Cameron Brink is finally ready to return. The Los Angeles Sparks forward, who was the No. 2 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, said she plans to play in Tuesday's game against the Las Vegas Aces.
This will be her first game after being away for over a year. Brink had suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in her left knee on June 19, 2024, during a game against the Connecticut Sun.

'It means the world,'
Brink said.
'I'm very excited, very humbled by this experience.'
The injury happened just 15 games into her rookie season, where she showed strong signs of being a top defender. She had averaged 2.3 blocks, 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game in just 22 minutes per game before she got hurt.
Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts told Davis that she just wants Brink to enjoy the moment. 'Just be in the moment,' Roberts said.

Lynne Roberts says Cameron Brink will return stronger after ACL injury
During the 2025 WNBA Draft in April, ESPN's Holly Rowe reported that Brink could be back before the All-Star break, which happened earlier this July. Though that didn't happen, Cameron Brink had already started working on drills earlier in the summer and kept improving.

Roberts believes this long break will make her even better.
'It sucks that you have to go through it,' she said.

Cameron Brink's comeback is perfectly timed. At 11-14, the Sparks are now league tenth. Brink could provide them with the lift the squad needs as they strive for a playoff spot in the second half of the season.

Steph Curry says NBA players are 'underpaid' amid Micah Parsons-Cowboys trade buzz

WNBA players recently took a massive step towards pay parity by wearing t-shirts reading 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' during All-Star weekend ahead of the July 19 game. Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry has now chimed in on the debate during a recent appearance on the '360 with Speedy' podcast, where he suggested that NBA players' salaries are not in line with the value they add to the team. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry listens during a news conference(AP) Stephen Curry pitches better salaries for the NBA Curry is set to take home $59.6 million in salary this season, as reported by beIN SPORTS. However, he still feels the figure falls short of the value he and many other underpaid players add to their respective teams. "I think, because of the way the CBA is structured right now, we can't participate in equity. And that's a big deal because it is a partnership with ownership. It's a partnership with the league, and we're on the short term of the revenue,' Curry said on the podcast. He then went on to explain his point by adding, 'Those (contract) numbers sound crazy, but what the league is doing, from whatever era you want to compare it to, to now, is probably 10x that. The idea that we can't participate in equity while we're playing is part of why I would say yes, we are underpaid, because we want to be able to participate in that rise.' 'Hopefully, sooner than later, those rules change a little bit so that players can participate in the upside of team equity, the league, valuations, and all that type of stuff. Just because I think we deserve it.' Where do NBA players stand in the athletes' pay ranks? When asked by host Speedy Morman if online figures suggesting his net worth stood at $240 million were true, he swiftly changed the topic by saying that he wasn't sure and didn't care about it. Although Forbes counts NBA players as some of the highest-earning athletes, Curry still feels there is room for improvement and believes that players' salaries haven't increased at the same pace as the league and teams' evaluations have over the years. Given the existing discourse on paying WNBA players at the same level as their male counterparts, Curry's views add a new dimension to this debate. Posted by Stuti Gupta

Caitlin Clark injury row: Fever star's return date revealed in latest update ahead of away run

The 23-year-old's latest injury came in Fever's win over the Connecticut Sun on July 15. While the team does not have an official return date, the latest update indicated that she could be back soon. Indiana said that Clark 'underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered'. The team added that Cailin Clark will 'continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being'. The positive update comes as Indiana are battling a series of tough road games. After Dallas, they will play the Seattle Storm, Los Angeles Sparks and Phoenix Mercury. Caitlin Clark opens up on injury concerns Clark recently spoke about her injuries this season. 'This is the first time I haven't felt like a young body that can run around and sprint every day and just continue to do that. Being a professional athlete, you really have to take care of both your body and your mind -- it's been a journey learning about that,' she told Glamour over All-Star weekend. Ahead of the Dallas Wings game, the Fever was in sixth place with a two-game advantage on the ninth-place Washington Mystics. They will be hoping to get Clark on the court.
