Rahul Gandhi leads protest march during Chakka Jam in Patna
Accompanied by the leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, national general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) CPI(ML), Deepankar Bhattacharya and leaders of CPI, CPM and VIP, Rahul took out the protest march from the Income Tax roundabout to the Election Commission office in the state capital.
Rahul arrived in Patna and joined the protest at Income Tax Golambar. Since early morning, GA leaders gathered at the spot and shouted slogans and protested. The GA leaders reiterated their demand to immediately stop the ongoing voter list revision.
Meanwhile, private schools closed their institutions as a precautionary measure. Shops were shut already while other business installations were closed due to the agitation in the state capital.
The agitation affected normal life in capital Patna and across various districts, including Ara, Jehanabad, Darbhanga, Munger and Araria. Protesters have blocked roads, halted trains, and staged demonstrations at various places.

GA supporters took to the streets, shouting anti-government slogans, staging road blockades, and completely halting vehicular movement in the district. Police said Naik was charged in two murder cases registered in the state. The recent murder case was registered at LB Nagar PS in 2022 and, following the reorganisation of police stations, it is currently with Nagole PS. 'An MRPS activist, Bhanu Chander, was bludgeoned to death in an open area near Motkur in 2022 by the followers of Naik. Five persons were named accused and Naik was accused number two. The case is pending trial,' Nagole inspector A Surya Nayak said. The second was also murder case in 2007 in erstwhile Khammam district, sources said.

Monsoon Session of Parliament: Congress to corner Modi govt on Pahalgam, Trump claims and Bihar voter list revision
The Congress party will raise issues including the Pahalgam terror attack, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar, the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and rising atrocities against women in the country, during the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament beginning on July 21. The decision was taken during Tuesday's meeting of the top Congress leadership. The opposition party also decided to raise farmers' problems, rising unemployment, the safety and security of the country, and the Ahmedabad air crash during the month-long Monsoon session that will run until August 21. Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi convened a meeting of the party's parliamentary strategy group at her 10 Janpath residence on Tuesday evening. Has the earth engulfed them or the sky? Who is responsible for it?" Tiwari asked. "Our concern is, why was there an intelligence and security failure in Pahalgam, who is responsible and who is morally responsible and where are those terrorists. "We are hopeful that the government will allow a discussion on the issues raised by us and on the manner in which the bravery of our brave soldiers was throttled by the untimely ceasefire. We will surely demand answers on why Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir was left unguarded," the Congress leader said. Tiwari also disclosed that the party will raise the serious issue of electoral manipulations in elections in states like Maharashtra, Haryana, and now in Bihar where a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has triggered a political storm. Tiwari said the election process had come under suspicion. He alleged that earlier, democracy was "murdered" in Haryana and Maharashtra and said what is emerging from Bihar now is a matter of concern. "The SIR of the electoral rolls in Bihar is a threat to democracy," Tiwari said, adding that a discussion will be sought on the issue. The Congress wants the SIR to be scrapped, alleging that it is "unconstitutional" and aimed at disenfranchising around two crore voters in Bihar.. Raising the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, where he said the poll verdict was against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tiwari asked, 'When will you give full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir?'
