Ex-Orlando Pirates star risks it all for Kaizer Chiefs

Thabiso Monyane has made the move from Orlando Pirates to Kaizer Chiefs. Is it a good one for his career?
Monyane spent 13 years with the Buccaneers but fell down the pecking order in the right-back position.
The 25-year-old leaves after a decorated spell for a different type of project.
Best Kaizer Chiefs XI next season revealed?
Thabiso Monyane sounds positive about his new Soweto chapter with Kaizer Chiefs. Only time will tell whether he's made the right move in terms of trophy success, but he'll certainly get more game time after becoming a fringe player behind Deano van Rooyen and Thabiso Lebitso at Pirates.
'I've been received well by the technical team, the players and the staff, arriving from the other side of Soweto. 'It has been a breath of fresh air, and I am embracing a new culture.'

Will Monyane's move to Chiefs be a successful one for the club and player?

'Rich Hilton College parents': TikToker mocks SA's most expensive school

A popular schoolboy rugby TikTok account has mocked the parents of Hilton College, who recently came under fire over their 'flashy' display of wealth at a recent derby day. The KwaZulu-Natal boarding school is the most expensive school in South Africa, with an annual tuition of close to half a million rand. On TikTok, the popular fitness and schoolboy rugby account @adafitfans took a jab at Hilton College's recent headlines. The account posted an AI-generated skit of parents of the most expensive school bragging about splurging cash on designer tents, helicopters, and even comparing themselves to the Springboks. This included hiring five-star hosting and catering services that showcased lavish displays of food like sushi, biltong, and couture cakes. The principal also criticised the parents for not cleaning up after the events. He wrote: 'When hospitality and generosity became self-serving displays of opulence, and began to pull away from what we aspire to be as a community. The principal added: 'Next year, can we ditch the opulence in favour of a wholesome hospitality devoid of showmanship and loud extravagance?. 'When the extravagance stretches into overconsumption, the message we send to our children is wrong'. Hilton College came under fire over its recent rugby derby day. Kobamelo Kodisang leaves Sundowns, returns to Portugal!

Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Kobamelo Kodisang has returned to Portugal on a season-long loan deal. Kodisang has officially signed for Portuguese Premier League outfit AVS Futebol SAD. The dimunitive winger had been touted to leave Sundowns after it became evident that he was not part of Miguel Cardoso's plans. Plans to permanently offload Kodisang hit a snag as he still had four years remaining on his deal with Sundowns. The Bafana Bafana international had joined Sundowns on a five-year deal but he failed to be a regular at the club. And the best way Sundowns could smoothly deal with his departure was through a loan deal. However, both Sundowns and AVS Futebol SAD reached an agreement to include an option to purchase on Kodisang's deal. The 25-year-old winger leaves Sundowns having only featured 13 times for them, scoring twice and registering two assists. Mamelodi Sundowns unveiled Kobamelo Kodisang in July 2024. The PROS and CONS of Relebohile Mofokeng staying for another season

Before the end of last season, Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng was already tipped for a move to Europe. With just over a week until the MTN8 competition resumes, the 20-year-old is still with the Buccaneers. He recently toured with the team to Spain for their pre-season training, where he scored two goals in four matches. With eyes on him this transfer period, it was his teammate Mohau Nkota who left the club to join Saudi side Ettifaq. There were rumours that Relebohile Mofokeng could join his former teammate, but nothing has yet materialised. The speedy winger had a good season with Pirates and even earned a few caps for Bafana Bafana in the process. The Pros If Rele stays another season, he can always leave in January. With Bafana Bafana set to play in the Africa Cup of Nations, the youngster will have a chance to showcase his potential. A good Afcon will attract interest from top teams in Europe, making him not only South Africa's biggest player but Africa's valuable star. Another six months can shape him as a better player and increase his price tag from R30 to R100 million. A European move is still on the cards, and if he maintains his form, he will play in the top five leagues, no doubt. The Cons At this moment, Mofokeng is enjoying his football and is eager to leave. If he stays, he might feel demotivated and with Oswin Appollis playing in his position, he will likely switch to the right. Having played mostly on the left, a new role might not suit him well. Another thing that can derail him is injury. Relebohile Mofokeng has never suffered a serious injury but if that happens, he might miss the Afcon and that could have an effect on him. His season could be disrupted by him failing to move, injury, playing out of position etc. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
