But perhaps the highest honour has just been revealed by the Wall Street Journal, which reports that audio of the central couple screaming at one another has been judged so upsetting it is now being used to deter wolves from attacking livestock.
'I need the wolves to respond and know that, hey, humans are bad,' a US Department of Agriculture district supervisor in Oregon told the WSJ. His teams employ 'drone cowhands, whose quadcopters have thermal cameras that can reveal any wolf lurking in the darkness'. The predator is then spotlit and treated to audio blasted over a loudspeaker. Aside from Baumbach-scripted acid insults, tracks include fireworks, gunshots and AC/DC's Thunderstruck.
The practice is know as 'wolf hazing' and is employed rather than culling as grey wolves are on the federal government's list of endangered species.
Happily, Driver and Johansson's Academy Award-nominated performances have proved just as impactful for canines as humans.
'Drones were deployed in the Klamath Basin of southern Oregon after 11 cows were killed by wolves there in a 20-day period,' reports the WSJ. 'Over the next 85 days, when drones were on patrol, only two were killed.'
Other emotionally volatile high-points in the 2019 film include Driver's feeling rendition of Steven Sondheim's Being Alive and Dern's caustic broadside about the double standards by which mothers and fathers are judged (which found an echo in America Ferrera's speech in the 2023 film Barbie, which was also co-written by Baumbach). It is not believed either of these moments are also being broadcast to pests.
Marriage Story premiered at the Venice film festival in 2019 and was named on many critics' best of the year lists, coming second on the Guardian's year-end roundup.
In his five star review of the film, Peter Bradshaw singled out the 'central rage-filled confrontation' for praise. 'This does feel theatrical,' he wrote, 'but in such a lucid and intelligent way.'

Dave Portnoy is no stranger to partnering with athletes for Barstool Sports podcasts, but he recently turned down the chance to work with Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham. Cunningham, who has seen her fame skyrocket after teaming up with Caitlin Clark, recently announced a new podcast alongside Complex producer and 'Summer House' reality star West Wilson. And while Portnoy had the pair record a test episode for his company, the show ultimately landed at Colin Cowherd's 'The Volume' network after the Barstool boss felt his business was 'getting screwed' in negotiations. 'It wasn't so much her, any time I have to deal with agents, it's hard,' he revealed on 'The Unnamed Show.' 'I really thought we would be carrying so much of the weight, marketing, all this s***, and her focus wasn't going to be the podcast. It was just one amongst 9,000 things she was doing. And so it felt like we were getting screwed.' Portnoy added that the deal was nearly signed before he ultimately walked away. Shannen Doherty 's private estate is selling her Malibu mansion a year after she died from cancer. The impressive coastal property with views of the Pacific Ocean is being offered at $9,450,000. According to TMZ, the Charmed actress had this house for about 20 years before she passed away in July 2024. The home - which is being represented by Chris Cortazzo of Compass - is roomy with 5,400 square feet. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms. And there is a rectangular swimming pool surrounded by a lush lawn and diverse landscaping with mature trees. There was also plenty of privacy on the property which is located up the hill from the beach. It was remodeled after the 2018 Woolsey Fire even though it did not get damaged, it only suffered from the smoke. Doherty's name was in the press in April when her birthday came around. Her close friend Sarah Michelle Gellar celebrated Doherty's birthday by revealing their yearly 'tradition.' The TV star passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 53, following a battle with breast cancer that had spread to her brain and bones. And on what would have been Shannen's 54th birthday, Sarah Michelle revealed the pair always had a joint celebration as the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star's birthday is two days later. Alongside a picture and video of Shannen from their final celebration last year, Sarah Michelle shared on Instagram: 'For as long as I can remember, we have celebrated our birthdays together @theshando. 'This year I will keep that tradition, and celebrate you. I am so glad we were all together on this day last year, not knowing it would be the last like this. Happy Birthday Shannen.'
