Netflix renews Untamed for Season 2, with Eric Bana returning as Turner in a brand-new location and mystery.
Netflix has officially renewed Untamed for a second season. The wilderness crime drama, which quickly climbed into the platform's Top 10, will return with a brand-new storyline and fresh challenges for its lead character, Kyle Turner.
Eric Bana Returns As Turner
Eric Bana will return as Turner, the tough ISB agent introduced in season 1. But this time, he is not going to be in familiar surroundings. Speaking to Netflix's Tudum, Bana said, 'I am absolutely thrilled that we get the chance to bring another season of Untamed to life. The response to Season 1 has been a testament to the incredible effort by our crew to deliver something truly unique. I can't wait to take Kyle on his next journey."
This season will see Turner in a brand-new location, facing a completely different case. Unlike the first season, he won't have the advantage of knowing the land.
Where Season 1 Left Off
At the end of Season 1, Turner walked away from Yosemite after solving one of the most difficult cases of his career. He needed distance both mentally and physically. Season 2 picks up after this break. Co-creator Mark L. Smith told Netflix's Tudum, 'He's been to a lot of parks. He's been busy. This will be the latest and it'll be more impactful for him."
A New Park, A New Mystery
While Turner felt completely at home in Yosemite, the new park will throw him off balance. Smith added, 'Turner was so comfortable in Yosemite. Now we're putting Kyle on his back foot, making him very uncomfortable."
The setting will once again be a key part of the story, not just a background. Co-creator Elle Smith explained, 'Each national park has such a different cultural identity, geographical identity. Being able to explore those places through the case and through Turner's journey is what's so fascinating."
Will Familiar Faces Return?
There is no confirmation yet about returning cast members like Naya Vasquez (Lily Santiago), but the team isn't ruling it out. Smith said, 'We're trying to figure that stuff out because my God, we loved our cast."
Turner will definitely encounter new characters in this season. Some will be allies, others might not be. The mystery itself will also reflect the new environment, making it feel fresh and different from Season 1.
While plot details are still under wraps, one thing is clear: Turner's next journey will be more intense, unpredictable, and deeply connected to the wild terrain that surrounds him.
