Dropout from Odisha Builds The Most Powerful Uncensored AI Model Cleus, Nears ₹1 Crore in Revenue

VMPL
New Delhi [India], July 10: Prabhu Parichaya Biswal, a 26-year-old computer science college dropout from Bhubaneswar, has created Cleus, an artificial intelligence model he built entirely on his own to give people access to information without the censorship and political bias he says is common in today's mainstream AI tools.
Frustrated by what he describes as the "heavily biased and politically influenced" nature of popular LLM systems, Prabhu decided to build his own alternative. He says many existing AI models avoid or censor certain topics and opinions, which he believes limits people's right to knowledge.
Before launching Cleus.AI, Prabhu experimented with various large language models developed abroad, including Chinese models like Claude, Gemini, GPT or even Deepseek, but struggled because these models also imposed restrictions, censored results, or lacked openness in sharing information.
Prabhu initially built Cleus.AI just for his own personal use and thought of it as a fun side project. But after receiving positive feedback from friends who tried it, he decided to make it publicly available so more people could use an uncensored ai tool.
"AI should not decide what people are allowed to know. Knowledge should be open, especially for educational purposes," Prabhu said.
What began last November as a personal side project that Prabhu coded entirely on his own at home has now turned into a fast growing platform. Without any external funding or marketing budget, Cleus.AI has attracted over 50,000 active users and is generating about $9,000 per month in subscriptions. Prabhu expects it to surpass 100,000 users and reach $16,000 in monthly revenue by the end of the year, putting him on track to earn more than ₹1 crore in annual revenue.
Prabhu has experience building viral AI projects. Earlier, he developed an AI Twitter bot named ExplainThisBob that caught the attention of Elon Musk. Prabhu and his product got viral because of that and he later sold that AI bot to a crypto company for about ₹1.5 crore. Who made a crypto based on the AI and became worth more than $120 million USD during peak in 2023.
Prabhu hopes his new venture can show that individuals, not only large corporations, can build meaningful AI products. He believes open access to information is essential, and that AI should serve as a tool for learning rather than gatekeeping.

US senators warn Nvidia CEO about upcoming China trip

Academy Empower your mind, elevate your skills A bipartisan pair of U.S. senators sent a letter to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Friday about an upcoming trip to China, warning the CEO to refrain from meeting with companies that are suspected of undermining U.S. chip export controls The letter from Republican Senator Jim Banks and Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren asked Huang to also abstain from meeting with representatives of companies that are working with the People's Republic of China's military or intelligence bodies. The senators also asked Huang to refrain from meeting with entities named on the U.S. restricted export list."We are worried that your trip to the PRC could legitimize companies that cooperate closely with the Chinese military or involve discussing exploitable gaps in U.S. export controls," the senators wrote. Huang planned to visit China on Nvidia spokesperson said, "American wins" when its technology sets "the global standard," and that China has one of the largest bodies of software developers in the world. AI software "should run best on the U.S. technology stack, encouraging nations worldwide to choose America," the spokesperson said. In May at the Computex trade show in Taipei, Huang praised President Donald Trump's decision to scrap some artificial intelligence chip export controls and described the prior diffusion rules as a failure.U.S. restrictions in April on AI chips Nvidia modified to comply with export controls to China would reduce Nvidia's revenue by $15 billion, the CEO hardware necessary to power advanced AI is now subject to a bipartisan consensus related to the free export of such hardware, the senators wrote. Advanced AI hardware could "accelerate the PRC's effort to modernize its military," the letter reads. U.S. lawmakers have grown increasingly concerned about efforts to circumvent export controls to China and proposed a law that would force AI chip companies to verify the location of their products. Last month, Reuters reported that a senior U.S. official said the AI firm DeepSeek is aiding China's military and intelligence operations, and sought to use shell companies to circumvent U.S. AI chip export controls to China. Nvidia is planning to launch a cheaper version of its flagship Blackwell AI chips for China, Reuters reported in senators said in the letter they had previously expressed concern that Nvidia's actions could support the AI and chip industries in China and cited Nvidia's new research facility in Shanghai as an example.

AP Chambers seeks a ban on export of raw human hair

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) has submitted a detailed representation to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu urging his personal intervention to stop the export of raw human hair, especially non-Remy (comb waste/GAoli/Chutti) hair, to safeguard the domestic human hair industry. In the representation, AP Chambers' president Potluri Bhaskara Rao and general secretary B Rajasekhar highlighted that in the last 20 years, the demand for Non-Remy Hair had gone up exponentially and Chinese buyers were buying huge quantities till 2012-13 from Indian exporters. But in the last 10 years, China has started reducing legal imports by smuggling Non-Remy (Comb Waste Hair) through Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal where it is processed with child labour and again smuggled to China across border to avoid duties. Despite an earlier ban imposed in March 2022 by DGFT, exports resumed shortly after, including by previously blacklisted traders. Non-Remy Hair forms 85 percent of total exports and only 15 percent of hair is Remy Hair, sourced from temples, which is sold in auction/direct sales by temples. They pointed out that the Indian Human Hair Extension and Wig industry, currently valued at Rs 8,000 crore, has the potential to grow to Rs 30,000 crore in the next decade. The industry, which has a major presence in Madepalli and Eluru, provides employment to over 10 lakh women across rural India. AP Chambers also made key suggestions including the export of raw human hair having ITC (HS) Code 05010010 should be strictly prohibited to make it available for Indian hair processors for value-addition, Remy-type hair from temples should not be sold to China or Chinese agents, restrict temple hair auctions only to registered manufacturers/exporters and not to illegal trader to support 'Make it India' initiative of the Union government, establishment of a dedicated research chair for human hair at IIT Chennai to foster R & D, reduction of duties on human hair imported by countries wherever India has any bilateral agreements, incentives or subsidies to hair exported to African countries as they are the biggest consumers of hair and wigs as they will help boost the exports to African countries. Bhaskara Rao emphasised that this is a unique industry that transforms waste into valuable foreign exchange while empowering lakhs of women through rural employment. He requested the Chief Minister to take up the matter with the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the human hair industry in Andhra Pradesh and India.
