What's Happening According to Deadline, the film has earned $56.5 million in North America and another $40 million from international markets across 78 countries. In India, the superhero film has impacted the performance of local releases like Kannappa and Rajkummar Rao's Maalik. By the end of Sunday, Superman is expected to cross $210 million globally, boosted by strong reviews and buzz. Variety reports that the film now holds the second-biggest global opening of 2025 so far, behind A Minecraft Movie ($57.11 million) and slightly ahead of Lilo & Stitch ($55.94 million). Internationally, the film opened in the UK with $3.6 million on Friday, capturing a 66% market share. Performance in Asia was comparatively soft, with Korea underperforming and China collecting $2.4 million by Friday. The final China tally is expected to be around $11 million. Brazil, Australia, and France each brought in between $2.5 and $3 million. Spain surprised with a $1 million debut, and Japan earned $781K despite the competing buzz around the new Demon Slayer. Mexico led international territories with $3.8 million. Background In India, Superman earned Rs 8 crore on Day 1 and added Rs 9 crore on Day 2, bringing its two-day total to Rs 17 crore. This makes it the third-biggest DC debut in India. Meanwhile, the Telugu film Kannappa, featuring Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Mohanlal, opened at Rs 9.35 crore but dropped steeply in its second week. The film's collection fell by 92%, with its lifetime net reaching just Rs 32.6 crore. With an estimated budget of Rs 200 crore, it has recovered only 16%, making it one of the year's biggest flops. Rajkummar Rao's Maalik also trailed behind Superman, collecting Rs 3.75 crore on Day 1 and Rs 5.25 crore on Day 2. F1: The Movie continues to surprise with its strong run. The film has collected Rs 75 crore in 15 days and is expected to enter the Rs 100 crore club, a feat achieved only by Oppenheimer and Avatar among Hollywood releases in India. On the other hand, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, starring Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey, is struggling at the box office. It earned Rs 43 lakh on its second day, with the two-day total at just Rs 73 lakh.

Gen Z need not feel special about modern relationship drama because singles in their 50s are being breadcrumbed, ghosted too. And what's worse, lovebombed into co-parenting kids they didn't raise. Since most midlifers have about two divorces under their belt, they are wandering around the prison of romance pool like hardened criminals. They are swiping and scandalising on dating apps and not even sharing it on social media. Way to rob the masses of juicy lore. 'Father of two, taking a last chance at love,' read the dramatic bios. They don't have time to hold back. Many on Hinge answer the prompt, 'We'll get along if…' not with shared interests but with a list of everything their ex did wrong — 'if you don't scream in traffic, hoard clocks, or snack in bed.' The emotional baggage is bullet-pointed. They might not even have finalised the divorce yet. Putting up selfies taken in the bathroom of their marital homes, they ask their matches not to judge. Statistically, the elders are having more fun online than the people who invented sexting. Beyond the usual Bumble, Hinge, Tinder, and OKCupid, they are also populating the unconventional mating spaces. Think the ethical non-monogamy hotbed of the Feeld app or closed groups on Facebook, catering to all kinds of adventures under the kink umbrella. Sentient armrests Post-50s could almost be a golden age of dating — if middle-aged men weren't doing their best to ruin the fun. Women who refused to resign to the empty-nesters' club find themselves on dates where men rant about their children's spending habits. Lost without the safety of a serving wife, men are hunting for her replacement. 'I am looking for a nurturer,' they'll say, meaning someone to wash their dirty laundry. Jennie Young, a professor of English and Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, studied the 'rhetoric of dating' and explained how these men approach women. Malayalam rapper Vedan to make Tamil debut in Vijay Milton's upcoming film
Malayalam rapper and songwriter Hirandas Murali, popularly known as Vedan, is set to make his Tamil cinema debut in director Vijay Milton's upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual, tentatively titled Production No. 5. The film, produced by Rough Note Production, features Telugu actor Raj Tarun in the lead, marking his first musical appearance in Tamil cinema. Vedan, known for his politically charged and socially conscious music, rose to prominence with his debut track Voice of the Voiceless in 2020. His work often addresses issues of caste, class, and marginalisation, and he has become a notable voice in Malayalam independent music. In 2024, his song Kuthanthram from Manjummel Boys brought him mainstream recognition, accumulating over 50 million streams.
