early stage. 'The investigation will be evidence-led and will closely consider all appropriate legislation, including relating to hate crimes. 'We have received a large amount of contact in relation to these events from people across the world and recognise the strength of public feeling. 'There is absolutely no place in society for hate.' The force said neighbourhood policing teams were speaking with people in their local communities and key stakeholders, which it hoped would reassure the public 'how seriously we are treating Saturday's events'. In a statement posted to Instagram after the Glastonbury set, Vylan said: 'Teaching our children to speak up for the change they want and need is the only way that we make this world a better place. 'As we grow older and our fire starts to possibly dim under the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities, it is incredibly important that we encourage and inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us.' They are due to perform at Radar Festival in Manchester on Saturday and Boardmasters, a surfing and music festival in Newquay, Cornwall, in August. Acknowledging they had received around 150 complaints about the broadcast of Bob Vylan's performance, broadcasting regulator Ofcom said the BBC "clearly has questions to answer." The BBC have acknowledged they "should have pulled" the livestream of Vylan's set which remained online for five hours.
