From Walford to the wilderness! EastEnders' Shona McGarty could be heading down under for her next big adventure.
Shona was on our screens for 16 years playing the iconic Whitney Dean, the troubled teen of Albert Square, who we watched grow up through the show.
Now, the 33-year-old is reportedly in discussions to swap soap life for jungle life on I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Fans were shocked when it was announced in 2023 that we would be losing Shona from our screens as the actress admitted she needed a change, having played the same character since she was a teenager.
Her departure marked the end of an era for viewers who had watched Whitney grow and evolve through some of the show's most hard-hitting storylines.
Since her departure, Shona has showcased her other talents performing at charity events and is set to make her West End debut as a leading lady in Betty Page: Queen of Pin-Ups- The Musical on June 9th 2025.
It's rumoured that Shona is keen to challenge herself and take part in the iconic ITV reality show set in the Australian jungle.

Although she has previously expressed interest in appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, it seems the jungle may come calling first as according to The Sun, the soap legend is in 'advanced talks' to join the ITV reality series.
Metro has contacted Shona's representatives for a comment.
Do you think Shona could win the Jungle? Absolutely
Hmm...not sure
The actress would follow in the footsteps of fellow EastEnders alumni such as Jacqueline Jossa and Charlie Brooks, who both went on to win the show, no pressure, Shona!
ITV has not confirmed any contestants just yet, sticking to its usual policy of keeping line-ups under wraps until closer to the air date.
But with negotiations reportedly ongoing, fans will speculate whether Shona's Albert Square antics could have prepared her for bushtucker trials and jungle life!

TV copper Pc Reg Hollis helps real-life colleagues arrest shoplifter

Actor Jeff Stewart, who played Pc Hollis for 24 years in ITV series The Bill, jumped into action by sitting on the suspect's legs, after he fell from the bike, while officers handcuffed him, in the incident in Southampton, Hampshire, on Wednesday. Mohamed Diallo, 29, of Anglesea Road, Southampton, was charged with five offences of theft, to which he pleaded guilty, at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Thursday. He was bailed to be sentenced on August 29. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: 'In policing you should always expect the unexpected, but this really wasn't on The Bill for this week. 'Officers making an arrest in Southampton were aided by none other than TV's Pc Reg Hollis during an incident on Wednesday 23 July. 'The officers, from Bargate Neighbourhoods Policing Team, were in the city in the afternoon when they were alerted by staff at Co-op in Ocean Way to a suspected shoplifter, who attempted to make good his escape on a bicycle. 'The thief, 29-year-old Mohamed Diallo, fell off the bike during his attempts to flee, before officers pounced to make their arrest. 'To their surprise, local TV legend Jeff Stewart, who played Pc Hollis for 24 years in The Bill, came to their aid by sitting on the suspect's legs while officers put him in cuffs. 'Long since retired from Sun Hill station – but he's still got it.' Diallo was convicted of the theft of £17.25 worth of coffee from Co-op in Ocean Way on July 23, theft of £69.90 worth of coffee and food items on July 17, and £54.50 of alcohol and coffee from the same shop on July 14. He also admitted stealing £80 of wine from Sainsbury's in Bedford Place on July 14 and £63 worth of alcohol from Sainsbury's in Redcar Street on April 22.

EastEnders' Kat tears into Alfie as she has a theory about who he's helping

A lot has changed since EastEnders' Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) left Walford in search of Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) last month, not least his wife Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) buying the Queen Vic. But if he thinks she's about to roll the red carpet out for his return, he might want to think again. Next week's episodes will see Alfie finally come home after his secret trip, and it's not long before Kat is tearing into him for lying about where he has been. As fans of the BBC soap will remember, last month saw Kat's estranged daughter Zoe make a sudden and unexpected reappearance after 20 years. But shortly after she was reunited with cousin Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and step-dad Alfie, she made a run for it with Alfie soon heading off to Spain to track her down. With Kat in the dark about Zoe's reappearance, Alfie lied to her and told her he was spending time with his brother Spencer Moon (Christopher Parker) in Australia. When Kat later found out he wasn't really in Australia, Stacey had to cover for him, lying that Alfie had another cancer scare and was away clearing his head. Top Gear host slams Jeremy Clarkson as a 'massive show-off and egotist'

A former Top Gear host has admitted he "never got along" with Jeremy Clarkson while working alongside him on the hit BBC motoring show A former Top Gear presenter has confessed that he "never got along" with Jeremy Clarkson. The BBC motoring show has since come to an end after a serious on set crash involving Freddie Flintoff, who had been co-hosting the series with Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris. ‌ Prior to that era, Top Gear was famously fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - a trio that proved hugely popular with viewers. Now, former presenter Steve Berry has shared his true thoughts on Jeremy. ‌ The motoring journalist described Jeremy as a "massive show-offs and egotist" but notes that was what made him appealing to the show's producers, the Mirror reports. Steve made the comments during an interview on Al Arabiya News. ‌ "The first shoot that I went along on was presented by a certain Mr. Jeremy Clarkson. And I'll never forget this, he turned up two hours late. I turned up half an hour early because I wanted to impress." "He turned up to hours late and the crew were fuming. Absolutely fuming, I thought. Right, make a point, don't do that because you want the crew on your side," he recalled. Steve also shared what Jeremy was actually like behind the scenes, describing him as a "less bombastic version of that person that you see on the screen." He stated: "So in real life, Jeremy is a less bombastic version of that person that you see on the screen. You couldn't act that persona for all the years that he has." ‌ "He is kind of like that, and like I said, even though he and I never really got on together, the last time I met him in person, there was a bar, it was at a car show and there was an open bar and he said, Barry, people know we don't like each other, I'll buy you a pint and we'll stand over there pretending we like each other." Now, Jeremy runs a successful farm in the Cotswolds as well along with a pub called The Farmer's Dog, which specialises in selling local produce. His colleagues on the Oxfordshire farm have spoken more positively about it, offering praise for their boss. The anonymous worker told the Oxford Mail: "I've been working here well over a year and I do enjoy it to be honest, because you meet completely different people from all over the world and all around the UK." "Jeremy and Kaleb come up every now and then and chat with us and check that we're alright. Jeremy is just really funny, but he takes things seriously if we struggle with anything, which is nice, but he is just really funny and makes us feel comfortable."
