Their mothers never sought the spotlight, but their influence runs deep. This Mother's Day,
Tollywood
celebs reflect on how their mothers' everyday acts of care, sacrifice, and quiet encouragement have profoundly shaped their lives and careers.
'My mother's struggles inspired the character of Chitra in
Pelli Choopulu
'
'As a kid, I remember my mom choosing to walk miles just to save money. My mom, who was initially a homemaker, began working as a teacher with my dad's encouragement. She played a dual role — both a housewife and a teacher. She always supported my artistic side and gave me whatever I needed to express myself. She never said it out loud, but I soon realised that things were financially tough at home during my childhood. Watching all of that deeply impacted me — it inspired me to write the character of Chitra in Pelli Choopulu.'

'I lost my father at a very young age, so I didn't have enough time with him to understand how he could have shaped me. It was my mother who guided me. She taught me about life — that when you're successful, you have value, and when you're not, nobody cares, especially in the film industry. Everything I've learned about life and the industry, I owe to my mom. When I think of family, it's always her and my brother.'

'Her constant belief in me gave me the confidence to follow my dreams'
'I think I began to truly understand the meaning of
motherhood
as I grew older. She and my dad had their share of struggles to keep things going at home, even when it wasn't easy. But she always put me and my brother first. Her constant belief in me gave me the confidence to follow my dreams — whether as a stylist, director, or writer. I just want to say thank you, and I love you.'

'My mother has always my biggest cheerleader'
'Even as a homemaker, my mom always had a strong voice and stood by her beliefs. Growing up in Sringeri, Karnataka, where there were no theaters, I'd look forward to visiting my grandmother in Bhadravati, where mom would take me to the movies — those are some of my favourite childhood memories. She's always been my biggest cheerleader, encouraging me to pursue art even though I studied engineering. Today, we're more like friends — we do yoga, watch films together, and her perspective always helps me see things more clearly.' — Nabha Natesh, actress

Rajinikanth is working on something big about his life, reveals Lokesh Kanakaraj: 'In last two schedules of Coolie, he is...'

Director Lokesh Kanakaraj, whose much-awaited action entertainer ' Coolie ' features Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, has now disclosed in an interview that Rajinikanth is in the process of writing his autobiography and that he had been writing every day during the last two schedules of ' Coolie '. What is the big thing Rajinikanth is planning? In a video interview with a media publication, the ace director said, '.. in the last two schedules, sir was busy with writing his autobiography. He used to write every day.' The director then went on to say, 'Every day, I would ask him,'What episode are you in?' 'What phase are you in?'. He (Rajinikanth) would then let me know that this is what happened in his 42nd year and that this is what happened at a later stage.' Rajinikanth shared this with Lokesh Kanakaraj Stating that the superstar shared with him details that he didn't share with anyone else, Lokesh said that the experience was one that would always remain close to his heart. 'So, it is like very close to my heart. What you take away is that experience that man has seen. One common factor that connects not just me but everybody else in our state to him is all the hurdles that he has overcome,' Lokesh said. Meanwhile, Coolie has already made headlines by becoming the highest overseas procurement for a Tamil film to date. Rumours doing the rounds in the industry also suggest that director Lokesh Kanakaraj's much awaited action entertainer may well reach audiences in over a 100 countries around the world when the film hits screens on August 14 this year. Hamsini Entertainment, a key player in international film distribution, is backing the film's global distribution. Sources in the industry claim that with 'Coolie', Hamsini Entertainment is gearing up for their biggest release yet, targeting distribution in over a 100 countries, making it one of the most widespread international releases for an Indian film. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars stalwarts from the Indian film industry like Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan. Anirudh has composed the music for the film, marking his fourth consecutive film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Cinematography for the film is by Girish Gangadharan and editing is by Philomin Raj. The film is keenly awaited as it will feature actors Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth together after almost 38 years. The two were last seen together in the superhit Tamil film 'Mr Bharath', which was released in 1986 and in which Sathyaraj played Rajinikanth's father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had turned down offers to act in some of Rajinikanth's earlier films like 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'. 'Coolie', which is Rajinikanth's 171st film, will revolve around gold smuggling. Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanakaraj has disclosed that 'Coolie' will be a stand alone film and not a part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe

Sonu Sood gives Fish Venkat's family ₹1.50 lakh to help them after his death, assures them of his support

Beloved Tollywood actor and comedian Fish Venkat died in Hyderabad on 18 July after hospitalisation due to kidney issues. He passed away even as his family pleaded with Tollywood stars to help them financially and to help them find him a kidney donor. Sonu Sood gave the family ₹1.50 lakh after his death, assuring them of his support, as per a press note sent by his team. Sonu Sood has assured late actor Fish Venkat's family of financial and moral support. Sonu Sood gives Fish Venkat's family ₹ 1.50 lakh Sonu provided financial support to Venkat's family after his death due to a kidney issue, reads the note. He had offered help, hoping that the actor was still in the hospital, and was shocked to know he had died due to deteriorating health. After learning the news of his death, Sonu transferred ₹1.50 lakh to Venkat's family to help tide them over. He even spoke to Venkat's family members, especially his wife, over the phone, assuring them of his support even in the future. Venkat's wife seemed relieved and happy to receive the help, given that her husband was quite fond of Sonu. Venkat was 53, and he was admitted to the ICU earlier this month due to kidney failure. He was surviving on dialysis. His family members were hoodwinked by someone claiming to be Prabhas' manager and offering help when they approached the media. However, soon actors like Vishwak Sen and Sonu stepped up to support him. Pawan had previously also given the family some money when he had learnt of Venkat's ill health. His family had previously told the media that they were struggling financially and needed ₹50 lakh for the transplant. Recent work Venkat was last seen in the film Coffee with a Killer this year, and it is unknown if he had shot any other films before his death. Sonu wrote, directed and produced the Hindi film Fateh this year. A previously shelved project, Madha Gaja Raja with Vishal in Tamil, was also revived and released this year.
