Man accused of raping woman in woods may have more victims
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Yamhill County officials are asking the public for information as they believe a man facing charges for sexual assault may have other victims. According to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, deputies initially began investigating on Wednesday after a sexual assault was reported having occurred in the Nestucca River Recreation Forest. Local volunteer accused of raping, blackmailing teen girl Officials learned the victim had been walking along a road near Willamina and accepted a ride from Cory Ryan Williams and a female passenger. According to YCSO, the victim was taken to a wooded area and sexually assaulted by Williams. Officials said the female passenger was not present during the alleged incident. The day after the reported assault, deputies said they learned Williams was hiding out in the Nestucca River Recreation Forest and 'attempting to leave the area discreetly.' He was booked into the Yamhill County Correctional Facility on charges of first-degree rape and menacing. Authorities said they also executed several search warrants as a part of the investigation into Williams. Deputies seize nearly 7,000 marijuana plants in Northern California drug bust
( — Nearly 7,000 illegal marijuana plants were recently seized during a Northern California drug bust. The Yuba County Sheriff's Office said it partnered with the regional SWAT team and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to execute multiple search warrants in the Brownsville and Dobbins areas last week. 'While the primary focus was finding illegal marijuana cultivation, investigators quicklyuncovered additional criminal activity, including the possession of an illegal firearm,illegal fumigant pesticides, and multiple water code violations,' YCSO said. Investigators arrested a 34-year-old man near Pine Ridge Drive in Brownsville, anda 61-year-old man near Sun Forest Court in Dobbins. Body of missing 23-year-old fisherman recovered from Sacramento River
( — A fisherman who went missing in the Sacramento River was found dead Tuesday evening, according to the Yolo County Sheriff's Office. Around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, several local emergency agencies, including YCSO, the Sacramento Fire Department and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, responded to the Sacramento River near the 2000 block of Garden Highway for reports of a water rescue. Witnesses said a fisherman went into the water and did not resurface. He was reportedly 'fishing with his buddies.' FAA investigates plane crash leaving two injured near Yuba County Airport
( — Federal Aviation Administration officials are investigating a small plane crash in Yuba County on Saturday morning. According to the FAA, a North American T-2B that had two people on board crashed near the Yuba County Airport in Marysville at around 10:22 a.m. The Yuba County Sheriff's Office received a report of a private aircraft that had executed an emergency landing in the area of Feather River Boulevard and Curtis Road. YCSO stated that even though the aircraft landed without striking any objects on the ground, it sustained significant damage upon landing. Both of the occupants who were on board have been transported to a local hospital with injuries reported to be minor to moderate. Sheriff's office recovers vehicle from water after crash
