Body of missing 23-year-old fisherman recovered from Sacramento River
(FOX40.COM) — A fisherman who went missing in the Sacramento River was found dead Tuesday evening, according to the Yolo County Sheriff's Office.
Around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, several local emergency agencies, including YCSO, the Sacramento Fire Department and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, responded to the Sacramento River near the 2000 block of Garden Highway for reports of a water rescue. Witnesses said a fisherman went into the water and did not resurface. He was reportedly 'fishing with his buddies.'

His body was recovered around 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
'It is with great sadness that we share the recovery of the body of the 23-year-old fisherman who went missing in the Sacramento River on the afternoon of May 19,' YCSO said on social media. 'Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.'.

Train, pickup truck collide in southern Sacramento County
A Union Pacific train crashed into a loaded trailer attached to a pickup truck Friday afternoon in southern Sacramento County, officials said. This incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Desmond Road and Franklin Boulevard in Walnut Grove. Man who admitted to killing Sacramento police officer in 2019 receives death penalty sentence
Adel Ramos was given a death penalty sentence for the killing of Sacramento police officer Tara O'Sullivan in June 2019, the Sacramento County District Attorney said on Friday. O'Sullivan, 26, died when she was shot while on a domestic disturbance call after being on the job for six months. Ramos, who had a history with law enforcement, was arrested after an hours-long standoff and later admitted to killing O'Sullivan. His case was delayed several times, including when he apparently injured himself in his jail cell. But in late March, a jury returned a death penalty verdict against Ramos.
