DOHA: The second edition of the Indian Mango Festival (Hamba Exhibition) has been inaugurated at the Souq Waqif.
Director of the Technical Affairs Department at the Private Engineering Office Abdulrahman Zayed Al Nuaimi inaugurated the festival in the presence of Ambassador of the Republic of India HE Vipul, and a number of ambassadors.

Tribune News Network Doha The Embassy of India, in collaboration with Souq Waqif and Indian Business & Professionals Council, successfully organised the second edition of the Indian Mango Festival from June 12– 21, 2025 in Doha. The 10-day cultural and commercial celebration of India's 'King of Fruits' showcased the rich diversity and flavor of Indian mangoes, drawing an enthusiastic response from the local and international visitors alike. The festival featured around 50 varieties of mangoes, including the famed Alphonso, Dasheri, Langra, Kesar, Rajapuri, Malgova, Neelam, Badami, Imam Pasand, Kalapadi, Totapuri, Chakkarakkutti, Sindoori, and Mallika, among others. Alongside fresh fruits, visitors indulged in a delectable range of mango-based sweets and savories like cakes, sweets, ice creams, pickles, juices, and other dishes, showcasing the versatility of the fruit in Indian culinary traditions. Over 150,000 visitors belonging to over 60 nationalities attended the festival, underscoring the popularity of Indian mangoes and the deep cultural appreciation shared between India, Qatar and other countries. A total of 130,000 kilograms of mangoes were sold, while the combined sales of mangoes and mango products exceeded 160,000 kilograms—a testimony to the fruit's universal appeal. The event brought together 31 Indian companies, reflecting the growing strength of India-Qatar economic ties, especially in the agro-produce sector. The festival served not only as a platform for trade and promotion of Indian produce but also as a vibrant celebration of India's cultural heritage and agricultural excellence. In addition to the mango showcase, the festival included a variety of interactive activities such as quizzes and competitions, engaging families and children and adding a festive flavor to the marketplace. The Embassy of India expresses its sincere appreciation to the authorities of Souq Waqif and the Private Engineering Office for their productive collaboration in successfully organising the second edition of the Indian Mango Festival.

Tribune News Network Doha The second edition of the Indian Mango Festival, also known locally as the Hamba Exhibition, was inaugurated yesterday at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif in Doha. The inauguration ceremony was graced by HE Vipul, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, along with other ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials from the Committee of the Private Engineering Office, and numerous mango enthusiasts. Organised by Souq Waqif in collaboration with the Embassy of India, this vibrant 10-day festival runs until June 21, 2025, celebrating the rich variety and unparalleled flavours of Indian mangoes and mango-based products. The festival offers visitors the opportunity to experience and purchase a wide selection of India's most celebrated mango varieties, such as Dusehri, Langra, Alphonso, Kesar, Hapus, Neelam, Rajapuri, Malgova, Badami and many more. These mangoes, renowned for their distinct tastes, textures and aromas, have long been prized by fruit lovers around the world. In addition to fresh mangoes, the festival features an enticing range of mango-based products, including juices, ice creams, pickles, sweets and traditional delicacies, reflecting the culinary diversity of Indian cuisine. A notable highlight of the event is the participation of around 35 Indian importers, restaurantsand cafés, occupying approximately 95 stalls—each showcasing regional specialties and mango innovations. The festival is open to the public daily from 4 pm to 9 pm, and until 10 pm on weekends, offering a unique platform for cultural exchange and an immersive taste of India's agricultural richness. The Indian Embassy has warmly invited everyone to attend and enjoy this culinary spectacle.
