Trudeau and Perry were first spotted on Monday, July 28, having dinner at Le Violon, a high-end restaurant in Montreal. Sources said the two looked completely at ease, chatting over cocktails and a tasting menu that included lobster, lamb gnocchi, tuna, and tartare. Trudeau picked up the tab. The restaurant's co-owner and chef, Danny Smiles, told TMZ there was no flirting, no hand-holding, just two polite guests having a quiet evening. He was interviewed right after they left and said, 'he didn't get any dating vibes from Katy and Justin… just two friends enjoying a meal.' The two also stepped into the kitchen afterwards to thank the staff. Later that night, they were seen at Taverne Atlantic for drinks. Trudeau stood pretty close to Perry, one eyewitness claimed his hand was almost on her waist. Perry reportedly ordered a Crown Royal. Still, no PDA.

The very next day, TMZ dropped exclusive pictures of Perry and Trudeau out for a walk in Mount Royal Park. They strolled around for about an hour, just the two of them and Perry's dog, Nugget, and Trudeau couldn't stop smiling the entire time. Perry kept it casual in a white blouse, jeans, ballet flats, and a hat that partly hid her face. Trudeau matched the laid-back vibe in a T-shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a cap. After the walk, they made a quick stop at the Ritz-Carlton to drop off Nugget and change outfits before stepping out again, this time for their second dinner date. So far, neither of their reps has said a word about what's really going on.

Perry had just ended her nearly decade-long relationship with Orlando Bloom in June. The two got engaged four years ago and share a daughter, Daisy Dove. A joint statement confirmed the breakup and made it clear they're now focused on co-parenting. Perry and Orlando were also spotted vacationing together recently, proof they're still on good terms, no drama there. As for Trudeau, he announced his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire last year after 18 years of marriage. They have three kids, Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien. Trudeau shared the news on social media in August 2023, calling it a tough but respectful decision after 'many meaningful conversations,' and confirmed they remain close.

SP: Use of police force to stop PDA pathshalas won't work
1 2 Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said using police force to stop PDA pathshalas being organised by his party cadre will not work and asked the UP CM to visit these pathshalas for a first-hand stock of the ground realities. Akhilesh's reaction came in response to FIRs lodged against SP cadres for holding PDA pathshalas in UP villages where govt primary schools have been shut or paired by the UP govt. "PDA pathshala police se rukne wali nahi hai (Using police to stop PDA Pathshala will not work) Akhilesh said. SP volunteers will continue with the PDA pathshalas and tuitions until govt sends teachers to the schools that have been shut or paired, Akhilesh told reporters at Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow — where he paid floral tributes to the socialist leader on his birth anniversary on Tuesday. Earlier SP chief had accused govt of closing 26,012 govt primary schools and pairing another 5,000 schools. He described it as a design to deprive the PDA community of their right to education. He had called retired teachers and graduate volunteers from among SP cadres to hold PDA pathshalas in villages where schools have been closed. Recently FIRs were lodged against some individuals running PDA pathshalas for illegally entering closed school campuses. He said govt has already accepted that schools have been shut and paired and thereby have accepted that their decision was wrong. He said if govt was reconsidering to recall its earlier decision, then all primary schools that have been shut, must be reopened. 'BJP netas have encroached wetlands' Lucknow: Accusing BJP functionaries of having usurped ponds in every UP district, Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said govt can conduct a verification of land registries to confirm his charge. "They (BJP netas) have not spared a single pond. All wetlands have been usurped by them. Anyone can get the land registry documents from Ayodhya, Varanasi and Lucknow and verify this, he said. He said BJP has machines to print fake voter identity and Aadhaar cards and cited an incident that happened in Gursahaiganj during the elections for chairman of town area. "The BJP men connived with the police and the district magistrate to set up a machine to print fake Aadhaar cards. When they were intercepted, they fled leaving behind stacks of fake Aadhaar cards. Some of them are with us even till date," Akhilesh said.

Teddi Mellencamp addresses affair rumours, reflects on stage 4 cancer as possible 'payback'
Teddi Mellencamp, a former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has spoken out about her long-rumored relationship with horse trainer Simon Schroeder. For the first time, she talked emotionally on the Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, acknowledging that she caused pain and asking whether her stage 4 melanoma cancer is "payback" for her actions. Simon Schroeder and Teddi Mellencamp's affair According to TMZ, the 44-year-old Mellencamp acknowledged that she hurt people during that time, but she declined to publicly acknowledge the affair out of respect for her kids' privacy. 'Did I do things that hurt people? Yes,' she answered. She talked about how her heart has been troubled by feelings of guilt. Then, in a shocking acceptance, she asked whether her cancer diagnosis was a kind of karmic payback. 'To this day… I wonder if that's why I got cancer? Yes, like it was my payback,' she stated. Mellencamp talked about how she was physically and emotionally broken at the time, experiencing severe headaches and turning to unhealthy means of comfort. She made it clear that she does not blame her illness but rather acknowledges that she was left powerless by several tragedies that struck her all at once. Timeline of Teddi Mellencamp and Simon Schroeder's affair Mellencamp previously filed for divorce from Edwin Arroyave in November 2024, following a 13-year marriage. Karli, Schroeder's own wife, also filed for divorce a few days later. When Teddi revealed her cancer diagnosis this year, Arroyave briefly put the divorce on hold despite the chaos. He was commended by Mellencamp for his constant backing during her health battle. She considered how her actions harmed not just herself and Edwin but also their children and even Schroeder's family during the podcast. She remarked, "So many people are hurt in the wreckage." 'The wreckage doesn't happen on its own.' She expressed deep sorrow while highlighting her wish to maintain relationships for her kids' benefit.

Mexico set to discuss US tariffs with Canada as ministers visit
Mexican Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard said he is set to speak with Canada's finance minister, who is visiting Mexico City, later on Tuesday about the two countries' experiences in dealing with tariffs imposed on goods shipped to the United States. 'They want to know how Mexico is getting these results,' Ebrard told journalists. Mexico was able to avoid 30% tariffs on its shipments to the US set to come into force last week, securing a 90-day pause to work on a trade deal with the government of US President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Trump slapped a 35% duty on many goods coming from Canada, hiking the rate from a 25% fentanyl-related tariff imposed earlier this year. 'We're going to exchange experiences,' Ebrard said. 'They're paying a 35% tariff, and Mexico isn't.' Mexico is still subject to the previously imposed 25% fentanyl tariffs, though goods sent under the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement – which are most of them – are exempt. Trump has said the US would continue to levy a 50% tariff on Mexican steel, aluminum and copper and a 25% tariff on Mexican autos and on the non-USMCA-compliant goods. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum met with the Canadian finance minister, Francois-Philippe Champagne, as well as Foreign Minister Anita Anand, earlier in the day at Mexico's national palace. 'We're strengthening the relationship between our countries,' she said in a post on X.
